We are proud to have small class sizes, to provide individual attention for each child as well as a very low staff turnover. It’s important to see the same smiling faces everyday :)

Currently accepting toddlers 18 months to 24 months, and 2 to 5 years olds! We offer programs 8 – 3, 9 – 1, or full day (6:30−6:30)

*Mother’s Day Out– Flexible days and times.

History

Established in 1984.

School in the Pines was founded in 1984 by Sarene Smith. Her daughter, Amanda Smith (now Maisonneuve) worked closely with her mom as the school opened and throughout the years. Shortly after Amanda graduated from Texas A&M in 1993, she began working at School in the Pines, as a two year old teacher, Kindergarten aide, piano teacher, summer camp director, and assistant director. In 1995, after she married Joe, he came on board as the business and financial manager. Then they began the process of buying the school from Amanda’s parents. Amanda and Joe are now owners of the business, and participate in all the day to day activities at the school.

Amanda and her husband Joe have four children, ranging in age from 5 — 18 years old. The younger two daughters (both adopted from Haiti) are in elementary school at Lemm. Their younger teenage son attends Klein Collins HS, where is on the KC drum line. Their oldest son attends UT Austin, and enjoys being a part of the Longhorn Band! Amanda and Joe are active members of Faithbridge Church. In their free time, the Maisonneuve family enjoys traveling together, swimming, riding bikes, and playing board games.
