I agree with all the reviews here. LJ is amazing, and I don’t even know if I could do justice with my review for her. Words will not be enough to express my gratitude.
LJ helped with my own Baby Shower planning and design. It was a big event with around 100 invitees. As much as I wanted the event to be perfect, I was quite conscious of our budget. My friends offered to help, but it is extremely hard for me to delegate work. So I started making calls and picked a venue. I researched to find the best baker in town. By this time, I was already feeling overwhelmed.
I had a vision in mind, but had no idea how to achieve it without someone’s help. Working with an event designer meant spending a lot of money towards planning. But the task of doing it all by myself seemed daunting, and I decided to give it a try.
I made several calls and met one of the designers. All I wanted for the shower was to have a cohesive theme, without being too ostentatious, or having too much of a baby shower theme. But somehow, when I met the designer, I felt I was being sold on the idea of how the party should be, rather than what I desired. Still, the lady convinced me that it was doable in my budget. When I got a quote, it was outrageous and did not even make sense based on our discussion. I felt I wasn’t even heard and it was very disappointing.
I wanted to give up on the idea of hiring someone. But then, I came across LJ’s page. With all the positive reviews that I read, I decided to give her a call.
From the get-​go, LJ was very receptive. She listened to me, and understood exactly what I was looking for. I knew right then that I wanted to work with her.
The more I talked to her, the more I felt at ease. Initially, I would share my ideas. But soon I realized I could let go and have her plan the whole thing. She coordinated with the event manager at the restaurant. And she also coordinated with the baker and conveyed the theme, design and color ideas. She took care of everything, while being extremely budget conscious for me.
The event was flawless. I was completely blown away by how well it was all put together. More importantly, I realized that anything I mentioned to LJ about my vision was brought to reality. All her handwork and presence during the event meant that I could relax and enjoy. All the guests raved about the event. It was perfect.
LJ is such a wonderful person, and it was a pleasure working with her. I wish she was there to help me with my wedding as well. Anyway, I tell her jokingly that she has to now help me with my daughter’s wedding when my daughter grows up, and with all the events in between. But for now, we will start with decorating my baby girl’s nursery.
LJ is truly the best!

Besides actually getting married, working with LJ was the best part about planning our wedding on 9÷19÷2015. We had the most incredible, beautiful, and magical wedding all thanks to her brilliant style, impeccable organization, outstanding problem solving skills, and attention to detail. Seriously, I couldn’t even imagine how it could have been better, and if I had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate to work with LJ every single time.

It’s too bad I plan to get married only once; I already miss working with LJ to bring my wedding vision to life. LJ is a consummate collaborator with great ideas that come from years of experience, and excellent, personalized recommendations for vendors. I really appreciated her can-​do, positive attitude and attention to detail.
Before the wedding, I met with LJ several times to discuss the plan and my rather elaborate vision. LJ listened to my ideas, then made them better, and then brought them to life. She responds quickly to emails and texts, and keeps very organized notes in google documents/​spreadsheets/​slides. All of her vendor recommendations (florist, sound equipment rental, alcohol delivery) were completely on-​point and blew me away.
The day-​of the wedding is when LJ went into superhero mode. She was somehow everywhere all at once, making sure everything was perfect. Afterward, many of the guests commented on how smoothly all the transitions went. My mother, who can be hard to please, and was a little suspicious of the need for a wedding coordinator at the beginning of planning, was beyond impressed with LJ. I have no idea how LJ accomplished everything from set-​up to clean-​up as seamlessly as she did on the day of my wedding — it’s almost inhuman.
In short, LJ is a superstar, and my wedding was amazing because of her.

Laura did an absolutely amazing job helping plan and execute our wedding this summer. She was amazing to work with, always calm and up beat, and super friendly. We had a fairly large (190 people) outdoor wedding at my parents house and she coordinated the set up, delivery and clean up of everything with all of our vendors. She made sure that every last detail was absolutely perfect and stayed for several hours after the wedding was over to clean and organize everything so our families didn’t have to deal with a mess in the morning. On your wedding day you want everything to be perfect and as stress free as possible and Laura made it possible for us– we couldn’t have done it without her! Looking back through some of the wedding photos later I noticed so many little touches that Laura had taken care of that I hadn’t even known about but that made such a difference in the overall feel and ambience of the wedding. Also, Laura isn’t overbearing at all– she will help make your vision happen and won’t push her ideas on you (unless you want her to, then she can totally take charge and give suggestions, which I needed a lot of:) I can’t say enough good things about Laura and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding planner!

One of the best decisions we made around my 5÷16÷15 wedding was finding LJ of Lux & Jasper as our wedding planner/​day-​of coordinator. Throughout the year plus of planning, she kept us calm, focused and answered every single frantic email and question we had. We’re a bit of an uptight group so there were lots :)
LJ was a HUGE help as we sorted out our vision and what we wanted — and then followed through flawlessly on bringing that vision to life. She has an incredible eye for design and was instrumental in creating a beautiful setting that matched our vision at both the ceremony and the reception. One of my favorite things about LJ is that she always shared her opinion when asked, and when she disagreed or thought another option may be better than the direction we were headed, she’d respectfully share her point of view and get us back on track — but I always felt like she respected what we wanted and supported it.
All the vendors she recommended were AMAZING. She was straightforward with cost and how vendors stacked up against the competition. Even though she had relationships with many people in the industry, I always felt like she had our best interest in mind and represented us incredibly accurately and well. We paid extra for her to serve as point person for several shuttle buses. This was well worth it in that LJ created and delivered the complicated schedule as well as communicated with the drivers on the big day. What a load off!
LJ provided a range of suggestions to make sure we understood our options (for example, for the Groom’s Cake she suggested everything from an elaborate cake from a local artisanal bakery to Safeway and everything in between!), but when we just wanted her to handle something and not be weighed down by choices, she executed things flawlessly (such as delivering our welcome bags all over the Monterey Peninsula the day before the wedding!).
On the day of, we had nothing to worry about — everything that was within her control turned out flawlessly. She also navigated tricky situations with our on-​site venue contact, who was a bit challenging to work with, and did a great job at managing her to make sure we had the day we envisioned.
I was constantly impressed by her positive and calming attitude, grounding presence, creative vision and her ability to manage complex and emotionally charged situations. She was patient and understanding when we had last-​minute changes and always snapped into action when we needed her to. I would definitely recommend LJ as a wedding planner/​day-​of coordinator! We couldn’t have done it without her!

LJ of LUX&JASPER is one of the most talented, creative, and organized people I know. She helped turn a chaotic mess into a beautiful masterpiece that encompassed my overall vision. LJ has the resources and quick thinking skills to overcome any potential complication for any event. Her creative style opened many doors and gave me the boost I needed to get going in the right direction. I trust LJ completely and was so thankful she referred vendors who I knew would be perfect, so that I didn’t have to spend hours on the phone myself!
