Bonneau’s Towing & Mechanical

This is with regard to the mechanics side of Bonneau’s (fortunately haven’t had to experience the towing service) — I live in Sonoma and was on my way home late one night — and my car broke down — ironically — right at the stop sign adjacent to Bonneau’s. Lucky for me, the CHP was just going by and gave me a push into Bonneau’s parking lot. I checked in with the mechanic in the morning — and they spent a couple days trying to figure out the problem (I thought the clutch had gone out because I couldn’t get it into any gear)…but the mechanics couldn’t duplicate the problem… they spent some time and checked various things on the car and drove it several times without any problem. When I went to pick up the car… they refused any payment!
Not that I want my car to break down again soon — but when (if) it does — I know where I’ll take it. The guys were professional, interested in the problem, and all-​around good guys —

Exceptional service! My car lost power on a busy street in Sonoma on my way to work.
Along (very promptly) came Luis, who loaded my car & me into his immaculate truck. The ride back to Novato was full of memorable conversation with one very bright, engaging young man. Lost a day’s pay, but well worth the experience of Bonneau’s & Luis’ ability to calm my anxiety.

My insurance company dispatched this company after the 1^st towing company cancelled, and I am very happy with their service. My tire shredded on Hwy 37, and I was not able to get to the exit because of the damage. When the driver, Lucas, showed up, he was compassionate and kind, and also down to business. He also made me feel extremely safe despite being on the shoulder of the highway, and he explained everything he was doing, which really helped with the building anxiety of being stuck on the shoulder for over an hour. Because of his service and attention to detail, it helped me stay calm and collected (which was very different from full-​blown panic attack when I got just a flat tire ~5 years ago), and I am very appreciative of the service that Lucas provided as well as the thoroughness of the company. The follow-​up phone calls, albeit automated, was also a nice touch.

This is a great company. We were on our way back to SF from Sonoma when a transition check engine light came on. It was getting dark, we were in the middle of nowhere on the side of the highway, and it was a Sunday night. To complicate things I just had knee surgery, have to keep my leg straight and need a open back seat to do so. We pulled over and when we tried to drive again the car was really dragging.
We called AAA and Jose showed up soon after. Although he had to stay in the area and was unable to tow us back to SF, he stayed with us for over half an hour and helped us find the most reasonable alternative.
Then, after he left, reading the manual further, we found that the car would drive but would be limited to 3^rd and 4^th gears. Unsure about whether it would be ok to drive all the way back to SF or not, we called Jose back and he told us he would be right back. Within five minutes he was back, read the manual, immediately called off the other tow truck and instructed us about how to drive home, keeping an eye on the rpm’s. Jose was prompt, thoughtful, proactive, saved us hundreds of dollars, and most importantly made us feel safe on the side of a dark highway. Thank you!

We pulled in to get gas at 5pm and our power steering went out. We managed to pull it in front of Bonneau’s, and the guy was closing up at 5:15. Nevertheless, he came out and checked our car and said that something is wrong with the power steering. They were closing, but he opened the gates and allowed us to store it in their car yard over the weekend. He said they would work on it on Monday.
Sure enough, Monday they found that there were a couple of recalls on it. They helped in getting it towed to Hansel’s VW in Santa Rosa. They said they would charge us $ 100 for the diagnostic but only charged us $ 50.
Not only were they highly professional and excellent in their work, they were extremely nice too. I would recommend this excellent auto repair shop to anyone.

Lets face it, taking your car in for anything is always a dreaded process, and often its a painful process. Not so here, the friendly staff are patient and clearly strive to provide a hassle free experience.

I dread having to get my vehicle smogged and Bonneaus always comes through for me. I’ve enjoyed same day appointments and received my smog pass and certificate within 15 minutes. They make the smog process as hassle free as possible and I really appreciate them!

I have AAA service and when I call (just about monthly) with my car problems, a friendly person from Bonneau’s shows up quickly and fixes my problem. Everyone I’ve encountered from this place is very professional and competent.
