Terrible service and rude salespeople. Wanted a washer drain hose and was told they did not have one.
After much prodding from my unhappy wife the person behind the counter went to look for one. They had the one we needed but again the service people were very rude. If I end up needing any appliances or anything else for that matter it certainly would NOT be from Whitco. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I don’t care what their prices are. LOUSY, LOUSY, LOUSY.

The person working there was very rude and unhelpful just pointed to areas. when I asked if this was different kind than was sold at a large super store because they didn’t keep things cold he stated they were and then explained why when in fact there were the brand name and model but only $ 20 more I didn’t appreciated rudeness or his lying

I’ve been shopping here for at least 25 years and I’ve always surprised that they manage to keep such a wide selection at better prices than major corporations like Walmart and Best Buy. The difference here is that Bill knows what he’s talking about. He’s not just a kid working his weekend job till he can find something better. He’s been doing this for as long as I can remember and knows more about electronics and appliances than anyone around. Support your local business before our towns turn into barren Walmart solar systems!

Absolutely first class. Ive bought two entire appliance sets from here now. The first time I did more research and running around price checking than any normal human being ever should. My last stop was Whitco. Bill worked with me on the prices, beat every place I had been to, and got me a tremendous amount of mail in rebates (around $ 700 if i recall). Delivery crew as well was top notch. Joe brought everything in without a single glitch or mess whatsoever. After the job was done he took us through the operation/​features of every piece of equipment, (all the way down to maintenance and changing filters/​parts as needed) and even gave us pointers on how to properly clean them so you dont get streaks on the stainless steel. Haha. During this time we were in the process of moving in. Before leaving, the guys helped me carry a few dressers and heavier items upstairs.
I even recently had a malfunctioning dishwasher… after 2 months of fighting with LG and after 5 repairs, i called Bill. I had a new dishwasher in my kitchen in 4 days…11 months after the purchase. Whitco goes above and beyond any store you will ever find. I am proud to support this local business, as its operation is a model for other businesses to follow.

This place has the best prices around. My wife and I searched all the big box stores and even some places in Worcester for kitchen appliances and washer/​dryer but Whitco was way cheaper. We saved a good chunk of change by going local.
The sales guys are not pushy like most salespeople. Knowledgeable on the stuff they sell.
They have rebates that no one else told us about. We got back over $ 1,100 in rebates. Overall a great place to buy

So went to grab an adaptor for a dishwasher because it didn’t get delivered with the dishwasher at an apartment I own… googled the piece $ 2 – 4 at Home Depot, lowes ect figured I would save some time driving so I stopped at whitco, after all I have purchased appliances from here previously, when I got here I spoke with the owner and he went and grabbed me the adaptor and was ringing me out…$ 12+…I said maybe that’s not the right piece they only cost a couple bucks at Home Depot and lowes… he replies where are you coming from… I said spencer… his response well have a nice drive to worcester and he walks away… really great customer service way to win over a new local resident… I went to klems down the road $ 3.59 same piece

Do yourself a favor and keep driving until you get to Home Depot for appliances. This place sells junk. Save yourselves the headaches. So disappointed

If you are looking for a bicycle and aren’t a real hard core enthusiast, I would highly recommend the trip out to Spencer. We found an excellent bike for my daughter to take back to college that when we priced it online, was about $ 100 cheaper at Whitco. The environment is a little weird, with stuff stacked all the way up to the ceiling, but the customer service was excellent. No complaining about taking them out as we tried out about 15 different bikes (my daughter is quite short and most standard frames are too big). Kids bikes seem to be a steal too.

I love Whitco! I bought my washer and dishwasher from them four years ago when I first bought my house! I went back after checking prices elsewhere for refrigerators.
Bill at Whitco was helpful and gave me a great deal. When the guys delivered it and well, let’s just say they were less than perfect about getting my frig in, Bill took care of me. My father just bought all his new appliances from them as well and my father is not easy to please!

We purchased a fridge from this store 10 months ago. This week, the fridge started malfunctioning. Not the store’s fault. The repair guy, after looking at the fridge, informed us that it was over two years old and most likely refurbished. We bought this fridge thinking it was new, for the very new price of $ 1200. Repair guy said he sees this all the time when on service calls for appliances purchased from Whitco. Now I am fighting with the manufacturer trying to get the needed repairs covered under warranty and wondering what recourse I have.
We went to this store because we wanted to shop at a local business rather than the big box stores. Well, this place gives the good mom and pops a very bad name. I should have trusted my gut which said «run» when I saw how cluttered the place was. I am a wheelchair user and could barely get though the front door. Not sure why the fire marshall hasn’t shut them down yet. It’s really dangerous.
If you want to shop local for your appliances, go to Penney’s in Sturbridge. That’s where we would have went but they happened to be closed over the July 4^th holiday and we were desparate.

This is a very SMALL, family owned and operated store. It is not really handicapped accessible so don’t bring anyone who isn’t steady on their feet or any small children who might grab at things or get stomped on because an adult didn’t see the child at their feet.
If you want a good price and know what you are there to purchase then this is the place for you. If you hate crowds then I suggest going in the day before a big sale tax (like the tax free holiday) to pick out your purchases ahead of time.
On big sale days don’t expect to get too much help because they have a small staff who can’t help more than a few people at a time. However, unlike a large corporation, you are dealing directly with the owners of the business or people who can quickly find you the owners to talk to, if you have an issue or question.
They specialize in selling appliances (Fridges, air conditioners, and so on) and bicycles. You can purchase high end bicycles or low end bicycles. Just talk to the owner and they can find or make what you are looking for. The difference with them and a large store like Walmart or Target is that they have people who know what they are doing and the bikes are built correctly.

My wife and I have bought several appliances at Whitco over the last 3 or 4 years. Washer, Dryer, & Oven/​Stove. The best thing about the place is it’s no muss, no fuss, and very competitive prices (as compared with other B & M stores as well as the likes of Amazon). The owners will give you a run down on what each item will and won’t do and thankfully there is no high pressure sales tactics or push for one to buy the ever dreaded «extended warranty». Whitco won’t win any store glitz awards, but the bottom line is you can get what you want at a decent price. Final note: Delivery has always been within a day or so and has always arrived on time.

My husband and I went to Whitco to purchase appliances for our new house. They had the best prices and a great selection but it took them two and a half weeks to deliver. We were told that things would be delivered within the week. It ended up holding up our builder and the signing process. Communication was not their forte either. All in all a good place and we love to shop local but you have to keep on them.

Whitco is unlike any other store I’ve ever been to. It is very «Central Mass» and definitely very old-​school. The place doesn’t look all that big from the outside, but it is a maze like environment, with inventory stacked high up to the ceiling. I recently bought an LG 37″ 1080P LCD TV there for $ 399, when the absolute lowest price listed anywhere else for this model # was $ 529 — Amazon, Best Buy, and plenty of online retailers I’ve never heard of — none less than $ 529, and some over $ 650.
The owner has been in the store every time I’ve been there, and he has been very helpful. I highly recommend Whitco to anybody in the general Worcester area looking for appliances, TVs, etc. They also sell lots of bikes and toys.
