Have been going to this store for years. Never had a problem with any of the clerks but this new Guy with glasses who works last night around 6pm was a total jerk. He refused to scan my scratcher and my past results for lotto. He tried to tell me to go and check them out on the scanner. He said I need to turn over the scratcher and scan the bar code. The guys an idiot he didn’t know what he was talking about. I left and went to 7 Eleven by South City High School. The girl was nice and said they rather do it for the customer because the scanner sometimes doesn’t work and she didn’t have a problem checking them. So I’m going there now so they lost a customer even though I live right around the block. Maybe others will complain and get rid of this guy!!! If you work with the public you need to be customer oriented and know what you’re doing or talking about instead of pushing away the customer.

This seems to be the main attraction for the dredges of society more specifically South City’s finest. I almost wished I had gone to Safeway after casting eyes on the seedy characters peering at me from the darkest depths of their vehicles behind their tinted windows. As soon as I entered this low life hot spot, there was a woman at the counter complaining to the clerk about having purchased a «used» calling card. Too funny. She delayed my purchase with her scheming nonsense. On my way out, I held the door open for what almost felt like a female bull rushing me– angry and on a mission straight to the ATM. Rightfully so, my expectations were overzealous in thinking I’d get an «excuse me» after she damn near stampeded me. Whew! I survived that one and will probably refrain from any future experiences here.

Hey, it’s 7-Eleven. Nice if I want a quick taquito and coke. Parking’s easy, except at around 8am on weekdays, the store’s clean, and staff are for the most part fine. I come in there so often that some even say, «Hey, you again!» Taquitos taste like they really are $ 1.29, so don’t expect gourmet but rather a good snack. Wine prices are reasonable. Just don’t go expecting a Trader Joe’s or mini-Safeway because, hey, it’s 7-Eleven.

There always seems to be some shady characters lurking in the parking lot. Items are pricey, over $ 1 for a regular sized candy bar! Then comes the employees. Very untrustworthy by every sense of the word. I purchased a 5 package of cigars with other items and everything was bagged by the clerk. When I got home, I realized the 5 pack was already opened with 1 cigar missing. I immediately called back within 10 minutes of our transaction to see if I could exchange the package for an unopened one and was told I would need to return the next day to speak with the manager regarding checking security camera footage? Absolutely ridiculous. We will no longer be shopping at this location as there are many other convenience stores to choose from locally, including a drive-thru liquor store.

Nice enough 7 – 11. But, oddly enough, they won’t let you use your ATM card to buy Lotto tickets. All of the other 7−11s that I’ve been to will, but this one won’t. The last time I was here, I bought a two sodas and a Mega Lotto ticket, and I had to pay cash on the ticket, but they let me put the soda on the card. No cash back either. The one on El Camino near the Eggettes is still the superior one in my opinion. Given the choice, I’ll just go there instead. I’ll only come to this one if I’m in the neighborhood and I’m jonesin’ for a Big Gulp.

Good service as always. But it’s just another 7 – 11 so not much to say in this review.
