History

Established in 1999.

Rick D. Williams is a fifth-​generation native Nevadan who treasures and honors his family’s deep roots in our community. After graduating from the University of Nevada — Reno in 1984 with degrees in business marketing and finance, he worked as a licensed real estate salesman in Sparks, where he developed interest in business contracts and negotiation and settlement skills.

Following law school in 1993, Rick worked as a judicial law clerk in the Washoe County District Court where exposure to a variety of legal fields led him to a career in litigation. After several years in the «big firms» as an insurance defense trial attorney, Rick chose to go solo and expand his practice to include real estate law, small business representation, estate planning and probate, and to represent injured parties against the insurance companies he previously had served.

Lead attorney, Rick D. Williams, Esq., is a native Nevadan, born and raised in Elko. Educated in the public school system, he moved to the «big city» of Reno to attend the University of Nevada and pursue a business degree, which he completed in 1984. While at the University, Rick met his bride, Leah, who is also a native Nevadan, and they have now been married 35 years with two children who were also University of Nevada students.

Rick has deliberately kept his practice small and personal, so that when you contact this office, you will speak with your attorney, and not just a receptionist, who refers you to a secretary, who must ask the question of a paralegal, who passes it off to a law clerk, who gives advice that may or may not be correct and complete. That is the frustration many clients experience in dealing with big firms, and WILL NOT occur at the Law Offices of Frederick D. (Rick) Williams, Chtd.
