Under original ownership Wally Egger’s Meats is owned by Wally & Kathy Egger and has been serving Spokane’s Northside Since 1952.

Wally Egger’s Meats sell a wide variety of specialty meats that includes on site smokehouse products such as hams, turkeys and our famous pepperoni sticks and jerky. Our fresh and delicious steaks, stuffed pork chops and sausages cannot be beat! We also offer convenient and affordable deli sandwiches & salads for a quick and easy stop for lunch. To top off your steak dinner pick up a bottle of red wine or micro brews from our large selection. Our friendly butchers and counter staff are always happy to help with any request.

History

Established in 1952.

Since 1952 the original Egger’s Good Meats was opened by John J. Egger and was located in the Chet’s Food Store on North Wall. His oldest son Wally started working there when he was 6 years old. He had to stand on a wooden apple box so he could see over the counter and help people!

John J. Egger and his son Wally moved Egger’s Good Meats to its present location in 1969. After Wally had graduated from Gonzaga in Business he became partners with his dad John. They worked as a team side by side until Wally eventually bought john Egger’s share when he was ready to retire. Wally, Kathy, and their daughters Jenny and Sonja worked and ran the store until it was sold it to Greg Traband (the sausage maker and manager) in 1992.

Wally and Kathy Egger bought it back in January of 2008. They have restored the old recipes and quality of the meat as well as added numerous convenient and specialty products.
