J & M Keystone

I have used J & M Keystone for several years. My original introduction to them was when I suffered a leaking toilet in my condo which then caused damage downstairs to 2 other units which was overwhelming at the time and a great deal of damage. Greg Yontz came in and SAVED the day and immediately dealt with the situation in a calm, expeditious and professional manner. That was several years ago (8) and I have used this firm ever since for carpet and upholstery cleaning in my home. This company is #1 in our book.

I recently bid on an offer made by J & M for a charity auction… boy how lucky I was. It was time to have my carpet cleaned and this all came together so smoothly. The service was just wonderful and the technician, Saul Rivera, did a great job. My carpet now looks like new. I would highly recommend J & M in the future for their professionalism, quick response and customer care.

I have worked with JM for a number of years, mostly for emergencies, and I feel they deserve a great review, from customer service to response time to efficient work that gets in and gets the job done! they are top notch… we have had some serious issues here at the commercial building I work in and have used them over and over. I am very impressed and would highly recommend them for any serious remediation needs!

I have had a couple of experiences with J&M this year as a result of terrible plumbing (I presume) in the building I work in. There have been 2 separate instances of poo water from the toilets leaking, actually more like gushing, into our office. They were from two different bathrooms in these separate occurrences as well.
Anyways, last week they had a team of guys in the office and starting the cleanup process within an hour of the leakage. Before their team arrived, Barry the VP of Business Development for J&M was in the thick of it trying as hard as he could to minimize the damage. You probably won’t see the VP of many companies doing the dirty work in business attire. He stuck around for quite awhile and even came and checked up on the progress hours later.
Once the guys arrived they worked quick and removed the contaminated drywall/​carpet and set up their equipment to de-​poo and dry that section of our office. My company works super slow getting repairs approved and whatnot so I’m sure I’ll be seeing these guys a few more times in the coming weeks. Regardless, everyone in the company I have come in contact with has been both professional and friendly and I have been glad that they have been the ones to come to our rescue. Thank you!

We called upon J&M to clean our carpets and couches a few weeks ago and were very satisfied with their thorough work. Javi was so sweet and made sure we didn’t have any concerns before leaving. I did point out a few spots I knew were particularly stubborn and he gladly went back and tackled them a second time. We have toddlers so picking up well enough to get the carpets cleaned in the first place is a big task, but it was so worth it. Needless to say, we haven’t had them done since the carpet was installed more than 3 years ago, and wow was it badly needed. Kids spill everything, not to mention drool and bleed and vomit (yikes) and pee… You get the picture. But just about all of that was literally washed away. In some cases, no carpet cleaning will fix all of the problems, such as bleach marks or certain bright punch colors, but in the end our expectations were more than met. A word of warning to anyone that is asking for their upholstered furniture to be cleaned: cover the end tables and anything within 5 feet with a sheet if you don’t want the steam to spritz it. We didn’t know this from lack of experience but it dried just fine and nothing was damaged. The carpets still felt wet as much as 10 hours later, partly helped by the gloomy day, so our advice is to be prepared and make an extended day out part of your plans. Thanks to J&M for a great job — we will definitely be calling you again in a year or so, fingers crossed!

We’ve used J&M Keystone in the past in an emergency situation. We’ve found the need to use J&M Keystone again and this time it was not in an emergency. We wanted some minor remodeling done in our home and while the service was great before, starting with the office staff all the way to the field employees, it just seems like things have gotten better from the first call to the completion of our project. Thanks again everyone and we will definitely contact J&M Keystone again!

Called around looking for a carpet cleaning service on short notice. Several gave me the run around and seemed very disinterested in doing a small job. I called J&M Keystone and they assured me they could handle my request in the short time I had available. I was impressed as soon as the technician showed up 20 minutes early and got straight to assessing the job. He pointed out areas in the carpet that he would pay very close attention to because of the pet stains. He had a great attitude, and did the job quickly and efficiently. I did not have any complaints, and if you know me that is really hard.

Low degree of morales, low degree of dignity and VERY lowlife operation in general.

After a fire on my owners property, J & M Keystone rep was eager to board up my owners property without any permission from myself (owners agent) or the owner. After I informed him that we didn’t need his services he still tried to enter my owners property. I said «sir you don’t need to enter my owners property, he said «Oh, there must of been a miss communication.» No, I made it very clear that I didn’t need your services. Shady Guy-​Beware.

We had a leak from our upstairs bathroom and J&M Keystone really came through for us. They made the process as easy and pain-​free as possible, worked with our homeowers insurance adjuster so we received as complete a restoration as we were entitled to, and completed the work promptly with excellent results. Thanks especially to Sal and Paul, who did the painting work! Would highly recommend!

I used J&M Keystone when a pipe leak caused water damages to several units in my Condominium building. I am the HOA President and my unit had water damages as well. I was AMAZED at the quick response time from their technicians. This flood was discovered at night and within 30 minutes they had a very knowledgeable technician (Gene) arrive. They helped us to figure out exactly where the leak was coming from and get a plumber out right away to get it repaired. Just the fast arrival time alone helped minimize our damages and I was very impressed. Other units were damaged and they quickly started the drying process. All units were dry within a few days. All of the J&M technicians were very polite and professional. We were so happy with the initial work done that we chose to use J&M again to do all of the repairs to each unit. They had an amazing crew of estimators and superintendents (Patrick Bustamante, Jeff Walker, Dennis Songer, and Stewart Robinson) that were very hands on and worked with our insurance adjuster each step of the way. The repairs were managed properly and look beautiful in each and every unit that was affected. I am pleased to say that all of the owners in my association were very happy and as the HOA president I will definitely be calling J&M Keystone in the future should we need any of the services that they offer. Thank you all for your very hard work.
Uptown Condos HOA

I woke up one Sunday morning and my carpets were wet. I couldn’t figure out why so i looked around and found puddles of water in my kitchen and bathroom downstairs. So I called J&M carpet cleaning and they responded quickly and sucked up all the water. They wanted to open up walls and ceilings but I told them no way it’s Sunday! They told me a supply line burst under the sink in the bathroom up stairs. The next day my ceiling in my kitchen looked like it was gonna come falling down and water was starting to drip so I called J&M back and Ron showed up. He explained everything that needed to be done and I agreed to let them start the drying and cutting open of walls!!! Lol! My insurance company seemed to be on board with it, so let the demo begin! Wet carpet and padding were also removed. After every thing dried Jeff came out and made sure all repairs were made, drywall, paint, and new carpet! Plus I wanted to replace my linoleum floor in my kitchen and Jeff had the guys lay some porcelain tile, score! All in all my experience with J&M was great. I just hope I don’t see them again anytime soon.

Using them because USAA sent them. My experience has been extremely frustrating and beyond time consuming. Had a leak in my bedroom walls need to be fixed. Its been 3 weeks and still not finished! Would NEVERRRR use them again.
First day they came they plugged in a dehumidifier and a fan in the same outlet. Needless to say they tripped my breaker and couldn’t get it to come back on. I had no electricity in part of my house because they didn’t take responsibility for it. They said they could send out an electrician but I had to pay for it. Fine send em since I was alone and in the dark (after hours). They got a hold of someone who called me and said they didn’t know if they could come because they needed to find a babysitter they would let me know in 20min. 20 min passed they called me to tell me they would call in another 20 min. An hour goes by and I called them back and said don’t even come I was going to bed it was so late. So unprofessional! I found my own person to come to fix it. They said there is no reason for my breaker to trip with those machines they aren’t that big… B.S. Even the two margarita machines I rented i was told not to connect to the same outlet and were ¹⁄₃ the size of the humidifier.
Walls tested positive for asbestos so that was a whole other situation that prolonged my project but working with the company (alliance) that they contracted out was easy friendly and quick. One day to test. One day to cut the wall. One day to test afterwards. And one more day to take down the quarantined area barriers.
I call them today after a week of no communication to see where we are in the process. The person (ill keep nameless) says well we can’t fix it if ur roof isn’t fixed in case it leaks again. I said I get that, totally makes sense. So then I ask when r they coming? She says they haven’t called u yet? Immediately I’m fn pissed. I said NO then she only makes it worse. She says well we don’t know if ur insurance is gonna cover it or ur going to pay for that. We don’t send roofers. I said u sent out a roofer to come see the first day. He took pictures of the shingles that blew off. You sent another roofer to tarp the roof. If that was an issue shouldn’t I have been told this?! I’ve been waiting for a week! For nothing, waiting on them. They are supposed to be in charge of coordinating my whole claim. I haven’t been in my bedroom for 3 weeks! If they aren’t covering it. Fine if i gotta pay, i gotta pay, but fn tell me already so I can fix it! How long were they going to wait to fill me on this if I hadn’t called?! Ridiculous!
I can’t wait for this to be over this has been a horrific experience!

I needed my carpets cleaned and Jeff who is a foreman there said that’s how they got started. I’ve known Jeff for many years and know that he stands behind his word. They came out right on time and protected everything from being damaged. The carpets came out clean and dried within 2 hours. I’ve had carpets cleaned before and the carpet took 2 days to dry. I had them spray scotch guard on so dirt can’t penetrate as easily. They’re great.

I just have to say that Javier at J & M Keystone is amazing. My father passed away and we needed a company late in the evening to come help with some minor clean up and he was so professional and on time. I don’t know what we would have done without him. Thanks so much!!!

J&m keystone was recommended to me by a friend… What a friend… Wasted my entire day to make an estimate for a rebuild… The agent showed up 3 hours late and he expected to get paid for a estimate… Later I just had my insurance agent recommended me some whom they already done business with. A week later a team of j&m worker showed up to start on my property… Guess they found out that insurance company was paying for everything and later regretted their poor customer service… Would never do business with them… By the way, their entire crew looked like crackheads… Not good for business…

J&M is a great company to work with in an emergency situation. They responded to an evening emergency in a timely manner, with professionalism and courtesy. They provided a schedule (and stuck to it) and the end result is a very happy tenant!

I have found them to be so reliable and do a great job! I use them three to four times a year on my carpet because I have pets. The techs who come out are always polite, quick, and so thorough. They clean everything and go over any areas that I feel need more cleaning.
I have used other companies in the past. They don’t compare to the service and quality I get with J & M. I will continue to use them for all of my carpet needs!

«Disclaimer» — J&M hires subcontractors to perform many (or all?) of their services. This review is for the company they used for our HVAC system, however, it is J&M’s responsibility to ensure they hire honest and reliable subcontractors with integrity. The electrician we used first, through them, was excellent, the HVAC was terrible. I was only going to give J&M 2 stars, since they should have weeded out the awful HVAC company, but they did work with us to ensure the job was completed in the end (after nearly 2 months and 6 – 7 appointments) and the electrician company was good. I wish I knew for sure what the HVAC company was called, so I could also leave the below review on their Unilocal page, only with just 1 star. I think I may know their name, but since I’m not 100% sure it’s the correct company, I don’t want to risk giving an innocent company a terrible review and costing them potential clients!
My Review of the HVAC portion of J&M:
To sum up our experience in just a few words… miserable, frustrating, time consuming, inefficient, unreliable, and «milking it for money». My husband and I had just bought a new house. We called J&M to have our AC unit, which wasn’t working, looked at to find out what the problem was. A worker came out, looked at the AC unit and informed us that there was no electrical hookup for the unit. An electrician would have to come run the wiring out to the unit. He didn’t even bother to open it and look for any other issues that may be present (ie, check fluids, connections, etc). He merely glances at it and leave. J&M tries to charge us the full $ 150 for a brief 5 minute visit in which nothing happened. We negotiated down to $ 75, fine. The electrician came out and ran the wiring, everything went smoothly. We didn’t realize though, that the electrician couldn’t hook up a low voltage wire to the AC to start it up for some reason (the high voltage wiring that hooks up directly to the breaker box was hooked up by them). We would have to call J&M back and have an AC person sent out to do that. We call back, but they’re booked for another 2 weeks (it would have been nice if we’d been told that we’d need another AC appointment so we could have scheduled it for the day after the electrician finished his work).
Two weeks later, an AC person arrives to hook up the electricity to the unit. But oh wait, it looks like the fluid levels are low, but he doesn’t carry any of the routine fluids in the van with him (shouldn’t that be part of the inspection kit???). So now we are looking at a 3^rd visit, which can’t be fit in for another week or more. This was during the stretch of ridiculously hot 90s/​100 degree weather.
The AC guy comes back to fill the unit’s coolant fluid ($ 500 just for the coolant). He recommended we go get a new thermostat, since the one in the house was old and not functioning properly. He said he would swing by (free of charge at least) in the morning to make sure the new one was working right. When he came back, he declared the system operational. We happily thought we were done with it! We were wrong. Shortly after he left, the AC unit shut off and wouldn’t come back on.
To make an even longer story shorter, the guy said he would come back and take a look. He never showed up. This happened for two weeks straight before we contacted J&M directly again. Finally, they send out an AC person again… the same guy. After a total of 6 – 7 visits (AC, not electrical), and almost 2 months, the guy finally figured out that the pump for the AC was bad, and wasn’t pumping out the built up condensation, which was triggering a safety auto shut off for the AC unit. At least the last visit or two, we refused to pay for labor costs and would only pay for parts. J&M agreed to this at least. A job that had been quoted at $ 1750ish turned out to cost us about $ 3000 instead. It was quite frustrating that the contractors didn’t seem to effectively and clearly communicate to J&M their findings at each visit, lending to more confusion.
