Great local bar. Bartenders are always friendly. The food is amazing but it gets crowded at night — best to go during the day if you would like to enjoy your meal!

Great local bar. Friendly staff and good food, can’t ask for more. Been to many similar places and this one is a great find. Had the chicken quesadilla and perogies and would recommend both.

This place kills it. I’m from not around here, and drove my kids to see s concert at Starland Ballroom. Had a few hours to kill, so used the «what’s nearby» Apple app to find the place. A classic neighborhood joint, filled with outstanding working-​class Americans. They all know each other, they’ve all been coming here for years, they range in age from 24 to 54, and are all. friendly as hell.
Top of all this but got this fabulous kitchen the cranks out outstanding burgers chicken and pasta

The bar is really cute and the cook and bartender were both really friendly. I ordered a quesadilla to go. It’s delicious! And a really large portion. I just wish that it came with salsa or sour cream. I’m definitely going to come back here again though.

CUSTOMER BEWARE: They re-​bottle bar brand spirits as as premium. Not only is this obvious to those who only drink premium brands by taste, but every drink is poured from a giant handle. Anyone in the industry knows that it does not make sense logistically or economically to purchase handles for service (and for some liquor license types THIS IS ILLEGAL); They do that so they don’t have to refill/​swap bottles as often. Anyone ordering anything other than well drinks should get ANGRY about this; Alcohol is a drug, a very regulated one. Being untruthful about the drug you’re serving is dangerous. And you’re paying top dollar to be lied to. My last visit there was indeed my last. I ordered Patron and it was well-​tequila in the Patron bottle. I then witness the employee operating the grill scrub the grill with a washcloth that was dipped in obviously contaminated water. So it was no surprise when I was terribly sick for the next two days. They’re violating so many health/​ABC laws they could be shut down. Also, the bartenders are clearly using drugs and frequently ask that you pay in cash, so they can pocket your money. It could be a nice, down-​home bar, but unfortunately its an accident waiting to happen.

I do come here for the quesadillas but you won’t feel robbed of your mixed cocktail because they make great drinks!

Service was alright, bartender seemed relatively new… but wasn’t. Food was alright — good if you’re hungry, certainly not something you’d crave.

My second visit to Munckee bar was as good as the first. The chef is friendly and chats with you as he’s preparing your dinner. If you’re not into that, simply sit at a table away from the grill which is behind the bar. Food is made to order so get a beer, reasonably priced, and hang out while you wait for your food. Ordered burger medium rare but came out more medium. But it was delicious nonetheless. Just like other reviewers, I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla. The chicken was juicy, a good amount of cheese, and a little slice of hot pepper on each piece of the quesadilla. The full order was cut into 8 hearty pieces. Wish my onion rings came with a special dipping sauce.

What a hidden local gem ! Great down to earth crowd, I’m sitting here enjoying the music & a gentleman just got me a drink :) the bar tender tonight is an attractive Milfy blonde (yes the this Unilocal review is affected by bourbon !) such an enjoyable place! The munkee sandwich is incredible & the cocktail shrimps are jumbo w a signature sauce

…hi, I usually have an amazing time here… I am not sure if it was just really busy that night or the ladies working were in a bad mood … The food and the drinks were amazing as always but the staff brought the mood down

This place is amazing! The food, the atmosphere, the staff and the owner. We’ve been coming here every once in a while for years. And always being greeted by a friendly staff and the great service. Today we had a special of the day — «big ass hotdog» :) — is a must try plate, the best hot dog I’ve ever had: polish sausage with perfectly cooked potatoes, green peppers, onions, very juicy and tasty. In general the food is always fresh and prepared right in front of you. The place has very cozy atmosphere with fire place. The digital juke box which connects to your smart phone — has all choice of different music you like. It’s perfect for sport events — has many flat screen TVs all around the bar. The staff is very friendly, always there to take your order, the owner is frequently there, making sure that everything is running smooth and everyone is having a good time. I recommend this place for having a great time as well as a great food. It’s a MUST VISIT place in Central NJ!!!

This is my go to place around the corner. I suggest the quesadillas because they are out of this world. The staff is especially friendly and of always taking care of me on my birthday with a shot and surprisingly balloons.

One of the best burgers I had in a while. Buckets of beer was nice also. Friendly staff. Wife loves the stuffed mushrooms

Love this place! !! Good food, great people and wonderful staff. The food is amazing, the drinks are perfect… so so clean. A lot of iron worker history here… The tables are all covered with pictures of iron workers and years of such cool history! Definitely a place to check out… you will become addicted!!!

Had the Munckee sandwich and a beer. The sandwich was really good suprisingly. I believe it was chicken, provolone, and spinach. Quick, on the healthier side, and tasty. Add that to the great service from the bartenders and I can’t complain. Fair warning, the place is a bit of a dive so be prepared.

Good food, buckets of beer, working fireplace, drink specials during games… definitely a step up from the typical local bar. The only downside is there is only street parking.

I’ve been here SO many times. Food is hit or miss sometimes, but leaning more towards a miss IMHO. It’s NOT the cleanest place for sure. The bartenders and cooks tend to put the tongs on the handle of the oven which is below the grill. Every time he or she goes to open the oven door, guess where those tongs touch? Yes, the floor! How do I know this? Well the bar is U shaped, with the grill at the top of it. I’ve ordered food at times and waited thirty to forty minutes to get it. The ONLY plus is it’s hot, when I do get it. They have some decent beer on tap, nothing special. Most of the crowd here drinks Miller Lite and Coors Light… gag! But the do have Sam Adams seasonal and Guinness on tap.
You’ll pretty much find nothing but locals here. Some of them are nice and some of them are… well you know. Good luck finding parking!
