History

Established in 1987.

Somerset Door & Window, owned by Peter and Lleni Carr, has grown to be a valuable supplier of doors, windows, millwork, and hardware to contractors, architects and homeowners in Santa Cruz and surrounding counties. Many of our customers have been buying from us for 20 plus years because of our knowledge and service. Our business philosophy is that we work for our customers, helping them procure the materials that best match their needs.

We started Somerset in 1987, upstairs at Somerset House in Aptos Village, and moved to our current Soquel location in early 1989. We are fortunate to have a shop downstairs where we prehang wood doors and prep millwork. Upstairs you’ll find our showroom and office.

I started my adult life as a general contractor in Santa Cruz. We started Somerset Door & Window in 1987. Since then I’ve pretty much dedicated my life to serving you delightful folks, our customers. I pore over the details with your contractor or architect to provide you with the doors and windows that meet your needs. Our door shop uses high quality products and takes great care to provide you with a well-​hung door.
