Read the other reviews and save some time — I had similar or identical experience w this fellow — is it Austin or Bagnagno? At least one of them needs prof’l help. Excerpt from his email after my polite inquiry: «Take your Business somewhere the fuck else.»
From the convoluted website and vagueness about pricing I thought I might have found an eccentric quality-​obsessed genius; but he is clearly disturbed as other reviews demonstrate. I came within a hair’s-breadth of trusting him with super-​sacred footage of a long-​lost brother!

Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service! There was absolutely no reason for the unprofessional way Bob Austin treated my inquiry about his company. Here is the original unedited e-​mail conversation:

Thank you for finally answering my question. I am trying to preserve the original 4:3 format of the film, cropping to 16:9 wasn’t preferred. This sounds like a limitation of your equipment, other companies have no problem fulfilling this request. I also noticed your company is not in Michigan, it’s in Texas. I would have called you, but you didn’t give me a phone number. For having such a nice website, you have officially the worst customer service and attitude I have ever encountered bar none. Congrats and good luck with your future lack of business.

There is no way to Make a 4:3 to HD without cropping.

Dude, seriously??? I’m asking you a legit question about the quality of the work your company does and this what I get back as a response? I am completely in awe of the lack of intelligence and irresponsibility of the responses from you. I first reach out to you through your website, as your company requested, and you sent me a form letter response that is a cut and paste from your home page without answering my initial question. I then responded to your email asking the same very basic question about how your company captures film and digitizes it. You responded with two words that basically told me to look elsewhere for my business. I then asked you to clarify your answer and you respond with an assumption that I am trolling you with an i-​pad? Would it be to much to ask if this is an actual joke, or are you truly telling me that my present and future business is of no interest to you. As of now I have only a few short reels of film to transfer, but there is the potential for thousands of more feet of film transfer. So this is your last chance to intelligently respond professionally to my email before you loss all of my business forever.

Hello Bob,
I have 3 50′ reels of regular 8 mm film. I would like an HD transfer to my hard drive without cropping. Does your system perform a frame by frame capture that would allow you to give me the original unedited image sequence, or do you only allow .avi files? I live locally, so I can drop off the film directly to you.

Do not send or drop off ALL your films to anybody!
How do you know what it’s going to look like?
Many people make this mistake. thinking it’s all the same.

Let me do 1or 2 reels. See how you like it !

All you have to do is watch the video examples showing other companies work compared to what I do.

This guy is absolutely nuts. His work online looks great but when I started to inquire about the price he went absolutely crazy, he went on a crazy cursing rant like I have never heard before, even threatening to send someone to break my knee caps if I posted a bad review. This guy has mental issues that need to be addressed. Stay clear of this lunatic.

This guy is an idiot! I wanted to use this business, but when I emailed him to inquire about his services and pricing, Peter the owner responded with an extremely rude response.. He immediately started attacking me, which i was in shock at his behavior. This man has serious mental issues. When I asked for his pricing, he wrote this back to me the following, «Take those THUMBs and give them a work out up your ass.
