New York Country Club

Beautiful venue for a wedding! The food was 4 out of 5 stars. Lots of options during cocktail hour from pasta to Chinese food to cold antipasta.
The reception space was just wonderful. The wall in the back of the room is a wall fountain with nice lighting. All of the staff was friendly. It was a great night!

Course layout has some really good holes (excluding 9, which is a gimmick hole), but for $ 105 the shape of the course is terrible. The entire feel of the facility feels like they have given up and it will only get worse. For that price, there is better options out there. Hopefully they start improving the place or at least dropping the price. Its a $ 50 course.

After hearing on the radio of the course, i decided to look up the course and book with my dad for my 40^th bday. Started out decent, but when i got to the green, there were patches of dirt everywhere on the green. I later asked some of the cart guys what the deal was, and they said it was some fungus destroying some of the greens. That didnt sound good. Its a shame cause it looked decent. But they were also doing some construction work on the course while playing, and i almost hit one of the workers who was working on the bunkers. Not the greatest experience. The only pleasant part of the course was the bartender katie. But no cart person selling drinks on the course… just didnt seem like a country club experience. Sad to say but rivervale was a whole lot better, and closer. And even patriot hills was a whole lot better… and those courses were cheaper than nu country club. These guys better get their act together and fix this course quick or they will go bankrupt quickly…

I wanted to like this golf course so much… but I don’t. I’ll clarify. In October it is in outstanding shape. Beautiful course, challenging layout. Cut to the chase… the greens are unfair, almost every one. I am a fabulous two minus putter and not an egomaniac. Putting saves my round typically and allows me to keep golfing. I greened the second par 3, thinking bird… 5 (4 putted). Not a bad day, not angry, not lying… greens are not fair. Let me tell you about hole nine. Par 4 uphill. Hit a 1 iron (yes) about 200 yards straight up (good hit was the box commentary) that did not make the first plateau. It rolled back… 45 yards! It was still rolling when I was in the cart. 3^rd shot was on the green but «up top» and the flag was below. I basically sneezed on the ball to come off the hill. It rolled down did not hit the cup and invariably rolled past and off the green (because they are not fair) and rolled 15 feet into the first cut. Total BS… In my opinion. No sour grapes. Enjoy this course if you can. I’m personally done with it. I’ll play something easier like Crystal Springs.

Played 18 holes in a tourney — fast greens that don’t break very much — very deceiving — overall a beautiful and fun course to play — bogeyed every hole except one birdie — the 9^th and 10^th holes are the most challenging — one goes up the hill in steps — the other is a sick Par 4 all the way down the hill with a chance to drive onto the green in one shot because of the distance in the drop. Field Marshall was polite but kept things moving — pro shop was decent — sand traps were a bit hard — i topped one in the sand and it still came flying out — wide fairways — price was reasonable — not a bad drive from Queens — short ride from the GW — 19^th hole had pleasant attractive staff– overall I would return again.
Had two separate putting and chipping areas — range does not allow drivers or else the balls will get lost — range was cool — top of the hill with three island style greens and even offered real grass for members — caddies staff were helpful phillipines — very gracious people — I believe it is a public course and fees were very reasonable for outing. I was there on an outing — well run event. It truly is a hidden gem and worth the trip if you decide to play here — you will be pleasantly surprised. I could give it five stars but I save that for elite places — like Old Westbury — this place is close though — especially for a course open to the public — I would give it 4.5 if I could.

My husband and I were so pleased with New York Country Club, Ellen and the staff for our wedding on 9÷1÷13. Everything was perfect and beyond what we had expected. The weather ended up not being so great, but the place still looked beautiful and the fact that there is an air conditioned semi/​outside cocktail hour made it even better. The food is amazing and the reception space was a perfect size for our 230+ wedding! Ellen was so amazing. within the first hour of our wedding my husband stepped on my dress and the whole bustle came off and Ellen was right there to sew my dress! She did everything flawlessly! We are still getting complimented on how great our wedding was and how beautiful NYCC is! I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding, so thank you to Ellen and her staff! We would definitely recommend NYCC to anyone who wants to get married with a beautiful scenery and delicious food!

My hubby and I held our wedding ceremony & reception at NYCC. The grounds are quite spectacular. Picture rolling hills, great view of Nyack from the country club, glass enclosed ceremony/​reception area and a ballroom that can be easily transformed. Parts of the country club is very whimsical and lovely! The grounds manager is easy to work with and accommodating. Even more impressive? The manager quelled my freak out, bridezilla moments. Venue is moderately priced for off-​peak Sunday weddings. A huge plus for me was that they only have one event at a time on Sundays!
Their space:
Bridal suite is spacious but it would have been nice to have a private bathroom. On the day of, the venue (in november) was still a luscious green, warm and beautiful. I was super excited that we could take pictures on the green with golf carts and clubs. The bar was open for the full duration of the wedding.
We used the glass enclosed patio area for the ceremony and their main «hall» for the reception. I can’t stress how perfect everything worked out! If this matters to you, the reception area is decked out in gold and blue trimmed curtains, drapery and chandeliers. I didn’t mind them too much but just in case. Don’t forget to ask every little question you might have with the manager– I missed the memo that they’d be able to provide votives and went nuts buying candles. LOL on my part.
Overall, I felt like a rockstar in my own movie! Very pleased and recommended to cc bride to be’s!
