We moved to the south Minneapolis area in July 2015 and quickly located a house in Lakeville, MN. Our realtor recommended Tony Wrobel to do a home inspection for us. The report he produced was very thorough and pointed out potential issues or maintenance that could be needed. We paid $ 450 for this inspection. One of the more important aspects he pointed out was that there were water marks on the ceilings in several areas. He surmised that there may be an issue with the roof. Unfortunately, he refused to look at the roof to see if there was, indeed a problem. He refused to take a look because the access point was too high above the stairs and said that we would need to put up scaffolding to safely inspect. This issue is still hanging over our head and I would have liked to either pay less for the inspection so we could hire someone to investigate.(Just so you know, the exterminator inspector said getting up there was no problem and grabbed a ladder and went up into that area soon thereafter, so this is a little annoying.) In any event, if you are looking to purchase an older house be sure to find out what the inspector will(or will not do) so you are fully informed before you pay for the inspection.
