A great experience! I sent a text on a Sunday after our garage door spring broke, jamming the door closed. Received a call in about 15 minutes and set up a service call for Monday afternoon. Two gentlemen arrived exactly on time and went right to work, repairing the problem to my complete satisfaction, and at a very reasonable price.

If I could, I’d give them 10 STARS! These guys installed our door three years ago. After issues with the door not opening properly, a coastside business told us we needed to replace the garage door for $ 2000. We went back to Walter, and with a screwdriver fixed our out-​of-​warranty door NO CHARGE. They were amazing when we bought the door and stuck by their job. Great business!

Walter is great he is very busy but he is the best. He replaced my garage door and installed a new remote opener the work is excelent.

I have to leave another review because he came by yesterday and fixed my wheel and hinge that fell off and wanted to do it for FREE. I practically had to put the cash in his pockets. Great honest guy, all around good person.

To the rescue (again)! I had wondered what that loud sound was that I heard the evening before I tried to open my garage door to leave for work in the morning. It apparently was the spring that had broken in half! I called Friday late morning, left a message on the office phone and thought I’d call one more time in the afternoon as I was leaving my office early to see if there would be any chance to schedule an appointment. Walter called & sent a text to indicate he’d be available by 2 pm the next day. The afternoon of the appointment, they were running early (fine for me, since I was home all day). The door was fixed and returned to working condition within 25 minutes. Amazing. Always such a pleasure to do business with professionals that are superb at what they do. Truly courteous, professional and friendly. I highly recommend A&H.

These guys are very competent, efficient, friendly and very reasonable. Awesome experience with them just now. Fixed my problematic rolling electric gate just now. Had to do welding, some electrical stuff, calibration and were done with all in about 30 minutes. Winner!!!

These guys are great! They provided next day service on the 23^rd of December when my old gate service company was closed for two weeks and had no possible way of getting my auto gates to work over the holidays. I have had such frustrating experiences with my previous gate service company. A&H told me they would arrive between 9:30 and 10 am and they showed up at 9:30 on the dot. Walter got on the phone with someone immediately with a factor rep or tech support for the particular gate controller I have and got the issue fixed within 15 minutes or so after a little trouble shooting. Then they went further and noticed a couple of installation errors that he said might be a problem in the future and he wanted to look further into those. He made another call to tech support and they spent another 15 min or so trying to figure out if the stops were installed correctly, or at all, by my previous installer (whose abilities I have good reason to doubt.) After 45 minutes they were done and my gates worked perfect again. Then he says, «Please wait to pay me, I want to be 100% sure I am telling you the right thing with regards to the estimate for the gate stops. I need to research that just a little bit more.» Another thing that was very helpful is that he wanted to show me how to fix this problem with my gates not opening or closing so I could fix it myself next time! He explained it, and it was pretty simple, but I doubt I could have every figured that out on my own without taking a day or two long course on this particular gate controller. Now I see why they have almost all 5 star reviews here on Unilocal

Found on Unilocal,great consistent reviews. Walter called back promptly and was able to accomodate us on a Saturday– knew exactly what was wrong, fixed promptly and has very reasonable prices. He is all about customer satisfaction!

My neighbor recommended A&H Door and Access Control, so I called them. Luckily, they weren’t fully booked on the day I called, and they arrived a few hours after my call to replace my broken garage door opener. Their pricing is fair for replacing the garage door opener and track. Moreover, they provided professional and courteous service (e.g. they explained how belt-​driven garage door openers are better than chain-​driven ones; they asked me if I wanted to reuse existing wiring for the opener keypad and trip sensors (which I preferred that they do); they swept my garage floor as part of their clean up, etc.).
I wouldn’t hesitate to call on A&H again should I need anything for my garage door. Thanks, A&H! :)

My cable on the garage door broke Friday evening and hence, the door was non-​operational. I browsed Unilocal for garage door repair services near my area and came across A&H Door with over 60 reviews and almost all of the reviews were 5 stars!
I called A&H Door Saturday morning at about 8:15. I got a voicemail box and left a message. Within a few minutes, Walter returned my call. I told him the problem and he quoted me a price that I thought was reasonable. When I told him I found his business on Unilocal,he immediately reduced the price by $ 20. He said he was currently on a job (wow…it’s around 8:20am on Saturday morning… he’s starts early) and will be able to come in about an hour. And, not to leave me hanging, he made a courtesy phone call at about 9:10 am to let me know that he is on his way.
He arrives promptly, scopes the situation, gives me an estimated time to complete, and with his helper, they proceeded to work diligently. I had two cars that were trapped in the garage and I watched as Walter and his helper worked carefully to not cause any damage to the cars. Based on my observation, Walter is a very experienced garage door serviceman as he worked efficiently. He removed the old cables (both sides), installed new cables, adjusted the two springs to make sure the garage door was balanced, and lubricated the wheels. After lubricating the wheels, he noticed that the sectional door wasn’t rolling up quietly and he quickly identified and replaced one of the wheels that was the culprit (bad bearings). He did not charge me extra for the wheel replacement. This shows me that he is not out here to nickel and dime his customers. The garage door now rolls up and down better than ever before.
Walter appears to be a hard-​working, honest man and I will definitely use him again if the need ever arises. I can see why A&H Door has so many 5-​star reviews.

I don’t remember when but I hit my garage door and bent the frame of the bottom panel. One wheel fell out.
I tried to fix it myself but just made it worse due to the tension of the cable.
Call up Walter. He asked whether it is an emergency I said no. He came next morning.
Walter had a chance to charge me $$ to replace the bottom panel but he did not. He fix the bent frame, put the wheel and cable back to where they should be. He even better secured the sensors even though this is not part of this service call. He only charged the universal service call fee.
Nowadays this type of person is rare. Most just take advantage of your situation and try to charge you as much as they can. I highly recommend you call A&H when you have a problem with your garage door. I will definitely call they again if I have a problem or it is time for a new garage door.

Patrick came and gave us a thorough check and free estimate of our broken garage door. He was very nice and helpful and offered to buy the part we need to fix it or suggest we can replace it for a new one. As we rent the house, we decide to discuss with the owner first and call A&H later. When Patrick left, I found the door stuck in the middle and called him again. He drove all the way back and helped me and refused the tip I wanted to give him. Really nice person and trustworthy company! Surely will call when we decide to repair our garage door!

The springs on my 2-​car garage door snapped and I called A&H Door to schedule an appointment for repair. On the day of, Walter (the owner) not only arrived early but fixed everything in under an hour! Along with replacing the springs (which was the main job), Walter tightened up all the nuts and bolts, and properly balanced the door. My garage door is operating so smoothly now, I can’t believe it’s the same door! This type of quick, top-​quality, and friendly service is the reason why I like to support small businesses like A&H Door and owners like Walter.

I have worked with Walter and A&H Door on three separate occasions. The first time I had a spring break. They came right out but it turned out that I needed heavy duty springs as I have a heavy roll up door. So they came back first thing in the morning with the right springs and got the job done without any issues.
The second time I bought a Lift Master opener and had them install it at a very competitive price. Lift Master made a ¾ horsepower unit with an older style electronics opener that they discontinued but was compatible with the electronics in my older car. Walter was able to find a unit and installed it at a very competitive price.
Finally, I had installed a rubber gasket on the bottom of my door to keep out rain from inside the garage. There was a slight overlap of the metal rail holding the gasket that started to rub, making a grating sound the last foot of travel when closing the door. Walter came out and adjusted the door. Eliminated the grating and Walter did not charge me for the adjustment.
I give Walter and A&H Door the highest rating. They are timely, competitive, and very competent. Great job all three times.

I admit being hypocritical and reviewing before actually using their service (my pet peeve), so I decided to give them a call while I had another day off.
Showed up on time, serviced two garage doors with WD40, and didn’t charge us. Since one door has old hardware and motor and therefore don’t have replacement parts any more, he suggested waiting until the spring broke. Otherwise it’d cost $$$ to replace either. Unfortunately, I’m horrible with names, so I cannot provide one.
So I regret my initial review in haste and cannot praise them enough! I appreciate the generosity of spirit and would call them for future work.

I manage a 26 unit building in San Francisco and have been using A&H Door for the past year or so. Walter offers timely, polite and thorough customer service & skilled technical support when I need it most. He has responded to calls at 10pm on a Saturday night, talked me through quick temporary fixes when he can’t get out right away, and has fixed our garage doors multiple times.
I cannot recommend him more highly. Walter is a true gem.

I finally made that phone call to get my garage door fixed. I was happy that I got them to come early the next day, which was Saturday.
I got a free estimate and for changing the cable and the rotors and the labor, I was charged $ 145. I did mention that I found them on Unilocal,so that’s probably $ 20 off as well?
Guy who came was friendly and answered all my stupid questions nicely :)
