About Dr. Robert Kirk
The Self Correction Program ©, was developed by Dr. Robert D. Kirk, with over 50 years experience in public and clinical settings helping students and their families.
Dr. Kirk is a licensed clinical psychologist and a nationally certified school psychologist who specializes in the assessment and correction of learning difficulties.
Dr. Kirk earned his doctorate form the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, researching and testing the Self Correction Program ©. The results of his doctoral study indicated significant improvement in attention span and oral reading rate, while reducing anxiety.
Dr. Kirk is also the first to emphasize and demonstrate that making Mis-Takes, admitting Mis-Takes, accepting Mis-Takes and self correcting Mis-Takes is essential for learning. His research further emphasizes the positive impact that the family has on reading success.
