UPDATE: They ended up sending us a full refund despite what we were told so i thought it only fair to update my review from 1star to 3. I’m still frustrated with how it was handled to begin with, but at least they wound up doing me right on the refund so it’s only right that I adjust accordingly.
We ordered a cake from Virginia’s and gave our card to hold the cake. Unbeknownst to us, instead of waiting until the cake was made/​picked up like 99% of businesses, they decided to process the charges that day (a month in advance). When we called 2 weeks out (well in advance of them doing anything with the cake), they would only refund us 85% of the cake cost due to them having to use the credit card machine. I would like to state 1) we were not informed of their «policy» of charging the first day, which if we had been I would have waited to order 2) the way they handled the situation was completely unprofessional. I understand the costs of running these machines, but I also know that you should not charge for a product that you have not provided. This is exactly the reason why businesses wait until the costs are legitimate to bill their customers. Their cakes may be good, but their business model, professionalism, and courtesy suck and I would never even consider doing business with them again. I can find another place with great cakes who don’t treat their customers with such disdain.

After having a bad expierence at another bakery down the road, I read the reviews online for Virginia’s Cakes and decided to swing by. I did not make an appointment, but someone sat with me shortly after my arrival to discuss my needs. I loved that someone took the time to actually sit down with me and discuss what I was looking for in great deail. That expierence was awsome but when I actually picked up the cake and brought it home for the graduation party, I have to say, it was the best cake that I have ever had. It was sooo moist and the buttercream icing is delicious. Everyone loved the cake and kept asking me where I purchsed it. Someone even took a picture of the box with the company sticker hoping that she would be able to purchase one for her daughter’s party.
The cake is a little pricey, but it is good!

Virginia made the groom’s cake for our wedding and it was amazing. Everyone was blown away. My husband kept his phone away the whole night, but the cake got him so excited that he had to pull it out to take a picture.

Consultations are not free, beware of hidden charges! Placed order for an undecorated cake on ³⁄₃₀ at 11:20 a.m., cancelled order next morning at 10:20 a.m. (pick up date April 9^th, 10 days away) and was charged $ 15.00 «return» fee. Was not told there would be a fee if I canceled nor is there a notice in shop, on website or on receipt. As nothing was «returned» the charge was either for a piece of paper sitting on a desk for 7 hours or for the 35 minute consultation! If that’s not enough to make you think twice here is an example that their cakes are WAY OVER PRICED! Example: 12″ square, 1 layer –2″ thick — $ 98.00, BUT WAIT, that is for icing only, NO DECORATIONS. Arbitrary charges are not a sign of fair business practices. Reply to Viginia’s explanation: Virginia, nice try on the «credit card» return charge, shame on you.

Ugh… that was the worst Italian cream cake I’ve ever had; It was old, dry, over-​cooked, and bland… yuck! I ordered an espresso (under tow), and the clerk blew-​off my order, in order to get ready to close. We were told our orders had to be to-​go, because they were closing… well, fine, but at least get me the espresso I ordered. I spoke to the manager, who did offer a gift card, but no thanks… I’ll stick with Rao’s and Coco’s.

Went there today to inquire for my daughter’s bday cake. Staff were not that friendly to us except for white peeps. Greeted by the lady in the register but the lady in charge of cakes seems she don’t care. Probably if I had a chanel bag or LV and on a mercedes she will give me good treatment. Come on people, who ever comes to your door you should treat them like a VIP no matter what they look like. I should have ordered the cake from you guys and refer friends. It’s your loss not mine.

Great place to have lunch. Known for their outstanding cakes, they also have a complete lunch menu. Friendly staff that can also help you pick out some sweets to take home with you. These nice people helped me pull of a ceremony and the cake was the center of attention as it not only was a beautiful cake but one that was absolutely delicious.

I am going to write a very short, straight to the point review about my very brief encounter. This morning, I was driving by and saw an «OPEN» sign on at 10:00am. I took two toddlers out of their car seats, in hopes that I would be served. When I walked in, I was greeted by a staff. Assuming that the place was OPEN with their sign clearly in the front, they were NOT open to serve customers. They were open for business for customers wanting cakes!!! How was I supposed to know that from your outside OPEN sign??? There was a sign INSIDE their store that read open at 11am! Please be considerate of drive by who read an OPEN sign from Outside! If you’re not open to serve customers — there should be a Clear sign from the outside stating that! Please don’t waste my time! I definitely won’t be coming back to try any of your cakes! Supposedly your cakes are amazing based on the high reviews, but I won’t be giving you a chance.

Virginia not only makes beautiful cakes, but delicious ones too! She made a lovely 4-​tier cake for my wedding and a cute texas-​shaped oil-​themed grooms cake. Both the white cake and chocolate cake were to die for. I only wish I had more time to enjoy it at my reception!

I absolutely love Virginia’s, we bought our amazing wedding cake from her, we showed her a picture of what we wanted and she made our dreams a reality. I was so pleased and amazed by how great her cakes taste that we have been loyal fans ever since. I even took my son there just recently for a birthday cupcake which he loved. I would definitely recommend Virginia’s to anyone looking for cupcakes, a grooms cake, a wedding cake, any type of cake, because her cakes are simply amazing and delicious. Our Guest are still raving at how great our cake taste.

Everything in this bakery is wonderful!

I paid about $ 60 for a small simple white cake with black letters that had 5 words in it and they couldn’t even get that right. The funny part was that they were the ones who advised us not to get icing for the letters because it would stick to our teeths and instead spray it on there.
All in all, the cake tasted like I got it at krogers but paid 5 times more and made a mistake trying to support a local business

The special white cake with strawberry cream cheese filling is THE BEST!!! You can’t beat their service and amazing cakes. We come here for every special occasion!

All I can say is wow — just wow! I had Virginia’s make my wedding cake, and it was perfect! We had a three tier white cake with white icing. Each tier was specially designed for my husband (martial arts), me (shopping) and my stepdaughter (princess with a crown). Every single person had a slice and raved about the cake. In addition, the honeymoon cake we brought home is just lovely — and a perfect size! Thank you Virginia’s — you did an amazing job!!! We will definitely be using them again!

The cake I ordered here was one of the best cakes I ever had. I ordered a cupcake theme traditional cake for my daughters 2^nd birthday and everyone said it was so moist and delicious, I had previously been going to a different bakery in the Woodlands that was more expensive so I decided to try this one, I was nervous due to the reviews but everyone there was nice and the ordering/​picking up the cake was hassle free. They even gave me some candles because I had forgot them at home.

Virginia’s made our gender reveal cake and we could not have been more pleased! The cake looked amazing and was reasonably priced. We also made it clear to them that no one knew the gender and we were wanting the whole family know at once and they made sure that happened. Communication and customer service was top notch! Will definitely use Virginia’s in the future for special occasions.

I wish I could give zero stars, But I cannot, so she gets ONE very undeserved star. I booked a party for my 2 year old here two months in advance. Basically I wanted to use her room, and have her cupcakes for a cupcake themed decorating party. I ordered 20 strawberry cupcakes with white icing, plus a small custom cake just for the birthday girl. I booked the party for 20. I also told them I wanted 6 grilled cheese sandwiches in triangles with a tray of fruit for the kiddos. The adults would most likely eat but they were on their own. This was all relayed the FIVE times I met with FOUR different people regarding the party. I also specifically asked if I could decorate the room, since the place is quite boring and plain. I was told absolutely, by her accountant who I spoke with most often since Miss Virginia was NEVER there!
Day of the party: we were 30 min late getting into the room because no one (staff) was told about the reservation. There was one waitress to the entire place including my party of 20. I decorated my little room. Waitress said it was adorable. Half an hour into party with antsy children we had no food and no drinks. When we were able to finally find the waitress she of course knew nothing about our previous arrangements for food or cupcakes for that matter. I found the chef with whom I had placed the order with and another half hour later we had six grilled cheese and fruit. I asked about our cupcakes and the waitress brought out 20 frozen strawberry cupcakes with no icing. I sent those back and another half hour later received cupcakes with icing. Ready to finish the party as this has been a complete disaster I asked for the birthday girl cake and was told that it had melted. We did not receive her cake to sing happy birthday to her until two and a half hours into the party. To top it all off as we were wrapping up the party and people were leaving Miss Virginia decided to show her face. Her first words to me were «who told you you could decorate my room?» She was extremely rude and very nasty in her tone. She then proceeded to chew out the waitress for allowing me to decorate and brought her to tears. Then she proceeded to ask me «are we about through here?» «Your party was from 2 – 4.». It was 4:45. I explained to Miss Virginia exactly what had gone down during this horrendous experience of a birthday party. She never once appologized. She blamed a different staff member for each and everything that happened. She also never offered to reimburse me for anything (I had prepaid for everything, or I wouldn’t have paid for any of this crap). Brass tacks. This is YOUR business. Maybe YOU need to be here to supervise your «stupid ignorant» staff as she called them. Or maybe your business is as busy as it is because you are NOT There. Rude woman. She will never get another dime from me.

Loved this place. It is mainly a bake shop and they only serve lunch Monday thru Friday. It is obvious that the target market is «ladies who lunch» during the week. We had the soup and sandwich combo. The shrimp bisque was yummy, though it might be a little rich and heavy during the summer. Cozumel Lime soup was like a chicken tortilla soup. It was served with a piece of jalapeño bread. I seriously could have licked the bowl, it was so good. We also had a french dip sandwich with fries. It was very good, though the real standout was the soup. If I were to go back I would get a large bowl of soup with an extra serving of the bread.
A few have complained about the service, but I have no idea what happened in their scenario since we found everyone to be super helpful, but not pushy. We never felt rushed and my tea glass was never empty. I even spilled it and they cleaned it and replaced it so quick.
The dessert case looked yummy. We had a slice of the classic white cake and an Italian cream cupcake. The cake was super moist. I would trust this place to make a special occasion cake based on what we tasted.
Parking is plentiful and the café is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms were also very clean.
Looking forward to being a lady who lunch again!

My first time ordering a cake from here and it was amazing. It was the most perfect little birthday cake for my little boy. The cake was exactly what I wanted. I wanted squirt the turtle from finding nemo and the detail was pretty spot on. I ordered marble with original buttercream and it was very delicious. The cake was moist and the buttercream had just the right amount of sweetness. I was a little iffy about ordering buttercream because I had only tasted it once and I thought that just wasn’t for me. But I decided to give it a try once more and I’m glad I did. That cake was delicious and so adorable!
