We love kids! It really does just come down to that. So we want the kids and parents who come here to feel secure and comfortable and to have the best possible experience. Our goal is to promote the health, development, and growth of children from birth through age 18 years, and to help you with your children any way we can.

History

Established in 1986.

Dr Silverman has practiced pediatrics in Santa Cruz County since 1986, at first in Capitola, then Soquel for the last 5 years. The practice grew almost exclusively by word-​of– mouth, parent-​to-​parent, up until recently when parents starting checking out our website and Yelp reviews. Our practice is one of the last totally independent pediatric offices in the county. We are not a corporation, so business concerns — though important — do not govern how we practice, unlike other offices. Because we are a «solo» practice, continuity with the same physician is guaranteed. Making visits fun for the kids is a priority. We vigorously support parents by advocating for them with insurance companies, HMO’s, and school districts. However we can help.

Business Owner

Dr Silverman’s medical education was at University of Maryland with externships at USC /​LA County, UCLA, and Boston Childrens’ Hospital. Pediatric training was at Penn State Medical Center and Mt Zion (SF) /​UCSF.

Our practice emphasizes humanistic values, honoring and validating parents’ and kids’ opinions and experiences, strong advocacy for our families, honesty, addressing every concern, and seeking solutions.

Dr Silverman is a proud parent. Outside interests include remodeling (an endless process), music, gardening, hiking, and baseball (go A’s).
