What a great time. I’ve gone tasting before, but the experience was fantastic. John picked us up at about 9 in the morning, and drove us around till 6 that evening. We stopped and and enjoyed 4 different wineries, and lunch (which was the best food i have had in a while). So many styles of wine that i never knew existed and john’s knowledge about each one was «top of the class». Thanks John for going above and beyond!!!

What a great day! My husband and I went on a tour with John last Friday with two other couples. I cannot believe how much wine we drank (and bought — we can hardly wait for it to arrive)! Everything was amazing — the scenery on the way to the wineries, the wine once we got there, the staff at the wineries, even the dogs and cat in residence — just a fun, fun experience, all the way around. The lunch at the bistro was very good as well, and should not be discounted. $ 105 each seemed a little pricey when I booked it but, when all said and done, it was a bargain. Honestly, if you’re looking for a great way to see part of Northern California without having to do the driving, this is a must-​do — and convenient too — since John picked us up right at our hotel.

Had a great day with John. He was informative and entertaining. The tour was great and John clearly knows the region and all of the wines and wineries. Vicki was great setting up the tour — she actually called us back while vacationing in France. A tasty lunch was a bonus — I wasn’t expecting great food, but that’s what we got. John gets bonus points for dealing with a few difficult people gracefully and professionally. I highly recommend John, Vicki and their tour service!

Such an amazing day! John picked us up at our resort on the morning of our tour and talked about the day and the wines and everything we should expect on the hour drive to our first winery. We were on vacation in Tahoe as a family — mom, dad, sister (27yo) and myself (25yo). We aren’t big wine drinkers at all and were a little nervous about the amount of bitter red wine we were going to have to suffer through. Not only was the entire thing amazing, at the end of the tour our family had purchased 12 bottles of wine — most of which were reds. They were so delicious and it was such an enjoyable day. We’re still talking about it a week later and I’m sure we will for a long time to come.
Can’t wait to go back and take this tour again!

Vicki helped us choose a day during our vacation week, and John picked us up with 2 other couples in the morning. John knows all the Tahoe area trivia, and filled us in on everything that we needed to know about wine on our way to the first winery. We made it through 5 wineries, plus a tasting at lunch– lots of fantastic small operations that gave us anywhere from 5 – 14 tastings a piece. We were even lucky enough to see a bottling line at one place, and walked out to the vineyard at another. All in all, we had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Tahoe area!

My husband and I just got back from Tahoe and we had the best day with Vicki. She is so sweet and nice and really gets to know your palate and takes you to the wineries you will like. This was so convenient and fun. She picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the Apple Hill wine area. We had a great lunch and Vicki took us to 7 yes 7 wineries. I would recommend Wine Tours from Tahoe to anyone. Thank you Vicki for a great day!

We had a magical day with John! Ended up a private tour because no other couples had booked that day so we had John all to ourselves. He’s knowledgeable about wine without being snobby. He is a local and has great stories that made the day fly by. We explored five wineries and each had between 5 – 15 tastes! Next time you’re in Tahoe try this unusual option and you’ll be in for a treat.

This was one of the best wine tours I’ve ever been on. Not only was this tour especially set up for our group, it had many personal touches. Our guides, John and Vicki, were very knowledgeable on the different varieties of wine and their wineries. When we were asked the type of wines satisfied our palate, he tweaked the tour a bit and adjusted the itinerary to fit our interest.
I would (and have) recommend this wine tour group to friends visiting this area.
