Gold Seal Plumbing

Excellent service with our plumbing repair! Gold Seal was efficient and pleasant in confirming the appointment time, even gave us a courtesy call to let us know our plumber was on his way. When Rob arrived he was friendly and personable from start to finish, informative of the requirements to get us up to speed on our sink issue, and thorough with his work. Upon completion we were in far better condition than when we started. We couldn’t have hoped for a better experience!

Troy W was a true professional. He was fast, showed why things needed to be fixed, and gave advice.
If I ever need work done again, I’m asking for Troy W.

Did not show up for my appoint. Does anybody know of a decent reliable plumber? So far no luck with good customer service in plumbing in Spokane valley.

One star because he was on time. From there it was all downhill. After holding me up to the point where I couldn’t call for other bids because he wouldn’t be the job by the hour and needed to wait until he got a parts quote I was handed and estimate of 1771.00. I was told that the job might take as long as a day and a half to fix my water line. And because I didn’t have water under duress I signed the estimate. After two hours of waiting for the right part to be delivered the job took a total of one and a half hours. I assumed that I would be charged much less and I was not only charged the 1771 after tax it was just under $ 2,000 and he had been at my house less than 4 hours. 2 hours of which were waiting for parts.
Out of complete frustration and not even being able to sleep much that night I stopped payment on my check and demanded to meet with an owner. When I met with the service manager they told me that they do not and will not quote and hourly rate. And the jobs are bid by the job and never by the hour. So I told him how about if I pay you guys $ 200 an hour instead of $ 500 an hour? My bill was adjusted by $ 1,350. The man who started this company was a long time member of my church and a man who would never take advantage of a customer. All of that has been lost with his kids. He would be embarrassed.

We just sold our house and had to have a plumber come in to fix a couple of leaks. One was in our stand-​up crawl space and the other was a kitchen faucet that was leaking. John and Joey showed up today and they were very friendly. They were professional and checked out the areas that I planned to have them fix. They were very transparent about what they were planning to do. It took the guys about 3 hours to fix the issues, with about about 30 min of it waiting for someone to get back to them on a part, and a standard 15 min break.
So with great service, why only two stars? The price. Holy cow… I’m in the wrong business! John and Joey did an awesome job, but there’s no way I could ever recommend this company for the price charged. We’re talking like $ 900 for labor, a 3″ 90 degree elbow, and a $ 20 part. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the service… but I expected my bill to be less than ½ the price that it was. Good service, but I’d never recommend them at the price they charge.

Yikes! We had one simple clog and were quoted over $ 500, we had a second opinion come in and it was more like a $ 150 problem. So glad we didn’t go with gold seal on this one:) The guy who came was friendly so at least it was not a miserable experience.

Bill did a great job. He was extremely professional and friendly. He had a great working, historical, and practical knowledge of what was going on in our 1930’s built cottage — not an easy job. I will absolutely be requesting him if I have any issues in the future.

Over the years I’ve had Gold Seal plumbing do a few different plumbing projects. They are always attentive to detail and courteous and do fine work. I recently hired them again for a plumbing project. They completed the plumbing the task in a prompt manner and I am satisfied with the job. What I wasn’t pleased with is the priced they charged for an hours worth of work. Again I’m very pleased with the work… Just the price appears to have been way more than what it should have been. That’s my only real complaint with Gold Seal Mechanical. Be prepared to pay top dollar.

My husband and I have used Gold Seal for many years (25+) and had great experiences. During the past year, however, we haven t been so happy. On two separate occasions we have called Gold Seal for a repair in our home. The first was a garage disposal, the cost $ 650. Ouch! Okay, we thought it was something special about the work — no. The second was to repair two leaking toilets and a leaking sink. The plumber replaced parts in the toilets, but only added washers to the sink, cost $ 860. Double ouch! I agree I approved the repairs, however, I trusted Gold Seal to be fair and honest. Gold Seal was less than fair and honest. I contacted two contractors, one general — one plumbing, paid for their time, reviewed the work with them the cost should have been between $ 700 and $ 775 — maximum. I can’t recommend Gold Seal. I would like to add an additional comment. After the repairs were checked by the other two contractors, we discovered one of the toilets had been cracked. The plumbing contractor, we didn’t hire verified for us the toilet was not cracked prior to Gold Seal’s work, after Gold Seal’s work the toilet was cracked. Why didn’t the plumber just tell us he had cracked the toilet? But to charge us too! You need an appropriate review!

I called Gold Seal based on reviews on Unilocal,specifically comments regarding affordability, timeliness, and quality. I have a rental that had a problem with the shower faucet. They were able to come out the next day, and although I forgot to ask, the estimate was free without obligation. The issue I have with their service, which I opted not to use, was the following: the plumber called me with the diagnosed problem, that being it needed a new cartridge, and quoted a price of over $ 300! I thought it to be high and wanted a second estimate. My renter had a friend who took a look at it and found that the plumber had also failed to notice that the handle was stripped out. So I hunted down the parts, which only cost $ 80, and did it myself. Even though I’m not especially handy I watched a how to video on You Tube and was able to complete repair on 20 mins! So how they can justify $ 300+ I have no idea. Consumer beware!

In 2005 when I first moved into my home, I hired Gold Seal Plumbing to install a disposal and hook up a better drain line in the laundry room. This was done without any problems except he didn’t like my choice of disposals. I wanted the one with higher horse power, and he didn’t see the need. It was my money, I thought I could spend it where I wanted to. He was so upset with me that he did a lousy job plumbing in the drain lines. It was so bad that I had to go and buy new drain lines and re-​do the drain lines myself. Thankfully my father was a plumber and I could do the job easily. I would NEVER hire Gold Seal Mechanical Plumbers again for anything.

I had the belief that my water heater wasn’t putting out ample hot water. I called around town for estimates expecting I’d need a new heater. Gold Seal was the third company I phoned. The woman that answered with a very professional attitude said they’d be glad to send out a plumber at no charge to take a look at my water heater. I set an appointment for the next day and «Joe’ (no joke, Joe the Plumber) showed up right on time. He put on booties (shoe covers) as my water heater is located upstaris in a closet, we live in a downtown condominium. I had turned the power off to the heater so he could safely test it which he did using a meter to look at the thermostat etc.
He said everything looks fine though its nearing the end of its normal life cycle as its 10 years old — he said in our area they consider 7 – 12 years normal.
I told him I take long showers, wash something nearly every day and run the dishwasher daily. I have a showerhead that puts out 5 gal per minute (no water saver showerhead for me). He said at that rate its only going to give me 10 minutes of hot water — with a 50 gal tank.
Bottom line — no charge he said I am ok with what I have and call them if it deteriorates. And, buy yourself a watersaver 2.5 gal per minute showerhead — I was obviously happy to hear that and was appreciative he didn’t try and sell me something I didn’t need.
Gold Seal has my business !!!

I called to make an appointment for somebody to come out and give me an estimate for some work that needed to be done to a home I was in the process of buying, the gentleman on the phone refused. He stated he needed the homeowner’s permission to come give an estimate. When I explained it was in fact a bank owned home and that my home inspector advised getting estimates before closing, he said «Then get the bank to make the appointment» and hung up. Real top notch professionals here. I would avoid at all costs.
