Wilson Creek Pottery

Completely beautiful pieces of Art. I own a few pieces from the shop, but mostly enjoy buying them for others as they are amazing gifts. The owner, Ashley, obviously takes a lot of pride in her experimentation with glaze, and has made some incredible colors that stand out from other pottery studios. Handmade and functional art is something we should all have more of. I highly recommend Wilson Creek.

I did not know what a ramekin was before my wife and I bought a couple of them (along with half a dozen dinner plates, two serving plates and two coffee cups) from Ashley and Shannon. Now, not only do I know what a ramekin is, I know about Wilson Creek Pottery.
The colors of their pottery seem to have seeped right out of the Wisconsin earth and into their wares. It’s as if love, art, science and magic conspired with nature to make something, and this is what it is. The weight and texture of their wares is natural like that, too. It’s real, and made whole through color, texture, shape and weight. It feels as if you yourself are being made whole in some mysterious way when you hold a piece of it in your hand.
Today, I cannot even think of eating nuts or olives unless they’re in a Wilson Creek, ahem, ramekin. I do not want to eat food from anything but a Wilson Creek plate, or drink coffee from anything but a Wilson Creek cup. Please. I might as well be a squirrel without a tree. Don’t think I haven’t thought about carrying a Wilson Creek plate with me into a restaurant and asking to be served on it.
it does not hurt one bit that Ashley and Shannon are our friends. Having their art around the house is a good reminder of them. Automatic smile. They’ll probably end up being your friend, too, if they’re not already. That’s how they roll. It comes with the pottery.

There are often products I like, and there are people I like, but it’s rare that I find both in one place. Wilson Creek Pottery is one such gem. The pottery is outstanding and the owners/​potters couldn’t be more friendly, interested, or interesting.
The best part is that you don’t have to be a local to get in on it — they shipped to Los Angeles in a totally timely manner and my family now enjoys Wilson Creek Pottery with every meal (I particularly like the cream-​colored plates and bowls). They have a Facebook page and take orders over the phone so getting stuff is super easy.
I can’t say enough good things about this place or the people who run it. Definitely recommend checking it out.

So glad to have been able to stop in the pottery shop and meet the owners. They are some of the friendliest and most fun folks you’ll ever meet. You can tell Ashley pours her heart and soul into her pottery and it takes some real dedication to have the shop so close to their home — even willing to leave in the middle of their breakfast on a sunny Saturday morning to let customers in. And as a person on a tight budget, I was delighted that everything was so reasonably priced. Considering all of the work that goes into making each piece and how beautiful they all are, I was pleasantly surprised I could afford my new (favorite) bowl!
Can’t say enough nice things about Wilson Creek Pottery or the people. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Wisconsin.
