Never Ever Ever take your children to him! He loves to inflict pain onto kids. I had braces on for 10 years– yes 10 years because my parents «owed» money for my braces. My teeth are so damaged now, because of it. If I could sue him I WOULD! I had nightmares for years about the trauma he put me through, as he would make me CRY — YES CRY! He loved to put you through hell. I HATE HIM. I don’t like using this word, but I HATE HIM and wish nothing good for him as he hurts kids. There were dental assistants that left because of how bad he treated his patients. He should be sued and lose his license and practice. Why this hasn’t happened yet is beyond me. My teeth are ruined thank you dr. «F» Fay may you rot in hell.

It’s been a couple decades since I was a patient of Dr. Fay. I didn’t know then that the orthodontia treatment I received was on the bad side, perhaps rushed. Dentists have pointed out to me that my upper and lower teeth should *come together* when I close my teeth, and actually come into contact with each other. Also, the visible portion of some teeth have been pulled to look like they’re in position but the roots hadn’t followed, hence, they are actually tilting when seen in x-​rays. Hard to describe but that’s not the proper way to perform quality orthodontia. I don’t know the reason why he rushed my treatment in under 1.5 years. The orthodontia somehow messed up my jaw that I now have some level of TMJ. That cracking sound coming fron my skull when I take large bites of food? Yeah, that’s me. No other orthodontist will touch me bc of how the bones in my jaw have ground down. I have a nice smile still, nonetheless, but I would have preferred quality work and longer treatment to achieve it.

Worst service, poor customer service, dr Fay is crude. This place doesn’t answer their phones 30min before closing time so they can catch up with their work.

Thank you Dr. Fay and staff (shout out to Ann Marie). I’m going to miss our conversations and all the laughter we shared.
1.) I was referred by my brother who had orthodontic treatment at this clinic. He was extremely satisfied with the results so Dr. Fay came highly recommended.
2.) Done in 18-​months as promised — obviously this is case by case. Overall I’m happy with the results.
3.) Brackets popped off maybe 3 – 4 times throughout the whole process. That’s my bad because I would eat ribs and I would get too aggressive stripping off all the meat from the bone. Dr. Fay’s office was very accommodating squeezing me in for last minute appointments. Sometimes they provide a temp fix to relieve discomfort meaning I’d have to go back in another day for cementing. And there are times when they can re-​cement the bracket on the spot. It all boils down to their schedule so I can’t pin that on them. Brackets will pop off especially in the early stages and they do their best to fit you in the next available time slot.
4.) I didn’t really talk much to Dr. Fay and that’s cool with me. All I cared about was how my teeth were progressing. Little chit chat here and there. I’ll ask questions and he’ll answer them. But to be honest, I’m not paying him to talk. It comes down to this — he’s passionate about his craft and he’s a perfectionist. Here’s the gotcha, the dude is not gentle when he examines. Sometimes I felt as if he wanted to see the side of my mouth touch my ear. I guess being in this profession for so long, you become a honey badger. But think about it. Dr. Fay knows what he wants to see. He’ll stretch your face in all directions but he’d be done evaluating in 2 – 5 minutes. If he was gentle and constantly asking me if I was okay, that check up with easily be twice or three times as long.
5.) The staff are all pretty cool. Ann Marie cracks me up. Heads up! Trim your nose hair before any appointment. Nothing bothers Ann Marie more than long nose hair with a nugget attached to it.
Overall — the experience was good. I always arrive 15 minutes before. I got seated before my assigned appointment. Changing wires is quick so generally visits only took 10 – 20 minutes. I’m all about time so this worked out for me.
Final thought —
I read other people’s reviews and it really does suck that their experience wasn’t great with Dr. Fay. All I can say is that there are two sides to every story so don’t let those reviewers deter you from visiting this clinic. I was already sold from my brother’s recommendation but Dr. Fay sealed the deal after consultation. They offer clear brackets so your braces aren’t so noticeable. They gave me «Invisalign» type retainers which is pretty cool. They offer teeth whitening and I’m getting that done soon. I took advantage of my company’s flex-​spending program and my insurance paid for majority of costs so I’m not even sure why people are bringing up $$$? Braces are expensive no matter where you go so get over it. Good luck in your search for an orthodontist. But you should definitely pay Dr. Fay a visit.

Some time has passed and I still loathe my decision of having seen Fay for orthodontic treatment. I was reminded in a picture today; my smile before he touched it was quite nice, and natural despite not having perfectly straight teeth.
Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’ll ever get it back. It seems forever altered for the worse. I do not understand how a trained orthodontist can prescribe a normal, no extraction, 24 month treatment, only to have it become a 4 teeth extraction or surgery case just months down the line?!
This was what happened here. I felt very deceived. If it was not deception, then it was a very terrible evaluation job on the part of Dr. Fay.
To add insult to injury, I received advertisement to get orthodontic treatment with him after having left. What a (fill with word you’d use).
Come here if you want to take the gamble.
I’ve had other Unilocalers msg me in empathy for the situation; unfortunately they suffered under his care too, and not everyone had reviewed. One Unilocaler said she was contacted by their Admin personnel to remove their negative Unilocal review, otherwise they would sue.
A business cannot hide their sub-​par service forever.
Looking back on the day I made the decision, it was the difference of $ 500 I would have saved for going with him. That $ 500 is worth little after what has happened. Lesson learned I guess, but it really sucks. I would not wish this practice upon anyone. Please warn your friends.

I was a patient of William Fay’s Orthodontics Office and received my «first» set of braces from him roughly 8 years ago. At the time, my parents were referred to Dr. Fay by my Pedodontist (Pediatric Dentist) who assured us he would do good work. The price of his braces were roughly $ 5500, compared to other orthodontist’s who did braces for a comparable $ 3000; in the promise that Dr. Fay’s treatment would be efficient, lasting only «18 month long» rather than 24+ months length that most people would have braces. Long story short, we chose him with the «convenience» factor in mind.
To this day, I extremely regret choosing him as my orthodontist. What was I left with? Four years of wasted time, TWO sets of braces from him, and $ 10,000+ in the drain. (Thankfully, insurance had covered most of this). And most importantly, teeth that are not straight. My upper-​central and upper-​lateral incisors (upper front-​teeth) do not touch my lower mandible, as well as my central incisors not matching up with my lateral incisors. Similarly to a comment below mine, my rows of teeth are misaligned in a sense that they do not touch.
My first set of braces came off after the original 18 months. Regularly I had appointments monthly for wire-​tightening, rubber-​bands for strengthening, and the usual orthodontic treatments. It came off looking good (straight at the time), wore my retainers regularly, and next month I began to notice my upper-​incisors begin to misalign followed by my first pre-​molar and canine. We went back to follow-​up on the treatment, and he decided to blame everything on my eating habits, really? Com’on now.. . He also had the nerve to make fun of how I spoke, saying that my tongue would sometimes push on my tooth, causing the gap. If this was the case, why were my teeth not misaligned like this BEFORE I got my braces?
In any sense, after this incident he worked out a «deal» with my parents to re-​do my braces for a smaller fraction of the cost. I would have to go through the entire orthodontist treatment AGAIN, but this time, he decided it would be appropriate to charge us only $ 3000 [(estimated) I don’t recall this amount exactly] as I had already been his customer. I was only a 12 year old kid at the time, and I was afraid to speak my mind nor did I know any better. Every time I had explained Dr. Fay my situation, he really treated me as if I was a kid whose opinion didn’t matter. Repeating my orthodontic treatment over again was apparently the only option. My parents were «assured» by Dr. Fay that this was the best way to correct this, by restarting my orthodontic treatment again.
To speed up, the procedure was finished, and TWO sets of braces later, the same problems persisted and my teeth are NOT straight as hoped for, again.
I definitely felt my parent’s hard-​earned money had been cheated out of us. You wanna know the scary part about this? I have a friend in high school who had a SIMILAR SITUATION to mine, getting braces x2 from Dr. Fay, being assured it would «fix» the problems the first time. Also, to comment on customer service, he never really bothers to strike a conversation with you, it’s pretty much a «get-​in and get-​out» type of ordeal. He always seemed to treat me as if I didn’t know what the heck I was talking about, and would always find an «excuse» to blame me for; yet he’d be nice to my parents because they were the «CASH COWS» who helped keep the money flowing. I couldn’t be more regretful for going here, yet having the audacity to come here again is saddening. In a sense, Dr. William Fay is running medical/​professional malpractice in his office. I just wanted to put my two cents here on Unilocal,in hopes that people should watch out for everyday cases like this. It’s a shame because as an aspiring dentist, it hurts to see «professionals» like this representing the healthcare industry.

I got braces with William Fay 10 years ago… The reason why I am writing this review now & giving a one star is because I was never happy with the results of my teeth, not then, not now. I look at how horrible my teeth looks everyday wishing it was straight and remain straight. Even my friends were in shock when I tell them I really had braces and dental work before… meaning, my teeth don’t looked like it had any worked done to it before. I hate the way my teeth look from the side and the front when I smile… Might as well not open my mouth at all. He was always rough on his patients, so rough that I’m still traumatized by it… & Im 21 now. My cousin & I came together and got our braces done together. Our families always asked me why my teeth looked the way it did because instead of the teeth shifting in a curvature, it was protruding outwards. And as for her, she is also complaining about how her teeth are shifting back to where it began with. My family was making fun of the way my teeth were being adjusted. I laughed it off because I knew what they were talking about but I was only 12 years old at the time, so exactly «what do I know»?? I just know that my mouth had no additional room for my teeth to adjust. He never pulled any teeth out to make room. So soon after I took off my braces, I’m going to follow up appointments. One day my father had to cancel my follow up appointment because he couldn’t take me… they said ok & they NEVER called again. Care about your patients much??! I was drop as a clientele cus the braces were off so basically I was none of their business anymore. All my friends who had braces or orthodontic work elsewhere have a permanent retainer glued to have their teeth remain straight. I never got one. All I got to say is that my hard working parents who spent $ 3600 during hard times knew how desperate I wanted straight teeth so they got braces for me but instead I was tortured by orthodontist and had my teeth return to what it was from the beginning: crooked. I know he will not fix it because it’s been such a long time. If I was older at the time, I would have most definitely spoke my mind & tell him I’m not happy with the results but because «I didn’t know any better» due to my age, I just pushed my feelings to the side. I am considering refixing my teeth with a real orthodontist tho because I really want to be able to smile without being self conscious knowing one teeth is pushed way to back and one is stick out. I wouldn’t recommend William Fay because I don’t think he’s a perfectionist nor is he a gentle person who passionately do want you to have an attractive smile.

I brought my 7-​yr old son to Dr. Fay based on my dentist recommendation (Dr. Sandra Chang who I trust fully as she does not believe in doing anything unnecessary). I am very pleased with the experience there. The place had a nice section at the reception area with toys and video games for the kids. This kept my older son busy. The staff was very friendly. Dr. Fay was awesome at talking to my son who was really nervous about seeing him. He gave my son a consultation and a practical treatment at no charge. I would highly recommend anyone needing an orthodontist to see him.

I just finished getting my braces off and my teeth look wonderful! The checkups were quick and easy and before i knew it my braces were off! Everyone is nice and they are very accommodating with the appointment scheduling. I am very pleased.

Took a close friend of mine here for a procedure. Like Shelli said, serious customer service issues — but that’s not the half of it. The procedure did not go well, and the entire situation turned into an absolute horror story. They have not been helpful in a situation that, in my humble opinion, borders on malpractice. Shady to say the least.
