Horrible, horrible, horrible. If I could give –negative stars, I would. Rude woman behind the counter, and she couldn’t get the very simple order right. I also told her«to go» twice and she forgot that. To top it off, the pizza was so bad I threw it away. Total waste of my time and money.

It is quite an interesting place. We ordered indian food three times there, and it was great! The place is definitely 70-s style, but the food is great to our(me and my wife) taste, and that’s all we care about!

It is below average pizza. Only reason to go is that its stays open later than Mama Gina’s or Caesar’s. I have tried the subs, again below average but ok.

Um… no. Just…no. Regrets regrets regrets regrets regrets. Yet somehow(!!!) this place got a 4+ star review on Foodler. Don’t trust Foodler reviews, you guys, they burn me EVERYTIME.

Never before has a slice of pizza actually harmed me. I picked up a piece of plain cheese on my way through Union Square this afternoon. There was an odd, close smell in the shop, not unlike the underside of a bathroom sink, or a kitchen sponge in desperate need of replacement. Notwithstanding, I paid my $ 2.00, stepped out, and took a bite. The flavor was neither here nor there: a nice, slightly malty crust that would be perfectly tolerable in a store-bought, frozen pie. The odor, however(nose? bouquet?) had the same mildewed overtones as the shop itself. I can’t explain why I kept eating; I still viscerally regret it. I can’t imagine that the establishment or its product is always like this. There are plenty of decent reviews here, so I can only imagine that today, something went horribly wrong. But restauranteurs, like airline pilots, have little room for occasional error in their profession. I will not be returning to the site of this disaster.

I decided to try this place but that was a mistake. Very small, dirty place. The smell will kill you. Bought a slice of pizza just because they were starring at me. Did not even try it. I did throw it out as soon as I got out of the store. Hint: they should just stick to indian food or even better shut down.

Whoa. I had a slice and it was like they took a frozen pizza and stuck it in the microwave. I’m not picky when it comes to pizza… but this one is was pretty bad. Never again.

I was with a friend and we had some time waiting for the bus and she wanted a soda. This place was open at 10:30pm on Tuesday, so that’s why we went in. The menu board is all pizza, calzones, wings, and subs. But as soon as we walked in I had to ask the South Asian folks in there what they were cooking because it smelled currylicious gooooood. She showed me the fresh samosas she was making and the Indian menu. I had to get veggie samosas. 2 samosas for $ 3(deal). I was not disappointed — I didn’t get a chance to partake there, but 30 min later at home they are still good. I’m only giving this three stars because I didn’t sample enough to give more stars, but I have to say if I ever am randomly in Union I’ll try some other veg Indian fare. It is a perfect sub-midnight snack. It strikes me as the kind of place that always served the pizza menu, but with current ownership they’re also offering the Indian menu, so even if I ate pizza, I think I might guess that the pizza is less good. Again, not speaking from experience. They also got this rating because they have Italian ice!

Hmmm… this must only be reserved for binge-drinking food. The pizza, while slices are made fresh to order, are nothing to write home about. But they are worth Unilocaling about because they are so poorly prepared. The crust is like doughy, school cafeteria-style pizza that was long ago banished to memory. Each piece of pepperoni is precisely placed… and that’s not a good thing. It’s as if the pizza was frozen from the get-go and put into the oven when you stumble your drunken ass into the doorway. Go elsewhere.

While i originally planned on ordering pizza, I saw on their online menu that they also have Indian food. Perhaps I should have known that a pizza place with Indian food would not have very good Indian food. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. Both of which were literally the worst I have ever had. The naan was rubbery and dense, even the packaged kind you can buy at the grocery store is much better than this. The chicken tikka masala is cut in much too large chunks, and the sauce is really watery. Also very bland.

Gave the place a try with a sub and a salad. Pretty underwhelming, and interior of the place if pretty sketchy. Mama Gina’s across the street is better.

Ordered delivery on Friday around 7:00 and it came in 20 min. Agree with Shane F. — cafeteria *style* pizza. Or, video game arcade *style* pizza. Or Ellio’s *style* pizza. I emphasize *style* because the pizza is actually pretty good. It’s got a thicker crust, not quite deep dish, almost like a round sicilian pizza. But the dough was surprisingly tasty and cooked perfectly — outer crunch, inner chew. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. And $ 9 for a large. Yes, please. Now, I’ll agree, I’m more of a traditional floppy NY pizza kind of guy myself. And that is NOT what this pizza is. My wife, on the other hand, is a sicilian pizza lover, and she cleaned her plate. Also got an antipasto salad and it was big and loaded with mortadella, genoa, ham, and provolone.

My roommates and I live near the Somerville/Cambridge line and have been searching for a great pizza place since I moved in in January. We had tried places within walking distance, and were completely disappointed. Disappointed to the extent that we had started driving to the North End to get Regina’s just to have pizza that didn’t suck. One night we were prowling Foodler and saw that a place in Union Square would deliver to us and was relatively cheap. My roommate and I decided to give it a go and man! what a great idea! Where some places take an hour to find our apartment building, Union Square Pizza had our order in our place in under 45 minutes. It was piping hot, looked delicious and tasted even better. Our regular order(yes, we’ve ordered from there enough that we have a regular order) is a large pizza with pepperoni & green pepper and an order of onion rings. We’ve also since ordered calzones a couple of times for visitors and they have raved about them. The crust is perfectly crispy, the toppings are delicious(and sometimes sparse, so ask for extra) and the pizza is a REAL large for a great price. It takes 3 of us to finish an order of their onion rings, which are breaded(but not too heavily) and hold their crunch with no problems. The small calzone is enough for 2 people to eat their fill, and doesn’t skimp on flavor. I am seriously impressed with this place and am so stoked to finally have a local pizza joint that makes great food AND delivers.

One star is pretty severe, right? Unfortunately, this place deserves it. I’ve only tried the pizza. I got two slices of cheese yesterday. It was awful. I could barely eat it. But I was REALLY hungry, and forced it down. With each consecutive bite it became increasingly unpleasant. It’s on par with a generic brand frozen pizza, or a hospital cafeteria pizza. But worse. Here’s an idea if you’re really hard up for something cheap to eat: Spill some sauce and something that tastes almost like cheese on a sheet of cardboard, and eat that. It’ll be about as good as the pizza at Union Square Pizza.

This is ‘last resort’ pizza. If you happen to find yourself standing in front of this place with a sudden spasm of pizza craving, ok. maybe consider grabbing a quick, cheap slice. But yeah. if you have the extra minute it takes to go elsewhere, I’d do that. This pizza is below average, and is more of a stomach filler than anything else. I haven’t tried any of the other menu options.

Great hours, but not too much else to offer. The pizza here is nothing to write home about. The crust, almost frozen pizza-like, is probably the chief culprit, though I can’t say much for the cheese and sauce either. Their meatballs are exceptionally bland, tasting almost as if they were boiled – that and how under-stuffed it is dooms their meatball sub. The lone bright spot for me was a passable cheese steak. I expected the worst, but was surprised with a sandwich that was comparable to its peers in the area. I’m not saying it’s great, but it’s significantly better than the other things I’ve eaten there. The dining experience is flat-out odd: uncomfortable booths, bizarre channels on an old TV, and the owners’ kids constantly running around the seating area. Oh well. Basically, this place’s saving grace is that it’s open until 11PM365 days a year – including Christmas and Thanksgiving. Only Red House comes close to that but I’m tired of paying for my crab rangoon twice(if you know what I mean). On nights when it’s impossible to find anything else open, Union Square Pizza may be your best bet.

Ehh…2.5 to 3 stars. I wouldn’t come down on this place as much as some Unilocalers have. The pizza we had was pretty good, as was the sandwich. Just don’t go in here expecting fab pizza and service, that’s all. Oh, and the atmosphere is more or less cafeteria…

I stopped in and had two slices and a soda. They heated the slices for me. The crust was not very flavorful, but it was nicely thin and crisp, and the cheese and sauce tasted good for an overall positive effect. The staff was friendly. The price was low. Union Square Pizza was perfectly decent, but bland. I prefer to go to Mama Gina’s, which is directly across the street and is really very good.

The only thing that saved the large cheese pizza from this place was that it was actually quite good as leftovers(recooked in the toaster). That said, I feel I shouldn’t need to finish cooking the dough on my own. It kind of defeats the entire point of ordering food. Buffalo tenders were about as good as the ones you can buy frozen and microwave on your own. Despite the cheap combo deals available, and the quick delivery time, I don’t think I’ll order from here again.

I’m going to call this cafeteria style pizza. The crust is like a big soft… something or other. It smells good enough but, after a second or two of chewing something bad happens with either the sauce or the cheese or both and the taste is really just the opposite of good. If your parents won’t let you cross Somerville Avenue then I don’t think this pizza will actually injure you, otherwise go to Mama Gina’s. Funny thing is, I saw the people working there eating and they weren’t eating pizza,(or anything else on the menu).
