Love this place! Clean, great service… we always have a great time!!! They are animal lovers too which wins points with us!!!

This is the bar you find popping up in every neighborhood around Reno and Sparks where there is a ton of residential and only a few businesses. These neighborhoods are prime for a great neighborhood watering hole, and aspiring business owners think all it takes is a bar, some booze, and pool table to make one successful.
When we walked in I was greeted by a growl from the bartender’s pit bull, who was parked on an old sofa. Ya… I said it and it happened.
At 9 on a Friday night, there was no music playing, Family Guy was on the TVs behind the bar, and the only soul in the place was an extremely inebriated man seated at a table by the window repeatedly going through the same set of instructions via speaker phone on his cell phone.
They had cheap domestic pitchers on draft, so we grabbed a couple of those and went over to the pool table. The bartender gave us some money to get the jukebox going and bought us a few games of pool to get us going, and keep us drinking. We ended up having a good time and all told, we brought in about 10 people that night. The only other person to walk in while we were there was the bartender’s buddy, who was delivering Jack in the Box to him.
I was really appreciative of the fact the bartender did so much to help us have fun there. If anything this place won me over on service, but they need more to keep people coming back. I want to see these places succeed, and in order to, they need to offer more.

What a great little neighborhood bar! The staff is super friendly and personable– including the pit bull, Turbo, the bar «mascot.» The drinks are reasonable priced, as well. Only paid $ 3 for a vodka-​tonic. The bartender, Matthew, kept on offering me shots on the house.
I don’t spend much time drinking and hanging out in Sparks but in the future, when I do, I will definitely be at Bar Code.
