Monro Muffler Brake & Service

Went in for brakes and rotors on my Nox. Manager gave me a good quote (I think it was based on a coupon or special they were having). Anyways, The wait time was pretty long. The manager was professional and friendly, however, this review is based on the employee who worked on my SUV. Whom ever it was, went through my center counsel and took a few bucks in change. I specifically took it from my cup holder, where it was out in the open and placed it in the center counsel. When I arrived home, I went to get the change and it was gone. I called and talked with the manager about the incident. He told me that Monro does not condone this type of behavior and he would follow up. The incident ended there. I did not receive a call back nor did I follow up. Obviously stopped going there after that.

Asked for a quote to repair my AC, was quoted $ 1,700 for a compressor replacement, evac, recharge and new seals. Thankfully went elsewhere for a second opinion, compressor was not bad, and was again blowing nice cold air for less than $ 200.
My prior experiences were better and pushed the stars to two.

I’ve gone to the Southington Monro about four or five times now for oil changes and brakes. I’ve been really impressed with the customer service, with the managers making sure I understand the work done, why it was needed, and breaking down the invoice. I especially appreciated them showing me on my car what the issue was with my brakes, which assured me that the work was indeed needed.
I had my oil changed on 3÷17÷15, and when the wrong oil was recorded on the service sheet, the manager Andrew made sure to go pull the oil cans to show me that the correct oil had actually been used. And due to the slip up, he gave me a coupon for my next service (even though they had actually done everything correctly, just written it down wrong). This isn’t the first time I’ve had their managers go that extra step, and it’s that level of customer service that will keep me coming back.

Took my car in at about 3:30– 3:40 pm. I went in tonight to get new tires. Came out at 7:00 fuming telling me there is a barring that needs to be change. The guy knew I needed to be in NY to pick my son up. He told me about this when he picked me up to get my car from his shop.
What I don’t understand 1. How come it takes so long to put 4 new tires on and 2. why didn’t he let me know the minute he noticed it. I will never go here again and will let everyone I know to avoid this place. I normally go to Mad Hatter but they were closed today, and needed new tires before the snow storm.
I recommend MAD HATTER 176 QUEEN STREET, SOUTHINGTON. They are very knowledgeable and great customer service and wont rip you off like MONRO MUFFLER ON 445 QUEENS STREET, SOUTHINGTON.

The manager Jason was very honest with us when we got new brakes. He runs a very smooth operation. We were very upset with Monro in Bristol after they hired a new manager who only wanted to rip their customers off. Bristol quoted over $ 1, 000 for brakes. We ended up paying less than half of that in Southington. We were pleasantly surprised with the Southington Monro and will continue to bring our business here.

I had the same exact issue with the oil change and tire rotation as the previous reviewer. I had a blow out on a tire so my front tires are a different brand from my rear (they have close to the same wear). When I checked to see if there were rotated after the car was ready, I noticed they were not. When I walked back inside to ask them to rotate, the service guy’s reply was «it was not needed.» Well, if that was the case, would you have told me before I walked out? My rears have a bit more tread (front wheel drive) so it was clear this was a BS excuse. I will never go back.

dropped my car off for oil change and tire rotation… asked to make sure i was getting a tire rotation before I left my car to go shopping… and the manager said yes. Came back to pick up my car, paid for it, went to the stores down the street. .and took a quick look at my tires. well, it wasn’t rotated. Called back, manager said to bring it back and he’ll check. and it was indeed not rotated and the tech had lied about the tire depth measurements on the workorder. How did I know? because I marked the tires before I left to be sure that it did get rotated and I don’t get taken by some lazy mechanics. All the manager said was sorry, I’ll make sure I’ll address it. blah blah blah… no offer for discount for the next oil change. nothing at all. What the manager fail to realize is, being a car repair shop, your reputation is the most important thing to your business… you allow your tech to ruin your reputation as a business. Most people hate car repair shops to begin with.

No. Just no. I waited at least five minutes at the front desk where multiple employees saw me and/​or walked by me without ever even saying a «be with you in a second» or «what can I help you with», etc. I walked out eventually. Also, my dad took his truck here and they LOST the key to it. Really? Anywhere else but here.
