OMG Cupcakes Texas

I have tried to like this place since my husband and I are cupcake fans. The icing was so sweet it hurt my teeth! I decided I wouldn’t go for cupcakes there any more.
However, I wanted to buy a couple Mexican pastries to surprise my husband. I purchased about 3 of them and went home. I went to put them in a ziplock bag to keep fresh and found mold covering the bottom of the bread!!!

I ordered some cupcakes from here and they were the most God awful cupcakes I’ve ever tasted. I drive past here everyday and wanted to try them so I brought some home for the family. My mother in law tasted it first and said they were disgusting so I gave it a try because I thought she may have just been comparing them to her favorite shop (GiGi’s cupcakes) but then when I tried them I completely agreed. When my 6 year old niece spits them out into the trash, you know they tasted bad.

I ordered a custom fondant cake ~$ 250 via email based on high reviews that I saw online. it seems the worst reviews are now coming this summer (2015). I sent pictures and specified flavor, the letter below is what I sent to the proprietor after my event. She never responded. So if you want an expensive center piece, you’ll get your money’s worth.
«I wanted to give you some feedback about my cake. I feel the cake was pretty, the buttercream flowers were ok mostly looks like they drooped until they hardened enough to stay put, but lacking the delicacy of the picture attached. But aside from the aesthetics — As you can see below I asked for a chocolate cake my cake was vanilla and so dense it was inedible. The cake served its purpose with it’s place on the table, it was very difficult to cut, everyone took a piece some ate just the fondant but nobody ate the cake.»

This place has horrible customer service and could care less about getting your business or not. Not only did they not inform us of a kitchen mishap on birthday cupcakes that we ordered and prepaid for, but then they didn’t even have the common courtesy to be apologetic about it. I really wanted to support this local business but with an attitude like that why bother. Don’t waste your time going here.

I ordered 2 dozen custom made sunflower cupcakes for a bridal shower 2 days in advance. Thought the place by the house would be fine. DISGUSTING. Tasted like they had forgot the sugar, or really everything except flour! They tasted like dry cakes, not good at all. I spent $ 60 on 24 pretty, but nasty cupcakes. They made an awesome centerpiece but they were just so nasty, did I say that yet?
I wanted to support a local small business, but suggest you not.

AVOID this place! Very UNPROFESSIONAL! We ordered a cake for our sons 1^st bday. The day of the party we received a text message stating their oven was broke & that his cake would be delayed. We tried to call, no answer. She would only respond to texts. We asked repeatedly how delayed it would be & to give an approximate time so we could plan accordingly. After getting several replies of it’s just delayed, we stopped getting replies at all. NO «we’re sorry but we had to CANCEL your order» or any kind of notice at all. We went up there around 3 to see if maybe they were just too busy to answer the phone but the shop was CLOSED! Still to this day we’ve HEARD NOTHING of what happened to our cake, we had to end up getting a ready made store bought cake for his bday. I understand the oven breaking & accidents happen but it was just handled very unprofessional.

DO NOT GO HERE. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. If there were an option for negative stars, this establishment would deserve it. I called a day before hand to order a dozen cupcakes for an office birthday party. I PREPAID for the cupcakes and left my name and number. I was told to pick them up between 11 and 12. I arrive at 11:40 and to my surprise, the facility was CLOSED. I had not received a phone call, there was no note on the door, NOTHING. I left a note on the door with my name and number. I failed at bringing dessert for the office birthday party. I am a reasonable person so even though I was extremely disappointed I told myself there must be an emergency and they will get back to me. After an email, a facebook message, a note on the door, 2 voicemails, multiple phone calls later, and 2 business days, I finally get a call from the manager DIANA. She left a VM «This is my third time to contact you… we are refunding the money… Thanks, Bye.» I immediately called her back and went on to tell her how there is no way she could’ve tried me 3 times. After demanding the reason why my money and order were disregarded she let me know that the oven had broke. I expected a heart felt apology and some sense of responsibility for a bakery to take my money and ruin a birthday party. Instead I had a very short «sorry we refunded your money, what else do you want me to do? I already talked to the employee.» UNACCEPTABLE.
I should have had a call the morning of to let me know that the oven was broken and my cupcakes could not be made and my money refunded immediately. Then for good measure, some type of store credit to make up for the inconvenience and to assure future business from me. Instead, I will never go back.

This place serves gluten free donuts. They are sadly never open. This is the fifth and last time stopping in.

Well, This is about the third time visiting OMG Cupcakes and I must say that each time I truly want to love this place, but they continue to fall short with these dense cakes and declining levels of creativity. The very first visit was last year and I LOVED the Red Velvet Cheese Cake and I found It quite interesting. The second visit was to order a cake and cupcakes for a baby shower I was hosting, EPIC FAIL… THE cake was a Tiffany & Co. inspired cake theme and the cake was lopside and sliding, I am unsure how they managed that, the cake should have been the shape of a tiffany box. Not anything extremely elaborate like most people are doing these days. OMG Cupcakes, IDK how you missed that… the Vanilla cupcakes were unimpressive, the cake had a strong almond flavor and the cupcakes had a greasy after-​taste. Today my kids were bored and my daughter is a big fan of cupcake wars, so after watching a million episodes we had a craving for a cupcake so we hopped in the car and decided to give OMG Cupcakes a 3^rd TRY. BIG MISTAKE, Third time was a disaster. all Three cupcakes were subpar. Not one of the four AWESOME and 3 of the cupcakes we sampled didn’t even come close to title of the cupcake.
1. The Salted Carmel Vanilla: not much of a carmel taste and unsalted
2. The Oreo Cookie: vanilla icing on top of a vanilla cake with a half of Oreo on the bottom and a half of Oreo the top with Oreo crumble to garnish
3. The Reese Peanut Butter: AGAIN… Vanilla Cake with a a mini Reese on Top and Peanut Butter filling With chocolate icing
4. Strawberry Lemonade: The was the best of the four, it Actually tasted as label suggested.
I hope they get it together soon, the cupcake business is can be TOUGH!

I was very disappointed in our baby reveal cake. We spent nearly $ 100 on this piece of trash. It was not made to our specifications as far as size, shape and flavor! Thank god they got the blue right, for a boy. I would not recommend this company if you are trying to showcase your cake as a centerpiece. I was honestly too ashamed to display the cake during the party. I will post a photo.

I just had a strawberry on strawberry cupcake,… It was pretty good, decent price… Took away some pan dulce and was so excited to see it looks and tastes almost like what I can find in the valley!

Just had OMG cupcakes make my daughter’s birthday Gluten Free cupcakes. She said they were absolutely THE BEST (she’s an adult) GF she’s EVER had ! The order was done correctly and Diana was amazing !! Will definitely be our new «go to «place !

Thank you so much OMG Cupcakes for delivering cupcakes just in time for Christmas. I called in a panic the afternoon of the 22^nd and an order of cupcakes (super delicious cupcakes in a variety of flavors) were hand delivered the next evening. Thank you for keeping me updated with the delivery. These cupcakes were affordable and I love having such a great selection of flavors to choose from. You’re the best!

Omg cupcakes had great chocolate cupcakes. The owner was very sweet and welcoming. I would recommend cupcakes from there esp because her prices are wonderful for what you are getting. Perfect little place in a perfect location.

Yumm I’m a frequent Unilocaler so this place looked good and it was. The lady that helped me was very polite. I’ll be going back soon to get some more goodies

Really good. The cupcakes were moist and the frosting was tasty. A must is the cream cake. If you like frosting you will love the icing and layers of cake and filling in between each layer.

Love this place. They are always trying new things to keep fresh. Different flavors and even new types of pastries. They ofcourse have cupcakes, cake pops, and cakes. They up the ante by also having Latin pastries, ice cream, scone cupcakes and you can build your own cupcake. They also have gluten free offerings including donuts. So far everything I have had has been excellent except once and even then the owner went out of her way to fix the problem. The cakes are moist and the icing tastes great.

OMG I was surprised at how much I disliked these cupcakes. The cake was dry and the frosting was well, not good. They seem like they are made from a box.
Reading the other reviews I was wondering if it was an off day and if I should try again, but there are several cupcake places in this area that are always on their game. Do yourself a favor and go to another one in the area… any other one.

I purchased cupakes from OMG Cupcakes for my niece’s birthday party. They were delicious!
