The Surf and Sand Oceanside Motel

thought it was great, my granddaughter had a great time and the room was fantastic, best swimming ever, will be back.

I will give this hotel 2 stars because it is a perfect location right on the beach and the upgraded rooms are very nice with half kitchens, but the women who is the management or owner of this place will make your stay a living hell. My fiancé and I visited our parents staying here last year when we were first approached by her screaming we could not visit hotel guests amenities were for paying guests only and we would be towed if we did not move our car. This year we booked our own room for the weekend (the penthouse mind you) and my parents booked their own room and we were treated the SAME way as the women who wrote the review above. Pounding on the door at 9pm accusing us of sneaking guests into the room and being disruptive when we were only enjoying dinner and some laughs on the patio. Ridiculous and unprofessional I will never give this place my business again!

This motel is in the perfect location; right on the beach, clean and a great place to get together with friends and family IF you can rise above the rude, unprofessional and extremely abrasive ownership. The front desk associate, Patrice is beyond accommodating. She answered our questions around parking and check in since our stay last year was unpleasant as the owner began having our cars towed and ticketed. We arrived to the motel this year with 4 friends, booked in April ready to give it another try. We filled out the appropriate paper work, checked in at three and kept neat and for the most part quiet. We received a bang on our door the 2^nd night @ 9 o’clock by the owner SCREAMING «OPEN UP NOW THAT’S IT… calling 911» frantically we swung open the door to a screaming woman running into our room accusing us of having a man run out the back door who was «staying with us» CALL 911!!! At this point the 4 girls staying in the room were all accounted for, in pjs after a great day completely taken back by the level of harassment. We then reminded the owner that the back door was dead bolted and there was no way a person could run through that door. Instead of taking the highroad, apologizing and offering us any form of compensation, she preceded to scream in our faces «YOU WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN». GOOD! After towing cars, calling the cops, watching us load into cabs and demanding we are back here by midnight so the police can run room headcounts, I’m all set with spending 300+ a night to be treated like a 14 year old away at summer camp. If I was 40 years old in that room with my children, best believe she would be signing a different tune. This woman is a nightmare. You can’t win with her and it’s a real shame because the motel is great.
