Checker Cab of Northern Indiana

Unreliable, unprofessional to be avoided at all costs. Called at 8am to get cab from ND campus to airport. Was informed that it will be a few minutes. 15 minutes later called back only to be told «it would probably be another 15 minutes». Missed my train. Absolutely horrendous service

Fifteen minutes late in picking me up for the airport, even though I called roughly three hours in advance. If you use this service, give yourself a fifteen-​minute window… or just drive yourself if you don’t want to be late.

I have never posted a Unilocal review before, but decided to make an account just to rate this company. They are absolutely HORRIBLE. No cab companies in the South Bend area are 100% reliable, but this one is by far the worst. I had somewhere to go yesterday at 4:15 a.m. I called for a cab at 3:10 — more than an hour in advance! I was assured that a cab would get to my house on time. I slooooowly gave the dispatcher my address and phone number, so that she would not get it wrong and I stressed the importance of the cab being on time and she said that the driver would try his hardest to get to me within a fifteen minute range of the time I wanted a ride. Are you kidding me?! I only agreed to it accept a ride from them because I called four other cab companies before this one and none of them said they would have a cab available at that time, so I felt as if I were running out of options.
4:20 rolls around and no cab is in sight. I called the dispatcher back and she says that she sent a cab to my house and could not find it, so he just left. I re-​told her my address and she said that I had given her the wrong address the first time. I seriously doubt I forgot my own address but, even if this had been the case, why didn’t someone call and clarify or ask for directions? That would make too much sense, wouldn’t it? I asked her to send the cab back and made sure that she had the correct address. She assured me that the cab would get to me in five minutes, ten minutes tops. 4:30 rolls around, and guess what? No cab. I call back and she LAUGHS and says the cab will be coming to me soon. 4:40 comes and the cab still hadn’t gotten to my house, and the dispatcher informs me that the cab will be on its way after it drops off another passenger, and rudely hangs up. At that point I realized that this cab was never coming. I called over an hour in advance and the cab driver goes and picks up another passenger because he supposedly couldn’t find my house? That doesn’t sit right with me and I doubt that a cab was ever even sent to my house.
I ended up having to cancel my plans for the morning, which cost me money and time that I could have been sleeping rather than waiting for a cab that was never coming. The cab never did show up and no one ever called me to say that they weren’t coming. This company needs to fire its dispatcher ASAP and seriously adopt some better business practices.
