Great work but very overpriced. Had a toilet and flange replaced. I bought the toilet myself at Home Depot. The job was over $ 900 to replace the flange and set the toilet.

I originally said: «The plumbing services provided by Benjamin Franklin plumbing in Southlake, TX are vastly overpriced. A job that would cost $ 150 – 200 from most plumbers will cost $ 250 – 300 at Benjamin Franklin. They don’t charge extra for weekend calls, but the money you save on that doesn’t touch their huge markup on everything else. The work they do is fine, but you can get the same quality of work elsewhere for much cheaper.» I stand by that review. As a consumer, I don’t care about the cost of being open 24⁄7. I doubt anyone can prove the claim that you provide the«highest qualified and safest technicians in the state of Texas»(that certainly wasn’t what I saw). What matters to me is how well you do the job and how much you charge to do it. My work was done in late 2011. At that time, I didn’t have the luxury to shop around — it was an emergency situation, and I had to take whoever could show up the fastest on that particular day. Knowing what I now do, I wish I had picked the next-choice plumber, who would have arrived an hour later and charged me a $ 50 weekend fee, but in the end would have cost half as much. I found it interesting that the plumber actually apologized for the final price, rather than trying to justify it, and admitted that the company’s services were unusually high. He was obviously very embarrassed. I ended spending a few thousand dollars on a job that really should have been in the one thousand dollar range. The point of my review is to warn others who might have the luxury of shopping around for a day or two. Whether the company is willing to refund my money or not is irrelevant — what is important is that their basic pricing is far higher than other, equally competent plumbers in the area.
