I am a huge MAC fan. I have been wearing MAC for over 17 years and I have an embarrassingly large collection of products. I mention this because considering that I am not a professional makeup artist, I am not a beauty student, nor am I even a beauty blogger/vlogger, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on their products and at most locations, receive the absolute worst customer service. When I first went to this location, I was pretty deflated because one of my limited edition lipsticks went moldy just after one use, despite my dedication and loyalty, the MAC store in Rice Village wouldn’t let me exchange it or get a refund. I explained this to the manager at this location in Macys at The Woodlands Mall, and how I used another limited edition shade that just didn’t work on me at all, and was in desperate need of guidance to «make it work…» Then the unbelievable happened: The manager let me exchange both used lipsticks! She also gave me tons of great pointers and said this location accepts eye shadow cases with the pans removed for the recycling program!!! This is also a MAC no-no. So, de-pot those shadows and achieve that free product with 6 empties much faster! Of course, at a counter you can only get a free lipstick, but at a store you can get a free lipstick or shadow. They won’t let you exchange used products at any other location that I have encountered, so if you are in a similar situation, it is worth the drive out there! Another plus, around the holidays, Sephora cancelled my appointment and this MAC location was over booked with services, but they helped me get an appointment at Ulta across the way for my lash application. Very helpful and wonderful staff!

DONOTEVERUSETHISPLACEFORANIMPORTANTEVENT! They do not want to work with you, they always say they do not have the staff to cover and they will just give every excuse not to want to do your make up for a special day. And DONOT even try their employees as a free lance make up artist. I had one girl schedule for my bridal portraits and she cancelled on me that morning! They can not be trusted. Every other make up counter was willing to work with my schedule and do whatever they can to make sure we were taken care of. But MAC acted like they were too good and had better things to do and than to do make up for 3 girls. I didn’t even have a big bridal party and they still would claim«we don’t have enough people» or «one of our girls will give you a call» bu they never do. The make up is good but I will never be using them for any other service.

I love MAC cosmetics and have shopped at this location in Macy’s(also way back when when it was still a Foley’s) for about 10 years since it’s very close to where I live. Unfortunately, I can’t say that anyone should go here and expect customer service. The main problem with this location is it’s CONSTANTLY under-staffed. I can’t recall a single time where I’ve gone to attempt to purchase something where I didn’t have to wait for an eternity for someone to acknowledge my presence, let alone assist me. If you are younger or younger-looking, do not expect them to help you. A few months ago I scheduled a consultation here and waited 30 – 45 minutes before ANYONE started working on me. Instead, the girl that was supposed to be doing my make up was running around and assisting every single person that wandered up to the counter, which I felt was very poor customer service given that I was required to purchase ~$ 80 in cosmetics for the consultation. There have been several occasions where I felt that I’d waited long enough and just left empty-handed. Most recently I went to purchase a few new eye shadow colours, and while I was acknowledged I was told I would have to wait. One consultant re-stocked some make up on the counter then started working on another customer’s makeup, and the other was chatting animatedly with another customer at the counter… for roughly 10 – 15 minutes while I stood there waiting. That being said, I do like MAC a lot but I’m afraid it’s just not worth the hassle. You would think the service would be a little better considering how much you have to shell out for their products. Truthfully, I wouldn’t even bother trying to purchase cosmetics from this location. If you absolutely MUST have MAC products, I’d recommend buying them online or wait and make the trek down to the Galleria where the service is *slightly* better.
