Primrose School of Imperial Oaks

My child went to this daycare for less than 4 weeks. Everything they told us during our tour turn out to be incorrect.
They showed us they incorrect class, gave us the wrong fees (higher by $ 50/​week), lied about the number of kids in each class and their ratios (more children per teacher and never saw more than one teacher in class not 3 as presented), did not explain paperwork and doctor’s note requirement properly, which caused a delay in my son starting and problems with our work. I requested to talk to the director twice to inform her of all this. I was never contacted. And when I followed up she was always gone for the day before 4 or unavailable at the moment.
When my child turned 5 and had to adjust to riding the bus at the beginning of the school year they had no contingency plan to teach the children safety, or monitor for it. They simply told them the rule and expected compliance. The only person on the bus other than the children is the driver. They do not account for possibility of young children acting out in impulse nor place a monitor to help them comply to the rules while they adjust on their very first week of school.
On the third day of my son riding the bus, he got up to reach for stuffed animal another child had taken out in front of him. He was suspended and couldn’t ride the very next day. They informed me of this policy in the evening, when I could not notify the public school, and my only choice was to request time off to drop off and pick up my son. They never told us that my son being suspended from transportation was a possibility. When I complained that this would be more punishment for the parent than discipline for the child, Mrs. Kos, the assistant director, simply replied «yes»!!! I followed up with the director, Mrs. Woodsen, and she even admitted that my son wasn’t the only one that had acted out while learning the rules, but her policy stood, and there were no plans to adjust or add a monitor to make this a safer, learning experience for first time riders. I reported how the administration had treated us, how WE had been patient with all of THEIR mistakes, and little respect to what was promised and poor communication. She apologized but made no effort to make it up to us.
The second incident happened the following Monday. I was told my child could not come back TO THE SCHOOL. Effective, immediately. No warning, no notice. We were left without childcare. And at this point out of options because most programs were full.
I don’t take my son’s childcare lightly. I need to know that his socioemotional growth is in good hands. I thought this place adhered to the broadcasted mission statement and values they posted everywhere, but they seem to be just pretty word on a website with little correspondence to reality. They seem to be clueless about supporting a child that may be struggling through a transition. They seem to not care about the role they have in supporting the parents while taking care of the child. If you have a child that could struggle some day for whatever reason, like in our case, his dad’s cancer, this is not the place for your family. They don’t care. Even when you inform them, about our recent move to the area, about being military, about concerns, they don’t seem to care. My son is acting out, and instead of working with us to understand and help us, they put us at the door. We were inconveniencing them. I am a very involved parent, very educated (as I’m used to inspections, and accreditations of child care centers) and my advocacy and complaints, were something they did not want to deal with. They tell you to advocate for your child. Well, this is not the place to do it.
I haven’t been able to reach a regional director or an owner to address further, not that I would want my son to return to this daycare. But if they want to contact me I’m open to speak even in more detail to the poorest customer service and attention to growth and development I’ve seen in 20 years of working with childcare centers and with children with special needs and their families. I’m sure this post will make me easy to recognize and contact.
