Have you ever enjoyed a wine tasting where EVERYONE is amazing? You will here! Great wines now and yet to come. We have so enjoyed our time here. The«Good Guy» wine is worth the drive and it’s touching to know this wine is in honor of the owner’s grandfather. Family is where it counts

Great wine, great service and an amazing value for a wine tasting. Wine tasting was $ 10, which included 7 tastings. Staff was amazingly friendly and informative. The location is just beautiful. The wine was great, not a bad one in the flight. I would highly recommend this for your next tasting in the Texas Hill Country!

Cabernet Claret– extremely food friendly and just a great sipping red wine. Estate Tempranillo and their Tempranillo are some of the finest wines in Texas. They got a formula and it keeps getting better. Great place to go hang out and have some amazing wines. Plus the staff knows everything about what goes in those bottles so sit back relax and enjoy.

My husband and I came here last September for the Wicked Wine 5K. As a runner and wine enthusiast I was really excited about this run. The course was through the woods/field behind the Vineyard and then at the end you run through the vineyard. They had just cut the course through the hay and so my poor husband was suffering from a major allergy attack during the race. It took a huge effort on his part to finish the race and luckily I had an Allegra in my purse for him. Loved that you end the race with a glass of wine(red or white) and then you could also do a wine tasting walking 1K. We got to try 4 wines. Fast forward to last weekend. We came on Saturday and they were hosting another 5K. Unfortunately the weather caused them to cancel the race itself. Lovely vineyard and tasting room. Very picturesque. Even though it was storming outside, we enjoyed a wine tasting of all of their wines for $ 10 and got a souvenir glass. The first page of wine was my favorite with the voignier and claret as the 2 that stood out. They had crackers on the table. There were also cheese plates and some other snacks and drinks. Would definitely come back. Maybe for a 5K.

I’m badly remiss in not posting a positive review for almost a year; what’s more this is one of my personal favorite wineries in Texas Hill Country. It’s time I corrected this. Spicewood has one of my personal favorite tasting rooms; while on the inside it’s nothing special, the outside grounds and seating mimic an upscale, modern country house that I could see myself living in(*cough cough* once I win the lottery *cough cough*). There’s also a cool little stream they have running through the place so you can hear the sound of running or falling water when you sit to have a sip. Nice touch. Spicewood’s won a bunch of awards for various wines but the two standouts IMO are their 2013 Syrah and their Riesling, which has a fruity taste and a magnificent green-apple crisp bouquet. Note: As of May 2016, their site does not show the Riesling for sale, so I’d call ahead if you want to taste it. As an added bonus, it’s only 10 minutes away from It’s All Good and Opie’s, both of whom have some of my favorite BBQ outside the Austin area.

Attended a wedding here 2 weeks ago and it was a really beautiful space. Plus, the wine was delicious. The drive may seem a little daunting, but I split an Über two-ways(no DWIs for me, plz!) and ended up only dropping $ 20 a person.

A very pleasant tasting room, a knowledgeable and friendly server, and a solid lineup of wines using Texas grapes is a recipe for a very good tasting experience. We used the bar area for our tasting but their is ample space beyond that. Our server walked us through the wines, providing great insights as well as some tasting notes. One of the best things we learned is they primarily use estate or Texas grapes for almost all of their wines. Even though their Granache was from Washington, they used it to learn how to blend their own estate grapes once they’ve matured. Oh yeah, they also have the standard winery dog! Worth your time to explore.

This place is such a gem. I don’t even drink and had a blast walking around the grounds, learning about wines, and playing with the dogs. Daniel was a great host. Very informative, fun, and easy to talk to. He explained the differences between the different wines to the group. Now I know that rosé isn’t just mixing red and white wine, thanks Daniel. The tasting is worth every penny. The store inside is great as well. GETTHE T-shirt! Get like ten of them, they are so comfy. I’m sad I only got one because its so darn comfy. I picked up amazing flavored mustards, and yummy smelling soaps as well. The wines everyone said were amazing. My husband brought some back for his wine loving dad and he loved them. Thank you for making some new yorkers feel right at home and for getting us to relax a bit. We definitely will be back.

This was our last stop of the day on a surprise, quick trip out of Houston by my boyfriend. He’s been here before and loved it. I immediately fell in love too! I wasn’t disappointed by any of the wines. We had a bottle of the Frost Protection and bought a couple of bottles to go. The tasting room is spacious and all of the staff were very friendly. We got one on one attention during our tasting. The outside is just as welcoming as the inside. We sat by the water and enjoyed the fantastic February weather and the wine. I can’t wait to go back!

A hidden gem. Spicewood is one the best Texas wineries. We have been too many wineries in the region and Spicewood is one of our favorites. Great family atmosphere.

A group of us did a DIY Winery tour last Saturday, this is the first stop. It is about 90 mins from San Antonio. $ 10(tax included) for 8 tastes(I think), we all loved the Cabernet Sauvignon, so we got a bottle for us to enjoy sitting outside, which is beautifully landscaped. We liked the place so much that we ended up staying way too long and had to skip few other wineries that were on the itinerary for the day.

Spicewood has definitely improved their wine game within the last year. They have a good rose, white, and Tempranillo. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun. You can take kids, dogs, food-whatever you need for the perfect picnic. We sat outside with live music but they have plenty of inside seating as well. I like this vineyard and will continue to come back.

We had a good time trying the different Texas wines. The man who poured and explained all the different wines for us was very nice! He is also very travelled he told us he use to live in Japan. That is good because diversity is always a plus in my book. We ended up buying two bottles of the Riesling wine. We enjoyed the tasting it cost $ 10.00 per person for a tasting and that a lone can get you acting silly and buzzed.

Spicewood is tucked away at the end of a winding ranch road, and you’ll cross over several cattle guards on the way there. The tasting room has a beautiful shady patio where you can enjoy a glass of your favorite wine and a view of the lush sauvignon blanc vineyards. The service was very friendly, and the tasting fee of $ 10 for 7 tastes was reasonable. The wines were OK, with the white wines the highlight. There were several nice T-shirts on the wall that were mostly out of stock. They were playing some Beastie Boys, which I thought made a jarring clash with the lush scenery out the window. Overall, worth a stop, if only for the pretty drive and nice patio.

Spicewood Vineyards is about 30 minutes outside Austin in the Texas Hill Country. Located just off State Hwy 71. The winery grows a Sauvignon and Tempranillo grapes as well as grapes from the high plains area. Spicewood offers tours of the winery/pressing room with advanced reservations. They offer a tasting of 8 wines for $ 10pp and a selection of cheeses pared to your wine choice. You can also choose a glass of wine and enjoy the outdoor patio over looking the vineyards. The only«growth opportunity» I noticed was the selection of music. The music playing was more of a rock station and not complimentary to a relaxing atmosphere for a winery.

I planned a hill country wine tour for my aunt that came to visit. My whole family joined the trip for a fun day roaming the countryside! Spicewood was hands down everyone’s favorite vineyard. Heck, everyone brought home a bottle of something from Spicewood Vineyards because the wine was so good. I sadly can’t drink wine, but there was plenty of great art in the tasting room and plenty of comfortable spots to wait as everyone enjoyed their tasting. The people here are super friendly, passionate about their wines and glad to share their knowledge of their product. I think everyone loved this stop the most because it was more casual and laid-back feeling. From the cabin-like feel of the tasting building with it’s large chairs and living room feel to the outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful vineyard, you can’t go wrong. The price was really good for the tasting and even the wines had an approachable price tag. Highly recommend Spicewood Vineyards!
