Groupon lead me to this place. My experience here was interesting. You place your order versus having someone come to your table to take the order. I think I may have came as soon as they opened up. This place is better suited for grab and go eating. No free refills. No fountain drinks here. Canned drinks and bottled water mainly with tea available. All drinks $ 1. Outside seating. Limited seating inside. Maybe seat 35 people at 7 tables inside. Homemade pecan candy, pecan pie, sweet potato pie and sweet potato bread pudding. 1 mounted TV if you are inside. Clean restroom that is unisex. Crawfish nachos have a great taste and nice flavor and spice kick. Plentiful cheese, chips and crawfish tails found without. The gumbo is excellent. Plenty of sausage floating and shrimp found in it. Tender chicken sherds throughout. The taste is what sells it. I prefer my shrimp poboy to be fully dressed, which to me includes lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup and pickles. This poboy came with mayo and lettuce, but admittedly was still good. Shrimp had an excellent taste and the bread had a great texture. Fluffy bites even when toasted. My youngest enjoyed her Alfredo chicken pasta which was a big heaping for $ 7. She stated the pasta would have been better if they put more sauce on it The chicken basket was all flats and drums, 6 total, which i expected to see a full wing and was disappointed. I didn’t have the wings but from family they stated the breading was good but not enough salt. Everything is freshly cooked. I recommend the lemonade for your beverage. It was sweet, refreshing love. The service on our Sunday was slow but friendly. Because this was loved made food, you waited to eat. Once the appetizer finally made it, it was a delicious snowball affect. Price to portion size is off for my liking but the New Orleans taste is undeniable. Strong 3.50 place so i will give them the 4th star.

Sunday, almost noon. The place is locked, although the website says they are open Sunday. Their loss! We brought our money to another place

We are new to Texas and I have been searching for a place to make my «go to» spot for catfish fillets. Today I think I found it! I had the catfish basket. The fish was seasoned well. I like my fish fried a little crispier. I told them that’s how I wanted it. This is one of the reasons for the 4 stars. The fries were just ok and they were out of pralines, which sucks. I hope to try them next time.

Quite possibly the best thing I have ever eaten. I ordered the very delicious Crawfish Po boy and Red Beans and Rice lunch combo. This place has a great chill atmosphere and live music. What a great place to spend your Saturday afternoons.

Who: bf & I Where/when: weekend, Old Spring Town What: Cajun nachos w/crawfish Why: No frills, just a place to chill and eat goodness. We were not hungry enough for BBQ and not interested in sweets, so we settled for something we hoped would be savory and satisfying. The Cajun Nachos were awesome! Plentiful to share, spicy, cheesy, and chock full of crawfish. Will come back for lunch and dinner next time.

Stumble upon this place while shopping in Old Town. Had a bowl of gumbo and bread pudding with praline sauce, it was so good! The bread pudding was moist to perfection! The gumbo had a nice mixture of chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The service was excellent– super friendly staff! Will definitely be back with the family and try other food on the menu.

First of all the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the cook and wait staff they were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. My daughter and I ordered the crawfish nachos. Just the right amount of spice and very nice sized portion we only needed one. They also have a new menu item coming out which was like a shrimp mashed potato dish with some type of sweet potato gravy. Oh my goodness… must have when they do add it to the menu.

We were shopping around and stumbled into this place for lunch. The employees were very friendly and attentive. Red beans and rice were delicious!!! The shrimp poboy was amazing!!! Shrimp was perfectly battered, spiced and fried! Next time I am in the area I will definitely stop by again! We also were given homemade bread pudding on the house!!! Such a great and sweet gesture(no pun intended). Stop by if you want some great food and friendly faces!

The catfish basket is delicious. I substituted the fries for red beans and rice which was excellent as well. You can BYOB from the wine bar next door.

Small place in Old Town Sping, I had heard good things about and it was finally opened the one of four times I had tried. My husband and I decided to split a Roast Beef PoBoy and each have a bowl of Gumbo. For Roast Beef PoBoys it was not your typically expected NOLA Poboy. Disappointed. Gumbo: not New Orleans seasoned Gumbo at all. The Roux was not a flour/oil Roux, but more a cornstarch, gelatin type Roux. Gumbo; no seasoning, but it was loaded with Shrimp, Sausage(not Andoulle) and Chicken and RICE, which I prefer on the side. I took a few bites and gave my husband thr bulk of mine. We bought their last Praline. My husband liked it, but another LA native customer thought the same as I did and agreed, we have had better. Ppl were nice, but it is not well managed yet.

Tried the gumbo and fried catfish. Both were delicious, especially the catfish. It literally melted in your mouth. Was given a complimentary praline after the meal. I must say, it was very smooth and not overly sweet. On my next visit I will try some of the recommendations from the reviews. The place is not very appealing, but what it doesn’t have in looks it makes up in substance, which is the food that will have you coming back for more. Hopefully in time the owners will invest in the aesthetics of the place so it will become more attractive to its growing customer base.

This place was recommended by my daughter. My son and I went there about 3 weeks ago. The location was small, clean with about 5 tables, had a large TV we watched Houston game while we waited for the food. My son ordered an appetizer, Cajun Nachos and a Catfish Basket, I ordered the Pasta w/blackened Chicken. The pasta was DELICIOUS, well seasoned and a generous serving. My son’s catfish was also DELICIOUS. He said the Cajun nachos were very good, had a lot of crawfish, it was enough for 2. Our server, Jaime, was friendly and let us know our food was being prepared fresh. He offered us a sample of the pralines, one of my favorites. He went back over the weekend for a Shrimp po’boy, very good! We will be returning!

Great cajun food. It’s a small place, almost a hole in the wall, but we we’re surprised at how good the food was. We tried the creole nachos, superb. Great gumbo and blackened chx pasta.

I had the Roast beef and gravy posted boy! It was really huge! It was tasty and seasoned well. It’s only open on Saturday and Sunday. But their special was half poor and cup of gumbo $ 9.00 so reasonably priced!

I came to this place after doing a search for establishments(north of Houston) that do authentic pralines. Pralines are the perfect marriage of Texas pecan and New Orleans cuisine yumminess, and finding a good specimen of praline sample for a Christmas package to send to my German relatives was crucial. You can’t get more authentic than these pralines. While I was at N.O. Taste and See, they gave me a sample of their seafood gumbo. WOW. So good. This place is small and the«front of the house» is just very basic, but the food I tasted is awesome.

I was lured into this small café by the free praline samples outside and the yummy smell coming from the inside. The pralines were creamy and full of pecans and the pies looked wonderful. I also got to sample their sweet potato bread pudding. Gooey and warm and delicious! I even ordered a whole sweet potato pecan pie to pick up the next day. I had a nice chat with the owners. They are a small family owned business currently open only on the weekend. The gumbo and red beans are very flavorful. The Shrimp poboy and fried catfish are seasoned well and have a nice cornmeal batter. My favorite has to be their chicken wings. Cooked perfectly with several delicious sauces to choose from. I have also attended several events that they have done in conjunction with Wine Envy next door and the food and presentation have been excellent. If you are out shopping in Old Town Spring, stop by for a wonderful meal and don’t forget dessert.
