B&B Driving School

The office and test sites are managed by twenty-​something kids who lack long-​term driving experience, management and customer service skills. I took the written ($ 20) and skills test ($ 55, private vehicle; $ 35 elsewhere) at the Wellesley location. The examiner did a wonderful job at being non-​human.
They give each person an examination expectation and policy sheet which reads, ‘You are expected to be able to demonstrate what is considered «best practice» during the driving examination.’ The following is my story.
Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 4:30pm, Wellesley location. Having come to the end of the skills test, the examiner instructed to turn left on Monroe. Having done so, I noticed no posted speed limit signs on this stretch of road. Unfamiliar with Spokane, I instinctively used the «Adjusting to Traffic» principle (Washington Driver Guide, page 66) adjusting my speed to «keep pace with traffic» targeting 35 mph. Once the test ended, without any deductions, I was informed I failed due to violating the law. I was going 36 in a 30 mph zone.
It is my belief B and B Driving School deliberately chose this route to trick people (A guiding principle of Washington DOL is «We will not try to confuse or trick you», page 8). I also find it odd no deductions were made during the drive test; was there an expectation of failure due to violating the speed limit law and so no effort was made to grade the skills test as the test occurred or am I just that good? After this incident I chose another driving school. The examiner deducted points in real-​time as he saw mistakes (I’m happy to say I passed the skills test even with deductions).
I called the main office to file a complaint. The manager on duty, Rob, was pleased to argue in favor of his examiners decision to fail me citing it was my responsibility to know Spokane traffic speed zones even if I am unfamiliar with the area, from out of town or if no speed limit signs are posted. This violates their code and expectation of «best practice», calls into question their business ethics and reasonableness. Yet after reasoning with him citing from Washington Drivers Guide booklet he gave me a hypothetical dismissing my concern.
Judge for yourself if you think it’s worth the risk, your time and money.

So first off when I went in there I gave a guy my papers I signed them I asked him how his day was and then he replies with attitude I’m fine we go out to my car and after all the hand signals and checking my lights we start to back out and he tells me to take a right at the Rock I look around I’m looking for a decorative Boulder or something and no he means a pebble in the middle of the street already right off he had really vague instructions. He could have just asked me to take a right on the residential street but he felt that this rock was better instructions then as we’re going along with the test he tells me to take a left and it was one of those lights or yield on green I pulled into the intersection my light was still green I was waiting for the oncoming traffic to clear my light turned red once the oncoming traffic stopped on their red light I went. This is where he failed me and I get why but when he told me why he failed me he never explained what I should have done which should be part of a driving instructors job then he toke my 55 bucks and ran worst experience I’ve ever had this guy was super unprofessional and arrogant and if this guy doesn’t want to have to deal with the public he should go pack boxes in a f****** factory horrible experience and that’s an understatement!!! If he had been on fire and I had a bucket of water I drink the water! Big middle finger to that guy I can’t read what is name is on his s***** signature but the number that follows it is 1631 avoid this guy at all costs!!! Oh also this was the wellesley location not the grand boulevard location

I wished I was able to give out ZERO stars! Don’t waste your time or money with these people. Very unprofessional, very rude, and very castigating! A very unpleasant experience! I ended up going to Interface Driving Academy. They were just the opposite of B&B.

Went here for my step son to do his general knowledge test and sign up for drivers education. Mr. Wilson was the person we spoke to. He was one of the most unprofessional people I have met in a town of very nice people. This is a place I would never ever do business with let alone turn him loose with my son to teach him how to drive. I can’t say enough how strongly I encourage you to stay away from this place. We went to 911 driving school it was less expensive and just a much better environment.
