This place is super tasty, veg friendly and the staff is genuine as well as truly considerate. My order was messed up big time and I am still leaving a positive review, that says a lot about this place. I am from out of town, visited this place a few days ago and liked it so much I went back again today. The atmosphere is relaxed and beautiful, there are so many plants! The staff is attentive and helpful. The first time I went there some Motown style music was playing on the speakers… my kind of café! During my visit today my order unfortunately included something I have a sensitivity to, but as soon as the error was noticed it was brought to my attention, taken of my check and genuine apologies were given. I very much appreciated how this situation was handled. The staff takes these kinds of things seriously and it was obvious by how they handled my situation. I have a handful of food sensitivities and I’ve been to restaurants that have lied about giving me the wrong food, not said sorry or quite frankly didn’t seem to care at all. It was nice that these folks not only said sorry, but I could tell that they genuinely felt really bad. They truly care about giving good service and taking care of their customers. Mistakes happen in food service, that is a given. I appreciate that this café is the kind of place where apologies are given when needed even though accidents happen all the time.

I’ve never written a harsh restaurant review before but my experience at The Brunswick café today was truly strange. My friend and I were all set to relax with a cup of tea in their lovely garden in the late afternoon. The waiter was extremely nice. There was only one problem — loud hardcore Punk rock music in the background. My friend asked someone — who turned out to be the owner — to turn it off. He came back to our table and launched into a long rant-like a crazed and enraged Donald Trump. Then he cursed at us, threw us out and said never come back. Ok.

Amazing! Love this place, staff is so lovely, food delicious, atmosphere lovely, coffee is divine. Michelle even gave me my coffee free one day when I accidentally didn’t have my wallet!

I’ve been there once for brunch with my husband the day after a blizzard and it was fantastic. Food was delicious(we shared a salad and both had avocado sandwiches) and the back of the café is dreamy with the glass windows. I can’t wait to go back !

I’ve been here, on three different times of the day and three different days of the week, and have had the same server each time. I made sure to note it on the receipt this time: Amanda. I’m not usually one to complain, but I’ve experienced substandard service from her each time ranging from inattentive to downright rude. I’ve made simple requests for water or additional sides for my meals that are met with irritation. Sometimes I will get the item that I requested 20 minutes later when the rest of my food has gone cold, other times I have been ignored completely. One thing is consistent, I always get attitude with a fake smile. Now that’s irritating.

The service here is astonishingly terrible, the food was yummy, but let’s just say the wait outside isn’t cause of a rush of people but instead the lack of servicing people inside! We struggled to get water refills, and had to beg for our bill. Then when we still didn’t get the bill 10 minutes later and we followed-up on it, the waitress was rude and finally told us we could pay upfront. I’m not sure if they are using a new computer system or what, but the struggle was real!

YUM. Finally a new option to the hood with good food. Great brunch and ample seating in the back.

Snarky snark snark. Come here within a half hour of closing time, and you’ll surely receive a lip curl from a young neighborhood See You Next Tuesday whose trust precludes any actual need for gainful employment, yet whose desire to be like a cool Bushwick kid has led her to work in a coffee shop. To hell with that. Surprisingly enough, you’ll likely receive far more pleasant customer service from the Dunkin’ Donuts down the street.

The space is utterly delightful and the Chai is spicy without being too sweet as so many are. The service isn’t exactly friendly, but it’s not bad. I wish they didn’t close at 3pm, but it’s a lovely space to meet for lunch or get work done. Ok, I’m on visit 4 and the food is very good too, but the service has varied between and down right rude, which is too bad cause the ambiance is quite lovely I wish the staff was lovely to match.

Pretty pictures. The food does look like that. Too bad it’s overpriced and bland. I was excited for Brunswick to open and still walk by it thinking it should be good. Unfortunately, both times I was there, it felt like they forgot to add enough savory flavors and service was inattentive. Hopefully, they will improve.

I have been 2 times and both me and my husband have enjoyed our choices immensely! I have had the avocado toast with poached egg and the kale and quinoa salad and both dishes were VERYVERY good! I would highly recommend them. The people are nice with a nice space in the back. It’s a little pricey, though.

Delicious food, very helpful wait service and a backyard indoor/outdoor area(heated of course) that feels like you’re sitting in a greenhouse. For me, it doesn’t get better then that! Highly recommended!

This place has been a brunch staple for my boyfriend and I since my boyfriend went vegan. Brunswick has lots of options to please those who eat meat, and those who don’t, without being weird about it. We’ve gone a number of times on weekend mornings and have never had to wait for a table, and the space they have in back is lovely and(usually) pretty quiet. We can both vouch for the quinoa salad, avocado toast, and the poached eggs and ham on toast. Both are excellent, the portions are filling without being too much, and the quality is great. Service can be a bit slow and on the salty side, but I personally don’t mind either. Some people do. We’ve also had some of the sandwiches to go, which has been fine but not unforgettable. I’d only tried the bahn-mi, and while I wasn’t wild about it, there wasn’t anything *wrong* with it, per se. Probably more of a taste preference than anything. One star taken off only because the coffee really doesn’t come around again once you’ve had a cup, until it’s basically the end of the meal — and who wants that? I’m also not a huge fan of how there can’t be a side of fruit made available. Otherwise, though, Brunswick is a totally solid breakfast spot.

Sure, I have to take out a small bank loan every time I get breakfast here, but the food and coffee are on point. The ice coffee is the best in the neighborhood that I’ve had, and the«scramble» is very tasty and by far the most bang-for-buck on the food menu, in my experience. Nice garden atmosphere in the back, too. The employees are all very nice.

We went this morning for a Belgian waffle and they were TERRIBLE! It was not remotely warm– in fact they seemed prepackaged and then sold to us. Awful.

How lovely. Friendly folks and generally pretty awesome food and coffee. Would recommend the veggie sandwich and the lox + eggs on a bagel(with crème fraîche — which is the magic ingredient). There is seating out back. A welcomed addition to the somewhat quiet food«scene» in Windsor Terrace.

I want to give this place 4 stars, but somehow just can’t. I give it a fair 3, which the trusty Unilocalz states as an «A-OK.» And that Brunswick is. I strolled in on Friday, 9am for some breakfast. Service was totally fine, ordered myself an avocado toast with all the fixins and enjoyed myself some wifi and drip coffee. Somehow an avocado toast + egg on top + bacon came out to a whopping $ 16. Just for the toast. Slightly preposterous, but hey, I get it. Also, the coffee wasn’t really refilled as much as I would have enjoyed, but I do recognize that this place isn’t a true diner, so I get that as well. The grilled haloumi cheese on top of the toast was thin and overdried, which makes me think they fried it off in the morning and it sat waiting for me. Sad haloumi times. The coffee was delicious. Full disclosure: I’ve tried to eat here twice before, both times when it was busy-ish, and didn’t even get a menu for over 10 minutes. Both times I politely left(not cuz I’m a bitch, but cuz of time constraints). Promised myself to return when it’s slower for a true review, so here it is.

Stopped by here for brunch. They have like a table or two(i forgot) in the front and additional seatings in the back. The staff were really nice, made eye contact and checked on me frequently, refilling my water, etc. The menu was tough cos everything sounded so good. Too bad i only have one stomach I did notice some small crawlers near the back of the seating room where the plants were located. And i did also smell this strong scent when i first entered to the back to take a seat. The front didnt have that smell. It smelled almost like a dogs been there or lives there? The smell kind of subsided after awhile. Or maybe i got used to it. Not sure but hopefully it was jus a bad day i went and the smell isnt a normal thing!

Just got up and left this place. Came here with a friend and her baby(who was better behaved than our server) and were greeted with eye rolling and a cold shoulder. When we asked if they had any pastries, she looked at us and said, «Yeah but I don’t know which ones. You’ll have to go up to the front and see for yourself». That’s pretty shitty service for anyone, but to a mother with a baby, that’s just absurd. We ended up asking for our stuff to go.

Finally… a decent café right near me in South Slope. Bonus points as it continues the Australian baristas taking over NY theme. I’ve been missing my mashed avocado on toast and subtle chai lattes. My favourite part is the back section — it’s light and peaceful with lots of seating. The guys are friendly and smiling staff. There’s wifi. I’ll be here four times this week. Welcome to the hood!
