I wish that my ratings of AC Texas agreed with everyone else on here, but i cannot even get them to call me back to do business with them, so my feedback would actually be zero stars if Unilocal would allow it. Our HVAC system went out last week and we found out that both zones need replacing. It was in the low to mid 90s everyday with typical Houston gross humidity and i have a stay at home wife and 3 children under 5 years old, so needless to say this situation is inconvenient and urgent. I Unilocaled local AC companies and AC Texas had five stars and is only 2 miles from our house. I prefer to do business local whenever i can, so i was really excited to find such a high rated company so close. Then i tried calling them three times last week and they never called me back. 3 times. I guess they don’t want my money. I never call anyone that many times to give them my business, but i wanted to see what all the hype is about, and now i see that it is just that. Empty, unwarranted hype. It actually makes me question the rest of the reviews on here for legitimacy and accuracy when they say that ACT is «courteous» and «responsive,» because what I’ve seen from their behavior up to this point is quite the contrary. They are rude and unprofessional for not even giving me the courtesy to return my calls. I suspect that it’s friends and family of the company leaving positive reviews to trick people into trying to do business with them. All that i can say from my experience with this company is to take your business to someone who wants it and places value in their customers. AC Texas is not that company.

Replaced outside unit the same day the unit went out.
Another company was going to charge way more for the same service.

Act Air was fast, friendly and had great customer service. Our air went completely out and we already had another air company out that first said it was just a breaker, we called an electrician out to fix that then it still didn’t work. They had to come back out then we were told the unit was grounded. ACT came out and told us immediately that the unit was bad. Mitch walked us though the process of purchasing a new unit.
I would recommend Act to all my friends.

5 stars for these guys! We will never use another company. Our AC unit went out on a Saturday and we feared the worst. They were on site within an hour and had us back up and running. We’ve been home owners for quite a few years and had some pretty big ac repair bills. These guys were very reasonable and fast. I can’t say enough good things about them. If you need help don’t hesitate to call them!

ACT Air Conditioning did a fantastic job on the system for my parents. They were very happy with the customer service. The system runs well & the can be easily programmed.
I highly recommend their services for an A/​C system in your home.

Mitch and ACTexas were great. They came recommended from a friend and were one of 3 companies called in to bid on the work. Our old system was installed in 2000 and the blower motor had gone out. Originally requested bids for just the furnace replacement as well as a full system replacement including a split-​level zoning install for upstairs/​downstairs. Mitch was great to work with. He took a look at the existing system to understand what was in place and came up with a series of recommendations along with separate costing for each option. Pricing was very reasonable and the combination of that and the comfort I felt working with him made it an easy choice.
The installation went smoothly — Mario and his team arrived promptly in the morning and went about the removal of the old system and ran the wiring required for the thermostats needed with the zoning change. Mitch showed up later in the day to oversee the progress and to deliver the new equipment for installation. He returned later on with the zoning equipment and handled its installation and the final testing and verification that everything was working smoothly.
Can’t say enough about the professionalism and quality of work — highly recommend.

Before purchasing my home, I used ACT to inspect my HVAC system during the home inspection process. Boy was the technician thorough!!! Not only did he inspect all the ductwork and outside units, he found a freon leak in the upstairs attic unit which allowed me to negotiate a bit off the purchase price. Besides the leak, the system was given a healthy rating and 1+ year later I have not had any issues thus far, giving me upmost confidence in ACT’s ability to diagnose issues. If I have any future needs, I will certainly be using them again. It’s hard to trust contractors these days but with competitive pricing and good service I recommend this company to others.

Mitch came out to my house to look at my system. I have a really odd system and he took his time to learn it and work on it. I am so impressed by his dedication to his work. These guys are great.

I’ve had this groups help on several occasions since 2012. Top notch work and straight shooter communication.
They just did a full a/​c change out; they were prompt and kept their word on services. After install; a walk thru of the equipment replaced and they showed me exactly what was performed.
Top notch work at a proper price.
You need air con work, look no further.

I could not be happier with the service I received. I called on a Friday to get an estimate on a new furnace. The owner was out to my home within an hour and gave me a very competitive bid on a new unit. Mind you all service companies were very busy because of the very cold weather. The owner had my heating unit available to be installed the next morning and was very professional. I highly recommend this company if you value good customer service.

One of the most honest companies I’ve ever dealt with. Receptionist response within a couple of rings. I call around 9 AM, they came out to my house around 10:30 AM the same day! They fairly diagnosed issues with our unit and were able to fix everything the same day. Best air conditioner service company I ever used!

I called for a commercial AC unit inspection. They provided same day service and gave me a time from 1:00pm-3:00pm. The receptionist called 30 min ahead to notify me they were on their way. The technician (Mitch?) was knowledgeable & professional. I highly recommend this company.

The company finally made contact, and on a Sat no less. I give them an extra star for making the effort and making it out on a Sat afternoon. However, they put 3lbs of freon in my unit and it’s now worse than ever. I know zero about the functionality of an a/​c system; but I’m hoping they just forgot to «switch» something back on after adding freon. But our poorly performing unit has now gone from bad to worse. Whereas before it was not cooling well (78) now it’s blowing warm outside air (82). And since it’s a weekend, we’re stuck with it until they can get someone back out. So update on review: better response to previous problem but job performed incorrectly, again. To be continued…

A tech and his trainee showed up on time. Charged my AC and then looked at every component of the system. He was very helpful and explained everything. These guys are my first call now. Their rates are awesome. Great service, great pricing, quick, friendly and knowledgable. I called at 10:30am. They showed up at 2:00 as promised. Great job guys.

Great customer service! Used ACT to service my grandfather’s A/​C. Provided an annual inspection and service at a great price. The technician was curteous, respectful, and knowledgable.

We have used ACT for several years now and have recommended them to several friends. They are very pleasant, honest and competitive with their pricing. We have had them install new AC and furnace units and never had a problem afterwards. These guys are excellent troubleshooters and very honest! We highly recommend them.
