The Last Resort is a Salon and Day spa that specializes in Hair Cutting and Color, Skin Treatments, Waxing services and Wedding and special event hair and makeup.

We have two locations, one in Santa Cruz, and one in Soquel. Only the Soquel Salon has skin and waxing service’s.

We are a Rene Furterer hair product exclusive salon, and we use only the finest wax, because we are committed to providing you with the best service combined with the best products, at the fairest price, to be sure you get the highest quality, and best value for your money in the area.

The Last Resort is a wedding specialist, we are honored to have 40 to 50 very happy bridal parties catered to each year. We encourage you to book early, because the word is out, and we fill up our calender quickly.

All our stylists are good cutting and color professionals, they have a good loyal customer following, and they in return have made us number one in the county with their YELP reviews.

History

Established in 2005.

Several years ago we decided to break our bondage of having a ‘job’ so we put our meager resources into a tiny hole in the wall in Soquel Village and opened our first store front business.

The name The Last Resort was appropriate on many levels. It was all the money we had at that time — it had to work.



The Last Resort is also an Eagles song about California — our home state which we care deeply about — but mostly the name is about a vision and a hope — of a California spa at the end of a driveway lined by palm trees — a place of serenity and beauty, of plants, stone and water, a place you can escape to as your ’ last resort ’ before stresses of daily life overwhelm you.

We do not have that yet — but the dream is alive!

That spirit is present in our business philosophy and environment in the two salons we do have — and we look forward every day to sharing with you that bright sunlit palm frond-​ed Californian future.

I may be the captain of the ship but it is the team who work at the Last Resort that make this such a fun place to work.

We work hard to keep an upbeat environment which is fun for us and the client, without sacrificing professionalism.

We have me, Lori, Terri and Teresa doing hair in Soquel, with Aylana doing the best massage, and Rebecca, Gwendolyn, Teresa and Lindsey doing hair at the Santa Cruz shop.

We senior stylists have studied our craft over many years with such greats as Vidal Sasoon, Tony and Guy, and are committed to continuous further education until the end of time.

Our junior stylists are talented, professional and committed to the high standards of the Last Resort Salon.
