Albertsons

They «remodeled» several years back and I was hopeful. But nothing seemed to change. I spoke to a manager and was informed «this is not a store to do your main shopping trip, like Rancho San Diego Albertsons. Que? Indeed Rancho SD has an amazing selection and immaculately clean store. Meanwhile back in the hood… floors are uneven, expired labels and fruit flies buzz the produce (that’s new!) after Fresh and Easy closed Albertson’s got worse. They understaff. And why not? No grocery store for miles. They own CDO. Anyone up 4 a boycott?

I always receive friendly service at this Albertson’s location. Every staff member is friendly, helpful, and the cashiers are polite. Their staff seems to be trained exceptionally well. It makes shopping much more pleasant and less of a chore when I know I will be in and out with speedy yet good service.

This is the first time in over 11 years that I had a problem occur. Shocking to me that it was the store director as well. She didn’t greet me, and just began swiping all my items too quickly and she had to void the transaction because I let her know that this is all WIC items. Then it took her a while to try to figure out what to do on the register. ANY other CASHIER would’ve had me in & out in under 10 minutes. Today took over 20 minutes and they don’t stock on tiny batteries needed for my thermometer. I will be sure to stick to the cashiers that I know from now on.

I sooooo love this Albertsons, everyone is so nice and helpful. Any and every time I come here they make sure i find everything I need. And today Ms. Felicia just made my evening. Thank you Sooo much.

I have lived here in spring valley for several years. And have gone to this Albertsons several times. Everytime I come here the customer service is ridiculous. Cashiers are always rude!!! I went last last night for some quick shopping on a couple items. And the cashier «MEA» was beyond rude. She only said three things to me. And kept staring at something or someone across the store instead of helping me. And I always have horrible customer service here. The outside parking lot is a little sketchy. Weird people hang out outside. Only one star from me.

I like this store because it’s conveniently located, and the employees are very friendly and helpful. The store was once in less than great shape but recent renovations have improved it tremendously! My only complaint is due to the area it is located in. There are a lot of sketchy characters that frequent the store and parking lot. I have been harassed several times and have had to ask for help from employees more than once. They don’t have actual security so the problem continues. If they fixed that I would give the store 5 stars.

They have signs that say 3s a crowd they only have 2 register with each register have about 7 – 8 ppl in line that’s totally faults adviriting on there part

This location is a not so nice area, but the cashiers and employees have always been kind and courteous. Any questions I’ve ever had for any employee has been met with a useful and pleasant response. The store is always clean and tidy unlike other locations. I’ve been going to this Albertsons for years and will continue.

I DON’T OFTEN POST REVIEWS BUT, WHEN I DO, I ALWAYS GIVE 5 STARS. This ALBERTSONS store on Campo Road deserves accolades for the many ways in which it has distinguished itself on virtually every level, with respect to customer service, merchandise selection, product value, a welcoming atmosphere and, most importantly, a staff comprised of genuinely warm, friendly and solicitous team players for whom nothing is too much trouble. I’ve shopped this store for more than a decade, and have known at least 3 Store Directors, all of whom are hands-​on, dedicated and enthusiastic leaders.
ALBERTSONS in Spring Valley may be relatively small in physical terms, but it is huge when it comes to personal service, particularly in an often lackluster, highly competitive grocery industry. The current Store Director, Eric W., makes every customer feel like he or she is valued and respected, much as one would expect from a family-​run business. His energy, enthusiasm and commitment have motivated me to promote his store consistently among, friends, neighbors and clients. My referrals have all reported very positive shopping experiences, especially during the checkout process and, in my view, this is most important since the cashiers and managers have a special way in this store of solidifying the store and customer partnership.
The meat/​seafood department is absolutely first-​rate in every respect.
I’m a passionate cook for more than 40 years and, when I want my steaks or roasts cut a certain way, it happens in a heartbeat and is handed to me with a smile and an expression of gratitude. The values in this department have recently become more and more astonishing, from poultry to meat to seafood, and including condiments and associated specialty products. Choice beef, fresh seafood and over-​the-​top service mark this department as a standout among East County ALBERTSONS stores.
It also needs to be said that the weekly ALBERTSONS mailed flyer has become the best example in recent months of an easily read, compelling and creative example of promotional marketing. Pricing is uniquely attractive on sale items and the overall layout facilitates a quick selection of featured items. The corporate marketing department deserves kudos for the profound improvement in the company’s flyer.
In the finality, ALBERTSONS is perfectly balancing customer service with inordinately attractive pricing, not just on packaged and processed items, but on the most desirable meat, poultry, seafood, dairy and produce items. No other store in this part of San Diego’s East County consistently features as many top brands, from my perspective, and we have many fine grocery stores and specialty markets to choose from.
Lest you think someone twisted my arm to write this review, be assured that I’m just an old marketing guy and passionate cook who loves to patronize businesses which make me feel like part of the family, as it were. And, too, I love to give credit to people in all companies who provide exemplary service, and who are empowered to make decisions which burnish the image of an employer’s business. This ALBERTSONS is run the way all businesses should be run. The customer may not always be right, but the customer always comes first.
I gave ALBERTSONS in Spring Valley 5 stars, but wait! I’M GOING TO DOUBLE THAT — 10 STARS FOR ALBERTSONS ON CAMPO ROAD!

So check it — It’s a little rough in this area… I would use caution. Sure the prices are cheap, but the quality is also. If you are looking for fresh, hike it down 1mile to the Vons.

This has been one of my ‘go’ to grocery stores in the neighborhood. It’s a lil bit of a smaller store and their store layout can be somewhat confusing. The other thing that annoys me is that I have to push a button to get someone to unlock the liquor cabinet which sends out a prerecorded message over the pa while I wait there like a child waiting on a parent for permission. I get it. I live in the ghetto. But I have not seen this anywhere else in sd that I have visited except for the stores in my area. Maybe it’s time to move. But I digress…

Great produce selection and very friendly employees! But beware of expiration dates. I just realized the beef I bought expired the very next day, the kiwis turned to mush and the bacon expired 2 days after being bought.

The employees here are so nice and helpful. I was getting balloons one day and the balloon lady was hilarious. She is such a people person and enjoys her job. I learned from her that there is a helium shortage in the United States. I had asked her why no one else seemed to have helium except for this particular store in Spring Valley. She mentioned a helium shortage and indicated that’s how you know the world is comin’ to an end, when natural things like helium are in demand. HA!
As an added bonus, the customers are nice people too. I always seem to spark up a conversation with strangers here. One lady even let me skip ahead of her in line because I only had a few items verses her filled up cart.
I will always be going here for the things I don’t need to get at Costco in bulk size.

For the bakery only:
Bakery staff very rude and pushy, wings were dry, potato frys were cold, and to top that off they skimp you on the sides on the lunch 4.99 special:# possibly the worst bakery in san diego,

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE PHARMACY ONLY.
The pharmacist had such a great attitude she made me feel better just by her niceness. My prescriptions were ready in like 12 minutes which i thought was awesome! They made sure to tell me that the drugs would make me drowsy which was helpful because i was ready to take one that second. AND she got me a discount since i had so many things to fill.
Will shop here again. VERY PLEASED.

I came by here about 6:45 in the morning to pick some Popsicles for work. Their selection was quite scarce given that they hadn’t stocked the store completely yet. I was not able to get the big sticks I wanted, so I settled for some astro pops. No biggie.
The store looked fairly cleaned and organized. The service at the register was very good, and I did have one employee ask me if I needed any help as I browsed.
Pretty good store.

This is a tough one… I might give the store itself 3 stars but my personal experience (with shady clientele, both inside & outside of the store) takes it down to 2 stars. I opt for Fresh & Easy (just down the street) whenever possible and unless I’m in a time crunch I’ll even opt to drive to Vons or Ralphs. Kinda sad…

Thank god I don’t live in Spring Valley anymore and don’t have to deal with their crummy service.

This Albertsons suffers from bad-​part-​o-​town-​is
Regular full store, almost, some limitations on baking products but veggies are OK.
OK store, just the people that hang out around there are…
