CHILIWASSOOOGOOD! Got a beer and a cup of chili for around $ 21. Pretty pricy, but that’s to be expected at any food place on the slopes so that’s no biggy. Boyfriend got a hot link sausage here and said it was really good! The young blonde girl working there was friendly and the bowl of chili was hot and delicious! My beer was ice cold and it really hit the spot on a cold morning on the slopes of heavenly! I will return if I hit up heavenly again in the future.

Most expensive beer I have ever purchased — $ 25 for 2 draft beers not including tip. With prices that high it should be posted above bar.

Worst part of our vacation. Stopped for a lunch break and waited ½ hour to order, no biggie. 2 brats $ 26.95 still no biggie. Stood by the grill and watched the cook,(and I use that term beacuse I don’t judge) drop his tongs«3» times, and use another pair while he stepped on the long ones he was using. Then pick them up off the ground and use them on the grill, SERIOUSLY!?! I stood there another ½ hour while others got served even those behind me. Now an employee gets up and tells me I need to move up the hill and away from the grill. I finally ask if they are not going to serve my food I would like a refund. To make this experiance worse the punk employee with the tattoos on his knuckles gets sassy about my request. Guess what dirtbag the resturaunt you work for is in the buisness to serve food, and I’m not in the business of standing in line for an hour to walk away with nothing to feed my family. Hope you have a long life in the fastfood industry. A young lady who I can only assume was the manager did show up and after a short wait refunded my money, thank you for being nice.

They serve hot dogs. They serve chili. They refused to make me a chili dog. First, I tried to order the burger dog. They said they were not making them anymore today because it’s close to closing, err, we’re out of them, yes that’s it(mumbling manager walking behind) we’re out. So as an alternate choice I asked for a chili dog. No it’s not on the menu but they have on the premises hot dogs, chili, cheese, and onions. The cashier informed me it was their policy that, if I want a chili dog, I must order a hot dog($ 12) then order a bowl or cup of chili, at $ 11 – 13. Now don’t you think that’s just stupid? and rude? and completely lacking interest in the customer? The cashier said she had tried to do it for others in the past(good for her!) and got in trouble! Now who still doesn’t think that’s stupid? I also saw that a Unilocaler said she got charged twice. I witnessed this yesterday. The customer behind me got charged twice for her food.

I got charged $ 21.90 for two hot chocolates with Kalua in it. Then the bartender lady came back over and said she lost my receipt I signed and if I was okay with signing my customer receipt for her to keep… So I said sure and I signed again and got charged $ 24.90 + $ 21.90 for TWOHOTCHOCOLATES. And no receipt for my own records… I called to speak with the supervisor and she did apologize and tried explaining how if I paid with a card that it sometimes has deducted double the amount but in later days the 2nd amount would return in the account… Everything here is expensive. Also if you need to call this place about something like this you’re going to have to call Heavenly to transfer you to this place because there is no direct number unlike the rest of the Heavenly resort restaurants and stores.

Steins Beers & Brats South Lake Tahoe, California 1:30pm Friday 8th February 2013 Four Stars Met up with everybody at Steins for a bite and beer. I had the Chili in a bread bowl. The chili was delicious and warming. The bread was a little stale and there could have been more cheese and jalapenos. Overall, a good little spot to eat on the slopes. Not that you have any real choice in the matter.

This place is two part, a grill on one side that serves hotdogs, polish sausages and brats. A tent on the other side that serves mac & cheese, chilly, corn chowder and booze :) So the location is located right at the corridor of the main lift up and down this mountain. This becomes the normal and practical meet up spot for my friends and I when at Heavenly. Food is ok, it’s sort of pricey, but when you are beat and all you want is something hot and a beer, this place hits the spot. I wouldn’t drive up the mountain for it though ;)
