Peck’s Farm Market East

Peck’s Farm Market has become a fall tradition for our family. It’s located just outside of Spring Green, WI, a short drive from Middleton/​Cross Plains. Admission is free to walk back behind the market where they have many animals including some adorable prairie dogs, deer and an elk. You are free to roam around the farm area where they also have some fun haunted house-​like buildings and a play structure for kids. This year they have added a charge of one dollar per child to use the bounce house, er, bounce pumpkin and one dollar per person to ride the train on the weekends, both which are totally reasonable costs, in my opinion. They have a brat stand on the weekends and tons of food option in the market. My favorite part, however, is the plethora of different pumpkins and gourds they have available — there are all kinds of cool varieties of pumpkins that aren’t as readily available as the traditional orange ones. These make great fall decorations! The prices in the market and on the produce are a little higher than your average grocery store, however, considering that 95% of the other activities at Peck’s are free, I don’t mind paying a little more for my pumpkins. Everyone we have encountered at Peck’s has been friendly and helpful and it’s clear that they pride themselves on being a fun, family-​oriented business.

This is a cute little farm market that also has deer and prairie dogs that you can feed. It is good to note that the place is not enclosed and does not have a/​c. They have a lot of fresh produce as well as baked goodies (cookies, pies, etc.). Prices were reasonable and they accept credit cards.

Wow I’m surprised to see another review for this place!
We went here on a Sunday and were super happy no one was there. We picked feed up off the ground (too cheap to pay the quarter for it) to feed the animals and the fish. That was fun. Live crocodile, deer, pig, goats, pheasants, etc… Nice market. No rides were operating (ie the free train ride) on this date. There is a little play structure.
Overall a really fun time for kids.

Where else can you use a pulley system to send food up to goats who have climbed a large ramp for you? Not only that, but you can pet deer, take a wagon ride, go through a corn maze if it’s autumn, and shop for fruits, veggies, cheese curds, pop corn, bakery items, salsa, and various gift items, This place is the best!
Peck’s is my very favorite farm market in the entire world! I absolutely love this place. I have been going here since I was a kid (and it’s never been less than a 3 hour drive). They have great produce! I love their petting zoo. Every year they have different animals.
In the fall, they have the best squash. They also create a team of horses made from squash.
I’m sure we will continue to go as often as possible. We went a little early this year, so we may be able to visit again before winter. Yay!
