Swanky little establishment in Westborough square next to five guys and Paris baguette. Good lunch deals, ok food. Sushi isn’t the best but, it’s the closest and quickest place to eat at for lunch if I want Japanese. They have ramen and a pretty wide bento box selection.

Their service sucks! We were brought to the sushi bar and were seated at the dirtiest part of the bar. The counter had food and used chopsticks. It took about 10 minutes for the server to take our drink order. We waited another 20 mins until our server came to take our order and she had a mouth full of food while taking our order. The workers take their lunch breaks next to you too. Horrible!

This is my favorite sushi spot I ordered the same tempura and fish bento box it came out raw I came during my lunch after sending it back I waited an additional 30 mins on top of the 30 mins that I waited for my order I had to leave because I had to go back to work I didn’t get a chance to eat or nothing I’m very disappointed and there was only another couple there so they weren’t that busy.

This place is ok. If you can actually find parking, and are craving sushi — give it a try!
Food is good, prices are a little higher than some of the other local sushi places.
If you want value, try going at lunch. Their bento boxes are huge and a very good price. Nice fresh food. Love the tempura, and you get a huge portion.
I wish they didn’t charge for tea though.
Décor inside is nice, service is decent. Sushi chefs seem very talented. Fun to watch them work.

This place is really expensive for dinner time and happy hour its still bit expensive, not really a big difference, Which makes my wallet broke… Anyways I went here twice. The setting is so beautiful. So elegant looking. Also so clean. Parking is really easy since it is in a parking lot. The waiters are so polite. I really don’t mind going here at all its just how expensive it it.

Update: haven’t been back and still wouldn’t go back. Restaurant reached out wanting to know if my guest and I dined while they were on their lunch break around 2:30 so she can attempt to resolve the issue. Here’s the first few thoughts that came to mind…
1. Does it matter what time I came in? If I came in during their lunch and they chose to be open and serve customers, that’s no excuse to provide lousy service.
–To answer the staff members inquiry, we were there around 3:30 and stayed too long due to the slow service.
2. Quality control Suggestion: if you are planning on serving rolls on your menu, please pay more attention to the ingredients used in the rolls. ²⁄₃ rolls had crunchy/​hard pieces in the fish used. Not sure if it was a bone or what but my guest almost choked. These were simple tuna rolls too. Also one of the rolls was served partially falling apart. I should’ve captured these rolls on photos and posted for your reference, however I didn’t and I’m kicking myself now for not doing so at the time. Experience doesn’t match the ambiance it is attempting to portray. Quite embarrassing. Word of advice, if you are conducting a business during posted hours. be sure to provide the service to match the atmosphere you want to convey. You never know who your customers are and how influential they can be.

What terrible and slow service. It’s not a busy Saturday and we ordered 3 rolls. 45 minutes later… we were only served 2. Looks like people who ordered bento boxes got served much quicker. Makes me and my guests wonder how they’re able to have such fast turnaround time for bento boxes?! Pre made maybe? Who knows. The only thing that was good here was the tea we were served. The waiters were sitting and texting on their phones while we requested our checks. I would not recommend anyone I know to come here. Feels like you’re a wasting your day for a simple meal.

New place in the hood. Not the usual sushi place. This one is different. Me and my sis came here for lunch. Ordered two bento lunch specials. Ate all of mine. My sister too maybe 25% of hers home with her to eat later. We checked in with Facebook and got a free draft beer. The grilled mackerel had black pepper not just salt. Which I am use to. I have to say I didn’t like the pepper. It was more like the box type of black pepper not even the fresh ground kind. Service was attentive. Food was decent for bento boxes. Would I come back, You bet I am just to try out the sushi menu.

Sunday night, not a lot of people. A little bit more on the expensive side and the food is not worth the money you’re spending. Stick to the specials because those are the ones that are worth going for (they have a different special everyday and happy hour 4−6pm M-​F).
Firstly, there was almost no one in the restaurant when going in at about 7:30PM on a Sunday. The music throughout my meal was extremely loud and I felt it wasn’t polite to scream at my guest because there wasn’t a lot of people in the restaurant. The music didn’t even match the mood. The mood went from EDM dj snake to a slow calming song to hotline bling… all of which did not match the fancy and elegant feel of the décor. There was also a random projector playing a fashion video the whole time which added to the confused feel of the restaurant.
Secondly, almost everything I ate was too salty. The dipping sauce for the tempura to the salty miso soup to the salty broth of the tonkatsu ramen. At one point I found myself chugging the green tea (which the waiter kindly made aware to us was $ 3 for the pot when ordering).
I ordered the $ 12 Sunday special of a teriyaki bento box which included a miso soup, a salad (delicious but overly dressed with dressing), rice, 3 piece California roll (nothing special, but good enough to eat), and tempura (which I opt to have only vegetable and was happy with the amount I received). Overall, the bento box was pretty good for the special price but if I paid the regular about $ 19 for a three item bento box, I would definitely go somewhere else!
My mother ordered a tonkatsu ramen, which was also nothing special. It was good and not as salty as my miso soup. However, the ramen noodles were not al dente and more on the overcooked spectrum.
I only give this 3 stars because the food was decent for the price. If the food was better or if it costed less, then I would definitely give it a higher rating. Pretty good for convenience if you live around the area!

Tokyo Sushi & Bar is a great addition to have at the plaza! The price is a bit higher than I anticipated but if you want good quality Japanese food, you gotta pay the price for it. No, it’s not gonna make your wallet cry, it’s just a bit more than other Japanese places in that Daly City-​ish area. The whole décor and food presentation is very nice and I can see why the prices are they way they are. Only downside is you can’t really change the menu (if you don’t want udon and want to change to clear noodle, they might not have that available) and that sis because it’s not an option on the menu but there are customers who do ask, so heads up on that for picky customers.
The grilled oysters were very unique because not many places sell that. The rolls were good and now I don’t need to go all the way to japantown just to eat Japanese

Tokyo Sushi & Bar is a great option for mid tier sushi; especially for lunch prices/​happy hour specials.
I ordered the bento with salmon terayaki, saba terayaki and tempura. The salmon terayaki was cooked really well (not dry at all).
Saba is my favorite fish, and so I was glad to find the portions here to be bigger than most places.
The Tempura was really crispy but not overly oily; probably one of the better tempura a I have eaten. I would definitely come here and grab the bento box again! Overall portions were so big that my to go box lasted another meal.
I also ordered the Hamachi Nigiri. The cut of fish was really tasty and portions were quite large. One thing that was strange to be was that the Hamachi Sashimi had cuts on top; I think so that the hamachi would fall on the rice a little bit better. The rice on the nigiri tasted a bit under seasoned (could use more vinegar and sugar) but met my expectations for a mid tier sushi restaurant.
Service was also superb. The staff was very attentive. I would absolutely come back here.

This place has decent food if you’re craving Japanese cuisine!
Granted I’ve never tried their sushi here but their other entrees are A-​OK in my book. I personally love their tempura udon because I loovveeee some good noodles. The broth is really packed with umami flavor (they put shiitake mushrooms in their broth) and the noodles are always delightfully chewy. The tempura is light and crispy and they actually season the batter!
I’ve also had a chance to try their sake nigiri and sashimi and I’d say it’s pretty average but the texture was a bit unique, in a good way. The fish comes chilled on a bed of ice (when you get the sashimi) so it gives the fish a slightly denser texture, which I liked.
The one thing I’m a little disappointed about is their wakame salad. It use to be so good! The wakame use to be super fresh with a light dressing that made it unique to other restaurants. When I ordered it again recently, it basically tasted like any other wakame salad, overly dressed and too vinegary.
But overall, this restaurant has a nice design, clean interior and serves decent food. Phone signal is really bad there but you’re suppose to be enjoying your meal and having a conversation with the person in front of you anyways (like 1995)!! Best of all, they show the Warriors game here whenever it’s on so you can enjoy basketball and sushi together!

Modern ambiance. Great miso ramen. Flavorful delight.
The 49 roll is delicious and my favorite at this place. The lemon slice as a topper adds the perfect touch.

Got a bento box to-​go for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by how much food you get! Seriously, it was enough to feed me for 2 meals (and apparently they think so as well because they gave me 3 sets of chopsticks).
Salmon sashimi bento box (~$ 10) — comes with miso soup, rice, salad, tempura (I asked for all veggie, but I think the standard is mixed), 3 pieces of California roll, and the sashimi. The sashimi pieces were huge, the biggest I’ve ever had at a sushi place, and the fish was melt in your mouth fresh. Tempura was good, probably would have been better if I had eaten there or wasn’t slow in picking up my order. CA roll and miso soup were just okay. Salad was pretty standard.
This is my new go to place when I’m craving Japanese for lunch. I’ll definitely be coming back to see how dinner is as well.

Tokyo Sushi & Bar is a decent Japanese restaurant at Westborough Square. With an extensive menu of sushi, ramen, bento boxes, and yakitori \ kushiage skewers, it’s definitely an upgrade over Kamameshi House, its spiritual predecessor.
The place looks bigger than it looks from the outside. And the décor is very chic and modern. I actually wouldn’t mind eating at the sushi bar because it looks pretty damn cool with the blue lighting. It looks like they have two separate rooms for large groups.
I went there for lunch and depsite having a menu with all those items mentioned above, I was a little disappointed that there were no donburi bowls on the menu. Not too much of a dealbreaker though since their menu was pretty extensive. I Ordered the build-​your-​own bento with mixed tempura and tuna sashimi. The sashimi was fresh and the mixed tempura had a good mix of shrimp and veggies. I’m just glad it included broccoli tempura. I love that stuff! Overall it was a very solid bento box.
One thing to note is that tea is $ 3 but they give you a huge pot good for at least 4 – 5 people.
I’d visit Tokyo Sushi & Bar again. They have some decent Japanese food and also have a lot of happy hour and daily specials. And I’d definitely like to come back to try their ramen and skewers.

Came here with a friend for lunch around 3pm. There was no wait and only one other table seated, so it was pretty mellow and quiet.
Although I usually like to get specialty rolls and nigiri, there weren’t any lunch specials for either of these, so I reluctantly decided to order the bento box. I’m not usually a fan of these since I prefer seaweed salad over just the regular salad, and don’t usually order any of the meat or tempura options that come with bento boxes. However, the price for each individual roll was ridiculously high (most were in the $ 13 and up range!), so I decided the bento was a better deal at $ 11.95.
I ordered the tuna sashimi and Philadelphia roll. Everything was just okay, nothing spectacular. The fish seemed fresh at the very least, and the miso soup and rice were pretty standard. The bento salad tasted a little off — the dressing was a little too sweet so I only had a bite or two. The seaweed salad we ordered on the side was a good size and was pretty tasty. But again, nothing too spectacular.
I will say the service was great, as the staff was polite and accommodating. This is one of the only sushi places in the area that’s open during the typical «dead hours» in between lunch and dinner, so if you’re looking to fulfill your sushi cravings during those hours in particular give it a try. But if you don’t mind waiting a little longer, I suggest going somewhere else where you can get a better meal for your money.

To be honest, I was not ‘wowed’ my first time dining here. I’ve been back a handful of times since, and I have to say I like it. Their rolls are pretty good and their house hot sake is good.
The prices, are a little on the higher side (even for seaweed salad/​edamame/​tea). But, looking at the area, and the brand new shopping center, I’m sure it isn’t cheap to rent space. They have specials everyday, so make sure you take a look at them when you sit down.

Happy hour is what it’s all about here, and nothing else.
Came here for their Happy Hour special. Every day is a different special. Check this out $ 18 for this great arrangement of sushi.
That and their triple threat appetizer (I forgot the real name) is what makes this place 4 stars. The appetizer had ankimo, oyster, and uni.
Now, everything I ordered was fresh and delicious, and that $ 18 special sushi was well worth every penny.
Delicious.
Now if you come here on non-​happy hour, then you’re looking at 3 stars with more expensive sushi and sashimi courses.
But, as I said before, your best bet is the happy hour.

I didn’t know that Tokyo Sushi existed, until a friend suggested it to me a few weeks ago. The restaurant is located right next to Paris Baguette, so don’t miss it! The décor is very chic, with lots of glass and faux-​fur pillows by the entrance. There’s ample seating with a few seats at the bar. There are also several TVs, which is great.
I ordered the ramen, and was pleasantly surprised. I noticed that there were a ton of daily specials, which seemed worth checking out. Unfortunately, by the end of the meal I was stuffed and did not get to try their sushi, so I will be back!
Tokyo Sushi is a great option for those in the Daly City/​South City/​Pacifica area. I would limit the group sizes to 4 as the space is a bit small.

Came here today and tried their 49er roll. It was fresh and had right amounts of lemon on it. Also tried their bento box with salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki. Everything was really good. The salad had a good dressing on it. A pot of tea is only $ 3.
Staff was quick and attentive, waitress was nice. I recommend trying this place :) also has wines if you’re interested. Sushi and wine doesn’t sound like a good combo to me though.

Nice ambiance and décor, but you’re really just paying for the upscale set up that probably costed a fortune. The owner of Tokyo Sushi & Bar also owns Tokyo House and Dim Sum King in Skyline Plaza.
The menu is similar to Tokyo House with the exception that Tokyo Sushi & Bar also serves ramen and yakitori.
We ordered:
Plain Udon ($ 7) — When they say plain udon, they really mean «plain udon». Soup base was flavorful and udon was al dente, but it would’ve been nice if they added some fish cake slices like their sister restaurant, Tokyo House. This wasn’t worth getting for $ 7.
Tonkotsu Ramen ($ 12) — Nice presentation. Noodles were al dente and soup was creamy, but lacked depth. The ramen included quail egg instead of your typical soft boiled egg, cha siu, chives, bamboo, and seaweed.
Pork Belly Yakitori ($ 3) — This was below average as it was not tender at all. Although it had nice flavors, the meat was way too chewy and really pricey for one skewer. I don’t recommend ordering this.
Verdict: Food is just meh. You’re basically paying for the fancy plates the food is served on and the décor.
Note: Tea isn’t complimentary. They charge $ 3 for a pot of tea.
