Under new ownership! Amazing and super cute little tanning salon. Very clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Goggles available in every room, even though I just bought some there for $ 3, and you have the option to leave your goggles and lotion there for convenient trips after work, etc. There is a complimentary area with makeup remover, extra hair ties, goggle straps, spray, deodorant, water, tanning stickers, etc. definitely worth checking out! I will definitely go back, not to mention better prices than competitors.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I used to go to this salon for over two years until I was tanned in a dirty bed (so gross and upsetting because I was half way through my tan when I discovered it). I even took pictures of the bed where you could see hand prints from someone else’s lotioned hands and body. The person who tanned before me used a hot lotion and turned my sensitive skin bright red and made me feel like I had a sunburn. NOT OKAY. Getting a hold of the owner was difficult and she minimized the whole situation instead of admitting fault and reconciling the problem to my satisfaction.
The young girls that work here are too busy talking to friends instead of keeping the salon clean. The beds are really old, some of the bed models I remember tanning in the bay area when I was in high school 10 years ago. Also some have cracks that will shock your skin if you lay in them just right. The lotion is way overpriced and always smells sickenly sweet like it is expired. The apparel is cheaply made and over priced and looks incredibly tacky.
I switched to Pier Sun off of Ski Run Blvd and have never looked back. Just wanted to warn you before you waste your money and/​or risk your personal health or hygiene here.

This place is awesome! It is under new ownership! I love what she has done with the place The Staff is Knowledgeable on tanning lotions and what tanning bed would be best for you. Their tanning lotion selection is large and they even give out lotion samples if you don’t want to buy a whole bottle. THEY HAVE AWESOME DAILY SPECIALS!!!
They have chilled towels and spray bottles, which i loved! Not to mention they were super clean!
They make you feel so welcomed, will defiantly be back and spreading the word about this place!!! Thank You Rachel for the awesome experience!

I hate giving bad reviews but I feel as though people should really know. This place is pretty dirty:(Go to Pier Sun. It’s like night and day.

Been going here for a few years. I get the Mystic Tan, love the results. They are always open when they say they’re open, none of that «Tahoe Time» BS. Owner and employees are always friendly & helpful. The place is always clean & has a good vibe. Love going here!

I’ve been tanning at this salon for years and I love it! The staff is always friendly, they have clean comfortable beds, and I always love looking at the selection of cute clothes, jewelry, shoes, and handbags they have!

I recently moved to South Lake and needed a new tanning salon. I was talking to some friends who tan there and decided to try them out. As soon as I walked in I knew I’d like it there. It’s super clean and I was greated immediately as I walked in the door. Tara, the girl at the desk, got me all set up with my lotion and a package. She was super knowledgeable about the lotions and what bed would work best for my tanning needs. All the girls are super personable and always remembers my name!

I LOVE this salon! The staff is VERY knowledgeable. The beds are well maintained. They keep a nice stock of up-​to-​date lotions and other tanning related merchandise. Most importantly the salon itself is extremely CLEAN!

Sunsational Tans is amazing! Its a great atmosphere, very comfortable and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Every time I go in there, I feel happy and welcomed. The salon has everything you need and offers little things like cold towels and hair ties. Sunsational Tans also has unique gifts and clothing for sale, which makes for an experience every time you tan. I have to say that My favorite are the customer appreciation days. Nothing like the local tanning salon throwing a party to let you know how much they appreciate you!

Tanning is admittedly my guilty pleasure… having honestly seasonal affective disorder (SAD) since living in a dark and snowy climate, I find myself looking forward to seeing the employees at Sunsational as well as tanning happiness. In particular an adorable young lady named Erin. She is just a little ray of honest light. The facility is clean, comfortable, and well stocked with complimentary goggles, towels, deodorant, hair bands etc. They have also added Aqua Massage, High Pressure Beds, Stand Up, and Spray Tanning. If you find yourself in Tahoe on a cloudy or snowy day, Sunsational is 25 min of quality indulgence.
