Business Owner
Telo Stewart — President
Telo Stewart was born in Colorado, spending most of his youth in Aspen before moving to California to attend the Russell Racing School’s year-long mechanic and driver training program, finishing second in the driver’s championship and becoming the second person ever to receive the President’s Award for excellence in the mechanical aspects of the program.
Telo started working with World Speed Motorsports in 1996 while still racing at Russell Racing. Then he joined WSM full time in 1997 as one of the team’s number-one mechanics. He also competed in, and claimed, the San Francisco Regional Formula Mazda Championship in 1997 for WSM. Telo put his driving on the back burner in 1998, and was promoted to Team Manager for the team’s Star Mazda Series efforts, including the 2001 Star Mazda Series North American Championship winning effort.
Telo Stewart took over ownership of the team in 2003.
