Dr. KarlaThompson has over fourteen years of experience as an orthodontist. Born and raised in San Diego, CA, she attended UCLA where she majored in Biology and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1993. She then graduated with a doctorate of dental surgery from Howard University, where she also accepted to attend the Orthodontic Residency Program, which she completed in 2001. Dr. Karla Thompson at SmileHaus Orthodontics in South Pasadena is dedicated to providing her patients in caring manner with the most advanced and orthodontic techniques and orthodontic services. To ensure this, she regularly attends international continuing education courses and seminars. Dr. Karla Thompson and SmileHaus Orthdontics welcome all patients for their first free consultation. Dr. Karla Thompson serves all patients with PPO insurance and private patients.

I knew my kids would be getting their orthodontic treatment from Dr. Karla before their consult. I attended the grand opening and was already impressed. The office is bright and warm and the staff is very friendly and inviting. Most importantly, Dr. Karla pays attention to detail. She caters to her patients. Just to give you an example. I surprised my kids and took them to her office to have their braces placed. Prior to that visit they had been begging me to get braces… it was on their birthday list. So when I took them they had no idea they were actually getting the braces bonded. When we walked in Dr. Karla had a cupcake and a card for each of them. And… if I could be impressed any more she had a mini chalkboard with a personalized welcome message for them. Smilehaus Orthodontics is the best hands down. Dr. Karla, and Rosa are the best!

I recently met with and had a tour of Dr. Thompson’s office. It is modern and CLEAN! She is so good at what she does. She explained all the different options — it is amazing how many she offiers for both adults and children. It is wonderful working with such a professional and knowledgeable orthodontist. I highly recommend SmileHaus Orthodontics!

I recently had the chance to check out SmileHaus and meet Dr. Karla.
The facility is very new. It’s clean with state of the art equipment. There’s a private patient consultation room where you can ask Dr. Karla all the questions you have. I found her to be very calm and soothing and confident in her work, especially with 15+ years experience.
They cater to their clients with flexible hours and affordable payment plans, which is really important to me. SmileHaus also has Lingual Braces (Harmony) and Invisalign options. Hands down, if you’re looking for a great orthodontist and easy parking in Pasadena, give Dr. Karla a try at SmileHaus!

I took a tour of SmileHaus’ facilities, and was very impressed by the modern feel and absolute spotlessness of their office. When I send my child to an orthodontist, I want to know they take cleanliness seriously, and Dr. Karla definitely does. Something that is different from other orthodontists I have visited is that she personally attends to each patient and doesn’t have a ton of staff doing the majority of the work, then she just pops in at the end. She is hands on, attending to her patients 100% of the time.
Orthodontics has come a long way since I first had braces. Apparently, they have an option for bandless brackets?! You mean, no more fussing with those tiny rubber bands that break and require a visit back to the office to be replaced? yes please!
Since both my wife and I have far from perfect teeth, I’m certain our daughter will need them. We’ll see you in the near future, Dr. Karla!

My husband and I visited the location before end of year. Everything about this place is amazing! We have been wanting braces for years and Dr. Thompson was finally able to make it happen. Rosa is so friendly that all of our fears about being at a dentist immediately disappeared! I opted for invisalign and my husband got regular braces. Dr. Thompson cares about her patients so much so that she called the very next day to see how my husband was doing. I don’t think any of my dentists have done that before.

So glad Ms. Rosa introduced SmileHaus orthodontics to my dad-​I was actually kind of dreading it at first because I was scared of getting braces in general; but Ms. Rosa and Dr. Thompson was so welcoming to me I immediately felt comfortable to go get my wire tightened. I came here for a consultation. As I walked in the office Dr. Karla and her assistant introduced with a hand shake. Got a tour of the office and then met with Dr. Karla Thompson. There was no wait at all. Dr. Karla reviewed xrays with me and gave me all the options. I was given all info. on braces available at her office. From clear self-​ligating braces to Invisalign and even Harmony. I was impressed by her beautiful office and great service. They just go at par. I will definitely come here once I get all my dental work with my regular dentist.

Dr. Thompson and her staff are top notch professionals with a personal touch. This is the first dental experience I’ve had where I felt like family and not a number. It’s clear that they truly care about me and went out of their way to make me feel at home. They used a state of the art 3D x-​ray to show me my teeth and help explain what needed to be done to achieve the best results. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision regarding my treatment. Dr. Thompson was thorough, caring and very funny. I actually had a good time!
