I just picked up a pair of shoes yesterday and was shocked at how amazing they look — like brand new. I thought about tossing them in the trash because they were in such bad shape after years of abuse. The gentleman at Sam’s convinced me they were good shoes and worth the work. They were in desperate need of new leather soles, as well as new heel tips and a shine. After I dropped them off I wondered if I had been scammed and he was just saying that to get the business — that’s how bad they were. However, when I picked them up the shoes looked like the day I bought them. The sole job is PERFECT and the pricing was great. That work is easy to screw up, so I know Sam’s are top professionals. Now that the season is changing and I’m pulling out shoes from last fall/​winter, I will be bringing them more business!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Wish I had read the other reviews before I took my light purple suede Birkenstocks in to be cleaned. Yes — I hiked in Sedona in them and they had become dirty & discolored — more of a light pink than a purple — due to the red dusty clay in Sedona. However, when I picked them up today (after waiting several weeks and receiving no phone call to let me know that they were done) they were two completely different colors! When I mentioned this — the owner was EXTREMELY RUDE and not at all apologetic that he ruined my shoes. One of them is a total new color — which I actually liked — but the shoes don’t match at all! I asked if there was any way that he could try to get the colors to match and he was not at all helpful and said NO. He also tried to tell me that the new color of the one shoe had to be the original color. Oh — and this new color shoe also has a completely different texture than the other shoe — as if the suede was damaged & all scruffed up during the cleaning process. Now — I understand that there are no guarantees and that things happen — however it was his rude attitude and complete lack of any type of customer service that make me want to tell everyone — DO NOT GO HERE ! ! ! ! !

Sam’s recently repaired a pair of boots that another shoe repair service said should be thrown out. My new favorite! The location is not convenient for me but worth the trip.

I dropped off my wedding shoes to have some minor dirt stains removed. I was assured that they would be able to remove said stains. When I picked up the shoes the owner aloofly said «well it looks like it didn’t come clean». It certainly did not, their were more stains on them then when I dropped them off. They used the inappropriate cleaner on them and said it was not a big deal that they were permanently ruined. I asked for my money back and he refused until I insisted he returned my pre-​paid money for the wedding shoes. Skip this place!

We have been going to Sam’s for years… when TEL-​TWELVE was around. I have not had an issue with them.
Recently, I took two pairs of sandals tried and true for a zipper replacement for one set and a new heel on the other set. I paid $ 43 for both. VERY out of range but because I TRUSTED them I felt it was worth the money.
Shoes ready in two days. I picked them up on 8÷3÷12. I wear one pair of shoes this past weekend and the sole is coming completely apart. Wore the other pair to work on Tuesday and the leather back of the sandal is completely undone. I wore them from the parking lot to my building.
I call SAM and speak with him telling him what happens, he tells me to bring them in. The younger guy in the back is at the front. I tell him that my shoes have issues that were never there when I dropped them off and they need to be repaired due to their workmanship. he even began to peel the sole of the shoe back more and made the slight sole gapping worse. What do I get? He says we didn’t do that and if you want me to fix them it will be $ 15 each.
So let me get this right. My sandals that I love are ruined due to poor workmanship. Then you will give me a «deal» for $ 30 more. SOoin total $ 73 for shoes. I don’t think so.
I wont be able to continue to support them because a business should stand behind their work. I literally did not touch these shoes and they are worse off than they were before I took them there. Due to this. I won’t be returning.

Nothing upsets me more than finding a chewed up heel, unable to endure the wear and tear of doing something crazy: walking around a parking lot of street in Farmington Hills, Bloomfield, Midtown. My favourite knee high boots were seeing a lot of care over the winter, so I dropped by Sam’s Shoe Service to remedy the problem.
My other shoe replacement service of choice, DSW, didn’t have anything on a good pair of boots that needed a bit of loving care. Polish, blacking, smoothing: a good shoe repairer can use his little bag of tricks to make boots look good as or better than new. I was quoted a reasonable price and committed to getting my everyday babies back in fine condition.
The wait wasn’t anything unusual, but the boots looked just so-​so. I got my heels back black, but the polish must not have set correctly. I got greyish streaks on my fingers for two or three days after having them back, and the heel’s core was visible through the newly applied polish when gently nicked. I could have done this myself without too much fuss.
Unfortunately, Sam’s does not sell leather shoes or goods for ladies. The discounted prices would be nice.

I broke the heel on my brand new boots:(So I needed to find a shoe repair shop. A friend of mind suggested Sam’s Shoe Service and so did the worker at DSW. Well I went in and they were really busy, but they were pleasant. So I left my boot and prepaid because of the 10% discount if you pay up front. Who wants to be left with a bunch of repaired shoes and no payment? I had to wait 5 days for pick up which to me was a long wait, but it is a small shoe service that I’ve heard good things about.
Unfortunately the workmanship was so-​so. He attached the heel back on (I broke it clean off). But my black, sexy boot had white glue visible on the areas that he glued it back together at!!! Not hot at all. To top it off there were spots of glue/​wax whatever he used on the actually boot. He takes it to the back and put black shoe polish on it (uneven at that). I took my boot (they don’t do refunds) and proceeded to go home & do my fix up on it. Not worth a 5 day wait and $ 22. Yes he did put the heel back on sturdy, but the little things matter especially for a woman and her boots.

Very pleased. Took a pair of old scuffed and faded leather boots and got back to the color I had forgotten they started as when new. Nice job. Only $ 9 if you prepay and $ 10 if you don’t for the clean and polish service.

Sam’s has been around forever, and it seems like everyone I talk to knows of him and his work. I typically buy a new pair of shoes as I need them but a couple years ago a colleague referred me to Sam to repair them instead of buying new ones. So I decided I would give repairing all of them a shot. After the second time, he told me about heel and toe taps. Heel and toe taps? I told him I don’t want to tap dance but he put them on anyway. I tried them out and haven’t had to replace the heel or soles on my shoes ever since. All you do is replace the taps every couple months at $ 3 a pop. Thanks Sam you saved me a lot of cash! He does a helluva shine service as well. I took a trashed pair of dry, cracking, salt stained, dress shoes just to see what he could do with them. I got them back and they looked practically new. I was amazed. Now, obviously if you didn’t pay much for your shoes it probably won’t be worth it. But for expensive shoes it’s definitely worth it. Eventually you will have to replace your shoes, but at least with Sam around you won’t have to for a long time. By the way, he also sells all types of shoes, boots, accessories, belts, socks etc. all for really good discounted prices.

It’s a girl’s worst nightmare. You go to the closet to find your oh so shiek but cute flip-​flops. You know the pair, the ones you paid more for than your average pair of flip flops. You pull them out and notice that your flip has seen its last flop. An entire outfit will go back into waiting because the shoes are damaged. Hmpph! That’s where Sam’s Shoe Service comes in. I took my flip flops in with my fingers crossed because I feared they were not repairable. Sam took a look and said, «No problem, $ 18 bucks». Schewwww. A couple of days later I picked them up and they were like new. This is a family owned business that has been around for years. The service is always excellent. Besides shoe repair they also carry men’s and women’s shoes and maintenance kits for your shoes. If there’s a problem with your shoes take ‘em to Sam.
