One Stop Event Rentals

I do not recommend this company whatsoever. I was referred to this company by another rental company in Maine that was not able to deliver to my location for my wedding date. When I called One Stop, I spoke with Krista and said in my first breath that they were recommended to me by another rental company that is not able to deliver for my wedding date. I gave her my wedding date and she said she would check on the date first. Unfortunately for Krista, she forgot to put me on hold as she «checked» and I overheard her conversation with her coworkers. She said to her coworkers that she can’t believe I’m trying to get them to deliver to my location for just tables and chairs and how ridiculous that is, that it is «not remotely close to us,» for the record it is an hour away, blah, blah, blah while they all agree. Not to mention that she says to them she put me on hold to pretend that she was checking on delivery. So I had to listen to her gossip about someone’s pregnant girlfriend with questions of paternity while I waited for her to come back on the phone and say she’s so sorry but they cannot deliver that day. Needless to say I will be going with a different rental company and I never said it was tables and chairs. They missed out on a payday as I am not just renting tables and chairs. I need everything for this wedding so I guess that is your loss.

One Stop Event Rentals always provides a superior experience. As an Event Coordinator, I know I can count on Samantha to respond promptly and maintain patience through my many order changes. She always catches anything out of the ordinary and offers helpful (and sometimes vital) suggestions. I really enjoy working with One Stop and I am grateful for their quality service.

One Stop was a giant disappointment. The customer service provided was inconsistent and often came with attitude. Corresponding with this company throughout our wedding planning process proved to difficult; emails often went unanswered and mistakes were made several time with our contract. We had sensed from early on that we had made a mistake signing a contract for services but brushed it off, as they were recommended by our catering company. We should have listened to our intuition. It is clear that the volume of business done by One Stop is more than they can professionally handle. Perhaps additional staff is needed to provide better customer service and to ensure that orders are properly fulfilled?
When our wedding weekend arrived we were treated to even poorer customer service when items, such as napkins for the reception, were not delivered. Some of the missing items, that had been confirmed no less than 5 days before the delivery, were delivered 15 minutes before the dinner service. This caused us, the caterer’s and our day of coordinator a tremendous amount of unnecessary stress. When we confronted them about this via email they displaced the blame on our coordinator. They stated that she should have counted each item to ensure there were no errors, and if she had done so sooner they would not have needed to make a second trip. So much for the customer is always right. Lastly, after we had made our feelings known, we received an itemized bill for all the missing forks and chipped mugs that allegedly we did not return. Perhaps the same mistake that was made during the fulfillment process was made upon return? It is difficult to trust that what they say is the truth, as they have proved several time they are incapable of correctly processing an order. THIS PLACE IS THE PITS, take your business elsewhere. I guarantee you will find better customer service and much cheaper prices. It is worth mentioning that One Stop is the ONLY vendor we received bad service from/​made an error throughout our yearlong wedding planning journey; do a better job of listening to your customers One Stop.

These guys are so professional. I rent tables and chairs every holiday and it is easy and inexpensive. I also rent tablecloths. We can eat drink and be merry without worrying about wine stains on grandma’s antique linen. Yay.

One Stop Event Rentals provided the linens, place settings as well as some tables for our wedding in early August and overall they were a wonderful company to work with. Since I was coordinating my own wedding I made a million changes to my order, which some companies would not take lightly. Erin went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and helped me many times determine what I should order taking some of the stress off my shoulders. She was professional, a great communicator and was a pleasure to work with!

Call #1: I called to see if I could rent twelve or fourteen 8-​foot tables for a party and if One Stop Event Rentals could deliver them to me on a weekend day (I mentioned that I’d be willing to pay more for that service). The extremely rude, curt lady on the phone laughed at me and told me that because my order was so small and inconsequential in comparison to other rentals happening that they wouldn’t be able to accomodate me (not only were the trucks unable to drop off on that weekend, they also couldn’t drop off my tables anytime during the week before). I could, however, pick them up myself on Friday and return them on a Monday for a one-​day charge.
Call #2: I called back — after calling every other place in the area without success — to make my order. A new lady answered and she was very, very nice — informative and patient with me as I was not in the best of moods after Call #1. She told me that while they still couldn’t deliver my tables on a weekend day, they could have them dropped off at the venue sometime the Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday before for still just a one-​day charge. She would call me back and let me know which day and at what time that would be so I could be at the venue to intercept them, but I was all set otherwise.
Call #3: Many days later I get a call back from a different woman. The trucks can’t make my delivery regardless of what was promised by the other woman. I can come pick them up myself on Friday and return them for Monday for a one-​day charge.
Exhausted of this cat and mouse game, I finally just relented, begged a friend (with a big SUV) to help me, and we got them ourselves. The man at the warehouse (and the younger girl working with him) were the saving graces of this experience. Realizing that 8-​foot tables weren’t going to fit in the SUV, he quickly changed the order to 6-​foot, promised me he’d make sure I was reimbursed properly, and loaded them into the vehicle himself while we just stood there asking him if there was anything we could do. He was thoughtful, he had a good sense of humor, he was fast, and he was efficient. And when we came back three days later with the tables he remembered who we were, asked us how the party was, and unloaded the tables himself once again. Moral of the story? The warehouse is OUTSTANDING; the ladies answering the phone could take a lesson from them.
Unfortunately, I’ll be using One Stop Event Rentals again the future since there aren’t that many rental companies in Maine to choose from. I feel much more prepared now as to what to expect from them when I call (side note: I wonder if the warehouse folks like donuts… I feel like I need to thank them for being so awesome after having had such a bad taste in my mouth previously by the office people).

If you’ve read the other reviews, you probably get it by now: go elsewhere. The prices might seem the best at first glance, but the way in which One Stop Party Shoppe treats its customers is ridiculous. Also, they charge exorbiant fees left and right once you get your final receipt, which they have already charged to your credit card. A prime example of this: they charged us $ 17 for a cardboard box that accidentally got thrown out. Upon questioning, I was told that it was a «custom box.» I think I need not go into the other specifics, but let’s just say, don’t get a drop of wax within 50 feet of their tablecloths or they’ll bankrupt you. Likewise of course, comb over your linens thoroughly and report any blemishes immediately. You’ll later be charged for the burn hole that was there when you received the tablecloth.

When I made a reservation – the shop agreed to charge my credit card, because our neighbor was picking up the grill. They did not – and made my neighbor pay (he didn’t have my cell #). When I called to ask them what had happened, and why they did not try to contact me when he said it was supposed to be paid for – they said that a) they had no record that they were supposed to charge my credit card and b) that it was his responsibility to call me. I feel like this sort of put him in a weird position (he’s doing us a favor, but not a $ 200 favor), and they have a responsibility as the shop to help their customers.
Then, they went as far to say that it was «your word against ours…» What happened to the customer being right? Take your business elsewhere – I don’t think they deserve it. ;-)

Thanks to the awesome employees at the One Stop Party Shoppe for making a little girls’ 3^rd birthday extra special!!! We looked everywhere for horse-​themed products. Several stores we called said they had plates, etc. only to find out when we arrived that they were out of stock! The ladies at One Stop Party Shoppe actually took the time to confirm that the products were in stock and set them aside for us. Not only did they have EXACTLY what we were looking for, but it was also on SALE!!!

Okay Okay. Maybe it was my fault for deciding that we should get married in the middle of nowhere Maine, that it would be romantic and original.
But maybe it wasn’t my fault. Maybe people should learn how to do their jobs!
We got married at the same place that we met, a summer camp in Maine. The old lodge is beautiful, but of course I wanted to snazz it up for the wedding… after looking around, I found one stop party shoppe and was able to rent everything that I needed for the wedding.
Since we used a local b n’ b as our caterers, we needed to rent all of our linens, tablewear, etc. from a third party. We rented simple white linens, chairs (we only have benches at camp) and china.
The day before the wedding, they deliver the items and leave before I get back. They pretty much just dumped it at the site and peaced. When I get back, and look at everything…

Soooo being the assertive Jewish woman that I am, I immeadiately call them in a rage…
The woman tells me to calm down and not let my pre wedding jitters get in the way of my sanity.
Um, excuse me? GTFO.
I calmed down and asked her to please send new items. She said «sorry but we have multiple Saturday night weddings and we don’t have anything available other than hot pink or mauve.»
Thanks, but no. We ended up having to tide-​to-​go the linens and run to Walmart to get some new wine glasses.
They didn’t even give us a discount or anything. And then after they picked up the items, they called me and accused us of stealing some of the stuff we rented.
