We had a great time! Kid friendly, nice staff, close to the lake! Campsite with hook up.

This is a very crowded RV park. They charge $ 75/​night and that is way overpriced. They only have like 8 washing machines and 6 dryers plus you have to dry everything twice because the first round doesn’t dry. I spent my day waiting in the laundry room in line for the next machine. The line for the dryer was twice as long since everyone has to dry twice. Not worth it… Stay down the road. We moved after a one night stay.

We tried to get a tent site late in the evening just for a few hours. The rate was $ 50 per night. 50 bucks for a piece of ground to pitch a small tent? That’s insane. A decent motel down the road charges the exact same.

This RV Park is great! The employees are very friendly. The park, bathrooms, showers and overall property is one of the best parks we have stayed in. It is located enough off the Main Street so it’s quite but close enough to get pizza or load up on groceries! We will stay again!

We have been coming to this park for over 40 years and this is our last time to stay here! While many sites are available, they put us in a site so close to our neighbors that we could almost reach out our window and touch the other rig. We were staying one week, but when they put another rig closer on our other side, we will be leaving early. Cable television consists of 13 channels and wifi sometimes works slowly. Fires are permitted, but they don’t provide fire rings unless you want to pay an additional $ 5.00 or pay for a premium site. The park is showing signs of neglect. Trash is not collected often enough and piles up. Goodbye Tahoe Valley Campground!

I love this place because it is almost completely surrounded by fencing, which keeps out the bears. It is very well maintained by a friendly staff. They have an ice cream shop, arcade. games, laundry, gift shop, and more. Playground for the kids, tennis courts, and a heated VERY LARGE swimming pool. It is open all year now. On weekends they have pancakes and sausage. In evenings they provide free movies and entertainment under the big circus tent. I have been enjoying this place for years.

We made an online reservation, and it was quite the to-​do for what it was. They seem to have some sort of protocol without return policies, but when you show up, it had no running water, a laundry room in complete disarray, bathrooms without locks (safety issues), and dog poop on every turn per campsite. For as expensive as it was, it wasn’t one of the better ones. It has so much potential with its location but it just needs to take care of the little things. Maybe they don’t think poop is their responsibility, but when guests come, the first thing they shouldn’t experience is to step in 1 of 20 piles of poop within their own site. Get a maintenance kid to walk the area.

I love it here, it’s always clean and the staff is very friendly. They have find things to do and it’s close to everything. The manager Dwayne is a great guy. I highly recommend it

2 nights spent there. Nothing good about it:
— Old facilities not well maintained.
— Small spot. Not all spots might be equal but ours was tiny (8×15 yards tops, with a built-​in table right in the middle to make things better, a couple of trees at the entrance too. Oh, and do not forget to park your car well inside your spot too, please). The neighboring tents were about 10 yards apart (and we had 3 neighboring sites…). We then had «second-​layer» neighbors at ~25 yards too: 5 of them. Calling it crowded is being polite.
— Airport VERY close. Helicopters taking off and landing at around midnight is no fun.
— Front desk offered to change our spot at arrival if we liked another one better but when asking they said no. Why offering then ?
— Pool was FREEZING COLD. Don’t lie about «heated pool» please. Lake Tahoe was at the same temperature.
— If people make noise after quiet time you are on your own. Neighbors were loud at midnight on a Saturday and when visiting the registration/​Front desk there was only a sign with the Ranger phone number. For a private business this is unacceptable. And no, we did not tell our neighbors to be quiet because they were the kind of people puncturing your tires or worse.
Overall this is the worse campground I have ever been so far in the USA (~50 in different states). Thanks to them I have the counterexample to tell.
Never again there.

I stayed in a tent with my husband and 2.5 year old son.
Pros:
Front desk staff was nice and helpful

Great park for the kids

Had great activities for the kids and family
Bathrooms where close to spots
Cons:
Airport close and woke up to plans flying above my head
Pool was advertised as heated but was FREEZING
NO fire pits and no ground fires. They had an option to rent firepits but everyday I went to ask they where sold out
Overall we had a great time, everyone was nice. My son enjoyed their park. It was close to the Lake and LOTS of shopping and food options. It is a big place so their was a lot of people. We will be back!

I have stayed at many RV parks, however I am not a full timer. We used to live in Nor Cal so we’ve been to Tahoe a bunch. This RV park has some good things going for it (like being in Tahoe) and many
Poor things. The place is huge and over crowded, the store is poorly stocked with a lousy selection of items. The RV spots are packed like sardines and many people told me they had to request different spots because their RV or trailer would not fit in the spot assigned to them.
There is a $ 4.00 daily «resort fee» for the non-​working wifi, and if you are on Verizon your cell phone won’t work very well if at all here.
They charge for trailer parking and require a completely separate contract to be filled out for your trailer.
All in all a lousy RV park, I won’t be back.

My brother in-​law (Eddie Dominguez) and I were at the Tahoe Valley store on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 to get information and to make reservations for July 16^th and 17^th. As we entered the store we observed there was a long line of people waiting for service. We waited in line and when we inquired about an RV spot at the reservation counter, we were immediately told the campground was full and every RV spot was booked. When we first approached the lady behind the counter we were NOT welcomed and when we left we felt discriminated.
After leaving the campground I got on my cellular telephone and contacted the Tahoe Valley Campground toll free number. I talked to Mara who made a reservation for my sister and brother in-​laws 17 foot trailer without hesitation. This was a humiliating experience and I request management to remedy this concern.

Many great memories here for our family. We stayed here probably twice a year for 10 years. Absolutely a great place for kids where they can ride they’re bikes, play basketball, swim, playground, ice cream social and on most Saturdays in the summer they have movie night.

I am updating my review from three days ago… Why?
1) Because many things changed
and
2) I was wrong.
Bathrooms: new lights, new shower curtains and just an overall cleaner vibe.
Road: humongous pothole just got a temporary fill-in…not perfect, but improved.
Laundromat: here’s my error… there are lots of dryers. Still some broken ones, but lots that are okay. I missed the good ones the first time through. Sorry!
It’s never been «perfect» here, and it doesn’t need to be. It’s a campground for goodness sake. My first impression this visit it looked like nobody cared. Apparently they do!
I said I wanted to love this place again.
Well now I do!

For location, it gets 5 stars, but due to decaying facilities and other factors I give it 2 stars. The main other factor is this: After hours (the hours not even being posted but seemed to be 8:00 p.m. or earlier), there is NO ONE to help with any issues that arise. Nowhere is there posted a number to call with a problem during the night. Well, we had a problem in the restroom: someone upchucked and missed the toilet. When I mentioned it at the store/​office the next day, all they said was «Well, you’d hope people would clean up after themselves, «when I asked about after-​hours problems.
There are hundreds of people staying here on the weekend. I feel like we are abandoned.

Camp site itself was nice. They had all the hookups for our RV, we got a really nice RV campsite at the end of the street. We had a lot of room to set up and have space to ourselves. The bathroom was about 100 feet away from us, so that was a bonus that we didn’t have to use our RV bathroom. The bathroom was definitely not a 5 star hotel bathroom, but I didn’t except anything fancy anyways since it’s called «camping» for a reason. The camp grounds were clean, no trash just laying around, I didn’t see pet droppings on the ground either, so that was nice. They also had a general store literally right across from where our RV was, so if we felt like getting a drink or missing a lighter for our fire pit we were able to walk 20 ft and it was all right there. They also have a big party tent that they would play kid movies on a screen, everyone at the camp site was invited for free, I believe they sold drinks and popcorn also, that was different.
The reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I’d say half or a little less of the people I interacted with were rude and judgmental. My family and I brought our 2 dogs with us a shih-​tzu po mix and our American bulldog, when I would go on walks with my American bulldog around the campsite people would give me dirty looks when I would walk pass them and their dogs. I felt judged and stared at 75% of my time there. One man even told me to put a muzzle on my dog because he was dangerous! My dog did nothing to him and he made that comment, I was thrown off, I didn’t except such closed mindedness from grown adults. The campsite is great, but if you have any type of bulldog, pitbull, Rottweiler etc. any bread that is viewed ‘dangerous’ or ‘vicious’ it will not be enjoyable all the judgement you get your way.

This was our first time camping here. Arrived Wed prior to 4^th of July and left Monday, to avoid the heavy traffic. Very first impression was that everyone was packed in like sardines. Luckily we arrived early in the week and didn’t have neighbors so we were able to set up without any issues. During our stay, we enjoyed activities such as cycling, kayaking, taking our dog to Kiva Beach, and meeting new people.
Upon checking out, we requested a site for next year (after scoping out the more spacious & shady sites). To our dismay, we were told that we could reserve in advance however, «the sites were not guaranteed and that we could be moved to another site», which if you aren’t happy with, are NOT entitled to a full refund! When asked at what point our site WOULD be guaranteed, I was told I could call in the day before to ask. Seriously?! I’ve done tent and RV camping and never have I encountered a place that didn’t guarantee the site being reserved. What’s the point?
At least they should be proactive and contact guests if they are relocated and offer a FULL refund if guests aren’t happy with the new location. They also advised «Something will be broken.» They make hand over fist for these sites and should do a better job maintaining the grounds. We paid $ 46/​day, which they said was a mistake and should’ve paid $ 66/​day. Next year prices will increase to $ 80/​day.
The fanciest RV park I ever stayed at for $ 60/​day was The Crown Villa Rv Resort in Bend, OR. If you check out their site at
, you’ll see why they charge so much and will probably agree it’s worth every penny. Based on the grounds here, you would think $ 30/​day would be more appropriate, but I’m guessing you’re paying more for location than amenities.
If you’re looking for a nice place that is clean & spacious, this isn’t the place for you. If you don’t care where you stay, as long as it’s close to things you want to do, then check this place out. I’m limited in S. Lake Tahoe because not many places allow pets, so looks like we’re settling for this place again next year. I’ll just cross my fingers and toes that we don’t get relocated and the hot water is working.

–Pet friendly with the best dog walk/​trail behind the volleyball court/​pool area.
–Daily kid/​family friendly activities
–You can book your reservation a year in advance
–campground open year round
–you can leave all your personal stuff out and not worry about theft
Cons:
–not so many bike trails
–wifi useless, bring your own hot spot
–bathrooms not maintained/​cleaned on a regular basis
*F block bathrooms had no hot water from May-​Jul 3^rd. Paper towels, TP, and seat covers not restocked. If you stay in F block, use the showers in G block. no issues w/​consistent hot water, good water pressure, etc.
–located right next to hospital so expect to hear very loud helicopters land/​take off at all hours
–not worth the prices they charge

For me, it was one of the worst campgrounds I’ve been to. Granted, I’m camping and not checking in at the Marriott but I expected a little bit more than what you would get at a state campground. Instead, the facilities are so dated. It looks like they haven’t done anything to update the bathrooms since they were built in who knows when, c 1960? Seriously, also didn’t look like cleaning people were around to give it a hose down. I didn’t want to touch any part of the restroom.
I tried taking a shower and there’s not even a shelf to set your things down. My shampoo had to sit on the floor. It looks like a shelf existed in the past but broke off a long time ago and they never bothered to replace it. The stalls were covered in forest green paint so if a fixture had fallen off you’d see a hole and cream paint around it. So sad, they can’t even do a good paint job.
Never went to the pool. Didn’t look inviting. Old and tired. Everywhere was dusty. Our site was piny and dusty. The playground was so dusty. Could’ve used some hose to hose down the concrete and cut down on dust but I don’t believe Management wants to waste their resources on something as silly as watering the ground or putting ground cover.
Why the two stars? Well my kids did enjoy the hamster wheel and the tall swings even though there were only 2 swings left (used to be 3, the middle broke off, again never replaced. Anyway, you never see those play structures anymore. Our site was also big. Big enough to hold two cars and our 27 ft trailer and then a tent to boot. We were able to get a few TV channels and hook up to wifi even though we hardly used it.
We were woken up by helicopters landing at the hospital nearby. One was at 4:30am, the other was at 6am. It was so loud but other than that, the campground loop were in (F loop) was quiet even on the 4^th of July! One of our neighbors has been there for 11 months, lovely! He owns a pitbull!
The location has this to offer: it’s at the Y and conveniently close to everything. However, it’s not like you can walk a few blocks and see Lake Tahoe. Even biking is a little much because of traffic and lack of a bike path in this part of town. If you have a car, then you’ll appreciate the convenient location. However know that there is no scenic draw for you here. No trail nearby to see a lake or a meadow. You are in the Y, close to K-​Mart and Pier 1!!!
The fact that a trolley stops in this campground could be a plus to some. The bus stop is a good 2 – 4 blocks from here. Also, we were bummed our site had no fire ring and the office had nothing to loan us. They said they ran out because of 4^th of July weekend? Who knows how many they had to to begin with? Two or four? They said people have been going over to K Mart and buying their own firepit. Um, I don’t think so. I don’t believe they had $ 70 to spend.
I sincerely hope that management reads this review and does something about this place. It has a lot of potential but unless they fix it up, I’m never coming back. We left a day early!

Whether you will enjoy this place totally depends on your personality, and what you expect out of camping in a car/​RV place. In the summer this place is packed to the gills and it isn’t cheap.
Personally, I like throngs of adventuring people, and running into people from all over the globe while brushing my teeth. This sort of reminds me of the vibe at Curry Village in Yosemite.
Our camp site was nice– soft ground for pitching a tent, and a good picnic table that was clean on arrival. The bathrooms had ample running water, and trash got collected routinely. It wasn’t that loud at night, considering the booming populous.
If you like a bustling car capming or RV experience, this place is for you. If you need a remote experience, try coming here in the dead of winter instead.

I can’t imagine that too many people will disagree with me but the experience of camping is more defined by the company you’re with rather than the place at which you chose to experience the great outdoors. For me, the company was great — there were six of us guys and we were practically the only ones at the campground. We were the only ones (dumb enough) to actually camp in the freezing cold with snow all around us. Nonetheless, the circle of trust was strengthened between all of us even though there were moments of brief disagreements.
The accommodation by the staff at the campground was impeccable but then again, we were the only ones there. A big problem with the campsite was the lack of a fire pit which made everything worse as things got colder in the evening. We did have a BBQ grill in the middle of our spot so that became our makeshift fire pit. The inclusion of free Wi-​Fi (!!!) electrical outlets, and civilization easy-​to-​access on the closest main road made things a little less camp-​like but for the most part, it still felt like a trip out in the great outdoors. FRESH AIR.
We may never do this again in the freezing cold but I’d assume none of us would have any problems coming back here when there’s actually some sunshine and no snow. It actually lightly snowed both nights we were there.
