Yogen Fruz

Yogen Fruz is no stranger in the frozen yogurt market. In fact, growing in Dominican Republic (DR) I would eat Yogen Fruz almost every day. I have been a customer to the Sunset location since it opened and have over 20 visits.
I always order the low fat probiotic (plain) mixed with blueberries and strawberries (also known as «fruta del bosque» in DR). I absolutely love the tart flavor from the yogurt with the sour + sweetness from the blueberries and strawberries respectively. This is — by far — my favorite combination. If for some reason I’m not feeling the ‘mix it’ kind, then I order plain and may/​may not get toppings depending on the mood. This store offers a wide variety of toppings — from fresh fruit (finely chopped) to gummy words, graham crackers, oreos, etc.
Service is always spot on; the staff is very friendly and attentive. I also like the lighting and décor; it is very modern and chic — a nice place for an afternoon snack or dessert.

Went here last week and had the raspberry frozen yogurt. It’s really interesting the way they make these things and the main draw to the place is that you’re not busting your diet if you go here. It’s quite interesting to watch them put the frozen yogurt pack into the machine and scoop in the frozen fruit and make your treat. The only problem for me is the price. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it is really healthy and tastes pretty good. I’m not a big dessert person, so I don’t know if I’m the best person to ask, but I just thought this place was okay.

Ok frozen yogurt spot. On the plus side you can make your own flavor with the frozen fruits to select from. I tried the plan yogurt with fruits recently and thought to myself «why didn’t I drive 4 miles more to Pinkberry?» so that sums it up! For the price, I rather go with the «serve yourself» frozen yogurt spots around the way. In the end, I’ve tried many frozen yogurt stops and nothing beats Pinkberry’s quality and flavor in my most humble opinion. Enjoy anyway!

Yogen Fruz has the most delicious frozen yogurt. It is amazing and so tart and so smooth just the way I love it! I can’t say that I’ve searched far and wide, but I have tried my share of frozen yogurt, and Yogen Fruz takes the cake by far. The service at this Yogen Fruz location is adequate. It’s nothing to give undue praise for, it’s polite and unpretentious and that’s enough for me… especially when I’m usually in and out of this place.

I love frozen yogurt and this place definitely disappointed me. I prefer the self-​serve, but as long as it’s good, I’ll eat it. I ordered the green tea yogurt and it was approaching disgusting. I had to give it back and they made me a key lime pie yogurt. The key lime was edible, but not worth the $ 5 I paid for it. My friend ordered the apple pie and again, I would never order it.
It would help if you were able to try the flavors beforehand. But really, I have never disliked frozen yogurt in my life, so I don’t know what is with this place. Maybe the way they make it is just not my sort of thing?

It’s only fitting that a milestone review — #300 — be for a place that’s significant to me. My well known love of desserts leads to this being a dessert place. Thus I visited Yogen Fruz.
From the start the place puts you in a good mood with the bright pink and blue lettering, bright light and huge picture of a smoothie on the menu board. There are a couple of tables inside where you can peoplewatch the lunch crowd across the street and the social life of South Miami.
Even the bathroom is bright and colorful!
They have two display cases full of actual fruit for your toppings and a variety of yogurts — whether lo fat, non fat or chocolate — to satisfy your craving. Then there are the toppings to cancel the healthiness, I mean increase the taste :) I was happy with the cherry and blueberry nonfat that I picked, and amplified with chocolate toppings. Even with the sweetness of chocolate I could still make out the tartness of the fruit.

I recently tried this place and to compare with my favorite yogurt shop, Tutti Frutti. Now, I don’t know which place I like better. I like the fact that the yogurt is not icy but creamy and there’s so much to choose from. The prices are decent and the portions are good. I didn’t try mixing my yogurt and toppings in the machine but next time I must try. Like another reviewer mentioned, the menu is a little confusing but if you watch other people order you’ll get some really good ideas and mixes. This place is worth it.

Oh Yogen fruz… why must you be Canadian?! And have no locations near NYC?! Really?
Anyway, they push these frozen bars of a sour-​ish yogurt with your favorite fruits through a special machine and blammo… you have your own Lychee flavored ice cream.
And topped off with gummi bears? Hell yeah!

I was actually a bit disappointed to see that this wasn’t a serve-​yourself FroYo place. I love that I can control myself by only serving myself a bit of FroYo with some Capn’ Crunch topping.
Regardless, you can still have some fun here with a bunch of options.

New take on frozen yogurt, you can choose from a variety of fruits such as kiwi, strawberrys, mango etc. and they have some of the regulars like choclate chips, sprinkles etc. The way to go is with the fruits! After choosing your fruits they add them to this yogurt machine and smash up and mix them with the yogurt! It comes out soo thick and delicious you must try! The menu is a little confusing and lacks direction and concept but just ask the staff how it works =) And prices are what you would expect for ice cream, I got a small with 3 fruits mixed and my total was $ 3 something.

Their green tea fro yo tasted like feet. They allow bums with catheters to come in and ask for money while you are trying to enjoy your frozen feet taste. They were out of the coffee and chai flavors, so we ended up with green tea and their original tart yogurt, which was ok but doesn’t even begin to compare to pinkberry.

Another place right in my hometown I’d not tried. After my debacle with the $ 8 frozen yogurt cone at the Ocean Drive Haagen-​Dazs a couple weeks ago, I was more than primed for a positive experience with frozen lactobacillus. The frozen dessert landscape seems to largely be a depressing, vast waste dump of fake industrial ingredients. So much, that most of the time, I don’t even bother trying. With this in mind, it was hard for me to believe that the stuff coming out of the dispensers at Yogen Fruz is ACTUALLY REAL YOGURT?
I tried the acai flavor, and yes indeed — I was tasting the handiwork of bacteria, not a frozen mash-​up of cream and syrup. What’s more, they have REAL FRUIT AVAILABLE FOR TOPPINGS? Be still, my beating heart. The berries with which I asked the helpful employee to adorn my yogurt were, lo and behold, real raspberries and blackberries.
While the price was $ 4+, that was easy to take considering I’d spent double that on utter crap two weeks before.

Can’t rag it on the price. On average, expect to spend about 4 – 6 dollars in any FroYo place.

I’ve been trying to make the frozen yogurt loop in South Miami and found myself at Yogen Fruz after having dinner right across the street. I believe you can judge a froyo place based off it’s original tart and overall, I was very impressed! It was creamy but not too creamy and definitely not too icy like some yogurt places can be. I was a bit confused by the menu and after reading other reviews, think that I will get my own flavor blended the next time I go back.
The menu was a bit difficult to figure out so I was a tad intimidated. I also sampled the chocolate frozen yogurt that was really good if I am ever in the mood for a more «decadent» sweet treat.
I think that I would go back, although it did seem a bit pricy compared to other froyo joints.

Went here on a Friday night after dinner. The menu was a bit complicated with what flavors there were and what you could mix. But I bought a traditional tart yogurt w the fresh fruits on top. Best thing about that: it was about $ 3 for the sml and unlimited toppings! I packed on all the fruits I could see there. The tart flavor was ok nothing to cheer over but also can’t complain. For that deal there’s tart or blueberry which I wish I chose since it was soooo good. Then u can create flavors by blending the fruits w the yogurt or you can order a smoothie. The staff was great, a bit slow but got the job done and the guy was really nice and helpful. I’ll def stop by here again if I can’t make it to yogurtberry in the grove-​my 1^st true love.

As I’ve said before, I’m a HUGE Yogen Fruz fan and couldn’t be happier that the chain has made it to Miami. I stopped by the South Miami location last night, since the Downtown location near me isn’t open on the weekends. I have to say that the service is much quicker and more efficient in Downtown, but I understand they’re still getting the hang of it. The truth is though that neither location is as fast as those in the Dominican Republic where you’re in and out in the blink of an eye. It also seemed like the folks in South Miami were missing several very important fruits for the mix it. No cherries?! Really?!
On the bright side, both locations are as clean as a whistle! The mixed frozen yogurt is tangy and tasty. For me, Yogen Fruz in Miami is a dream come true.

What a big disappointment, I was so excited by the hype, and even visited on the Grand Opening. But it was a big flop and there wasn’t really a grand opening after all. Just a DJ spinning outside and some balloons.
But we each ordered something different and none of us were blown away by it. Mine tasted quite healthy with 3 different fruits on top, my boyfriends looked increadibly deadly in the hugest size possible, Key Lime flavored with piles of graham crackers. It was sinfully sweet, too much for me.
I was confused by the menu that was scatterbrained and not simple enough for me to read. I didn’t quite understand the concept so they attempted to explain that there are only two flavors: tart and berry. The other items on the menu are mixed in to make green tea, etc.
But then after further exploration of the menu I realized they had other assortments, like nonfat, sugar free, and chocolate. So I felt a little betrayed at that knowledge. Plus I wasn’t told you could MIX or blend the fruit in, smoothie style, until after my friend received his. Oh well — you live and learn right? Oh to pile the cherry on top of it all, they refused to give us a cup of water. Shame on them. I miss Soli.

I’ve visited Yogen Fruz 3 times since they’ve opened, and loved it. It was my favorite treat whenever we visited Canada, and I’m thrilled that they’re here now.
The price for a small (for my blended one) works out to be around $ 4, and it’s «small».. like a real treat (well, I like it so much, that I’m a tad uhmm.. greedy: D).. . so it’s a bit pricey if you’re addicted like I am, but it does taste *really* good!
Visit.. you’ll love it! You can have a blended fruz (literally fruit belended into a yogurt bar), a yogurt-​dispensed looking «tart-​tasting» (I thought the blended was more tart) fruz with fresh fruit toppings, or a smoothie.

I’m so glad they opened a Yogen Fruz so close to my house! This is delicious. I had a swirl with plain tart mixed with blueberry acai, added some granola, blueberries, and oreo’s on top.
Not only is this healthy and low in calories, but it tastes amazing!

I love froyo. In fact, I love it more than ice cream, if you can believe it. And I’m talking the good-​for-​you stuff, the kind with probiotics that tastes like real yogurt. I can’t get enough, and lucky for me, my lovely friend Michelle C. introduced me to the wonders of Yogen Fruz. So grateful!
The other location of this company isn’t so convenient for me, so I still haven’t made it over there, even though Michelle C. had raved about how wonderful it was. Much to my delight, she told me they were opening a location in South Miami! And it was love at first bite. This place is absolutely terrific. It’s still pretty new, and I don’t know how many people have figured out it’s there (it’s kinda hidden, on a sidestreet next to Blu Pizzeria).
Anyway, it’s cheaper than Yogurbella and more rich, which makes me a happy camper. :) The plain flavor is delicious, although I also tried blueberry, which is really tasty too. They have plenty of mixins, fresh fruit, cereal, etc. Personally I like to stick with strawberries and raspberries — yum.
The guy said something about making your own flavors with the larger frozen fruit pieces they have on display — still haven’t tried that, but I’m guessing they blend the fruit to create custom flavors? I need to ask about that next time I’m in and get some clarification.
Anyway, I LOVE this yogurt, it is simply delightful, and you can’t beat something that’s so delicious AND good for you. If I could, I’d buy a machine for my living room so I could have it after every meal — it’s that good. Run, don’t walk here! It’s frozen yogurt heaven.
