Inn at the Mill, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

The ONLY reason I am not rating it «5 stars» is because of the lack of lighting in the room. Honestly, the rating should be a 4.9 999 999. Normally, lighting wouldn’t be that much of a concern but this was my «pre-​wedding» stay, and I had a lot of detailed things to do — especially the morning of my wedding. Please know the place is dated and could use a little «facelift» but it has a real charm.
The location is great, the room was very spacious — great shower — comfortable bed & Mickey Mouse ears on the balcony!!! Now, for the gem of the mill… Larry. OMG! This guy is incredible! He answers your every need before you even have the chance to know you have the need!
If you’re staying in Fayetteville — you will be missing out if you do not stay here.

This place is stunning! We stayed for 3 wonderful nights. We were in one of the ‘basic’ king rooms. The room was anything but basic. The furniture is grand and everything is high end. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed that I have ever slept in. And even though the parking lot was full, we never saw any other guests. We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We can’t wait to go back & to try the restaurant!

We LOVED our stay at the In ! We were in a historic mill suite. Larry, the hotel staff, was incredibly friendly and helpful. (Weeks later, we’re still talking about how great Larry was!) The accommodations were lovely. The amenities were great. No complaints!

This place is lovely with a top-​notch restaurant on the grounds. Rooms beautifully appointed and grounds were charming.

This place is amazing! Nestled right off a main road with beautiful gardens, running water and such a serene setting, I wish I had found it sooner. The Inn has a cozy lobby with plush seating, cookies on arrival and a free wine and cheese happy hour. They also serve a free continental breakfast in the morning. The building is old but but gorgeously updated so you can appreciate the antique details but feel comfortable with the modern touches, i.e. free wifi.
We stayed in the Monet suite. A huge room with period antique pieces and a small deck perfect for reading a book or enjoying morning coffee. The bathroom has a big jacuzzi tub, shower and large sink area.
The price is extremely reasonable especially given the high level of service you can expect. I hope to get back here again soon.

This is probably one of the best hotels in Northwest Arkansas. From check-​in to check-​out, I have had nothing but a five-​star experience.
The location is right off of exit 69 along highway 540. You can definitely see the history and appreciate the architecture. The rooms are well-​decorated and furnished. Bathrooms are up-​to-​date with large toilets (you’d be surprised by how much toilet size matters) and curved shower curtain rods. The shower head is located very far up (7 feet? 8 feet?) to accommodate any height. Water pressure’s good, and heats up very quickly. The bed is super comfortable, as are the large Ameridown pillows.
A couple of things some people might NOT like:
1). A LCD TV is hidden inside the armoire, and the TV is very small (20 inches?)
2). No in-​room fridge.
3). Although the alarm clock has a 30-​pin dock connector, it did not charge my iPhone 4.
4). Power outlets are a little difficult to locate and use.
5). A good number of rooms face a rather busy street. But thankfully, no one’s on the road after 10pm in Arkansas.
6). The floor board sounds rather thin and creaky. It was not a problem for me during my stay as my upstairs neighbor apparently used their room to sleep and didn’t stay up. It COULD be a problem if you happen to get a bad neighbor.
7). There is no on-​site fitness facility. Instead, you can check out a World Gym pass, which is a full sized fitness facility off of Exit 72 – a few miles up the road. It has rather limited hours and is closed on Sunday mornings.
Other than that, a few things you may love:
1). Breakfast muffins contains thick-​cut bacon, egg patties, and ham.
2). Breakfast also includes a variety of cereal, good coffee (medium and ethiopian roast), shaved deli meats (turkey, ham, and roast beef), hard-​boiled eggs, breakfast pastries, croissants, muffins, bagels, and an assortment of jellies, cream cheeses. Water, orange juice, and yogurt round out the offering. It is served just behind the service counter from 6:00am to 9:00am.

This is a great hotel experience. Stepping in, it was like an escape to a different world. The room was wonderful and the hospitality was excellent.
Coming in we were greeted by Larry. He made us feel so welcomed and I felt like I was at home. The lobby was beautiful too. Fireplace and all.
As for amenities, you get complimentary breakfast and free wifi. Much better than most hotels now a days. I also particularly like the offer of cookies after a long drive during check in.
The exterior was also beautiful. I felt like I was in a different world here. Honestly this place is one of the best hotels I’ve been to and I have traveled quite a bit.
I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

This was a very interesting cross between a B&B and a hotel. It had the nice, unique rooms, and a lovely breakfast of a B&B, however it had the size and parking lot of a hotel. The place does not have gym, however they do have a membership for a gym a couple of highway exits away. The hot cookies at check in were a welcome treat, and although I missed the cheese and wine, it sounded lovely. Will stay here again if in the area.

We went as a family trip to visit some family in Fayetteville. And wanted something more than your normal hotel. This place was so nice and cozy. The staff was nice and welcoming, even at 2 in the morning. We stayed for 4 days. The breakfast room service was nice, but if you go downstairs the spread is much nicer than what you can get delivered to your room. The bed were comfortable and warm. The grounds were super nice! With a Koa pond and the mill and a waterfall! It made for some nice family pictures. My son loved this place so much he still takes about it 2 months later. We will go back next time we visit family.

Fantastic. I’d agree with the earlier reviewer who said the downside of posting a great review is that the place will become too booked up in future. The hosts were extremely helpful, moving things around to get me an additional night’s stay once I’d found that the first night was so good. The building is a delight and the rooms are much more luxurious than I had a right to expect.
I also hear that the restaurant attached to the hotel — James at the Mill — is excellent too.
It’s just a ten minute drive to the main street at Fayetteville so the location is ideal too.
If I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely look to stay here again.

Great hotel. We stopped after a long day driving and found this gem on Unilocal!If you find yourself in the area and need a place that is clean, unique, friendly and 5 star dining on the property this is the place! Larry at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great!

I recently met the GF there over the pre-Valentine’s Day weekend. Surprisingly, they still had rooms available just two weeks in advance — and VERY affordable. We were both driving in from different towns and I would be arriving first, so I called the front desk to see if they could take two champagne flutes to our room to accompany a bottle I brought with me. They were happy to oblige and we found our stay there to be very comfortable.
The room was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was also excited to see that there was a duvet cover which could easily be removed and washed! I tend to get hot at night, so I was also pleased to find a ceiling fan in the room (don’t see that often) and the windows opened to let in fresh air. We also really enjoyed the iHome speakers, which we played (probably too loudly) pretty much non stop.
In the mornings, they have a very nice breakfast spread that goes beyond the typical continental — a few egg casseroles thrown in there as well and lots of good Columbian coffee. In the evenings, from 4 – 7, they offer wine and cheese, which we also dabbled in.
The only issue we had was with our key cards to get into our room. Our key slot was very temperamental, working only some of the time. Other times, we would walk down to the lobby and the manager would re-​magnetize our keys and we’d try again. At times, only his master key would work. We later found out that the key reader to our door was most likely going dead and needed to be replaced. We weren’t fazed in the least bit by any of this, since it never really affected our schedule. However, just for good measure, after the second night of our keys working improperly, the hotel manager stopped by our room with a complimentary bottle of wine and wine glasses. Unnecessary, but very much appreciated!
Also, there was a little kitten that was hanging around the parking lot on Friday night. It was freezing outside and we were worried that it might not make it out in the cold. We saw that there was cat food near the front door to the lobby and later found out that a couple that was staying at the hotel decided to adopt the kitten and save it from the cold. The hotel manager even donated them his own personal pet carrier!
All in all, a fabulous stay. Hotel management was extremely pleasant and professional. Wish we could stay here during football games, but they’re already booked for the entire season!

what i want to write about and others seem to neglect is the restaurant inside, it was such a nice surprise, esp. in the cold rainy day…
the food was gorgeous, taste and display, pages of wine to choose from, desert was good too, even the espresso, one of the best espresso i drank in the america, ah ha
the restaurant deserves 5 star, no doubt, in a nice glass building, very romantic, wait staff very prof. and courteous, chef’s did a great job!

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Loved the complimentary breakfast and wine & cheese. But most of all, love the friendly atmosphere. It’s elegant and refined, yet easy, comfortable and never intimidating.
Our room was beautiful — one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in, with an iPod-​friendly radio/​speaker next to the bed. Everything was impeccably clean and everything I needed was at my fingertips.
The one staff member we had the most contact with, Larry, was friendly, solicitous, attentive and had spot-​on recommendations about area attractions and businesses. He was fun, engaging and interesting to talk to and enhanced an already great experience.
And they have Diet Coke in cans in their vending machines.
I’ll be looking for an excuse to come back to Fayetteville to stay here. It’s that good.

This is a wonderful Inn with an attentive and friendly staff. Price is right. Rooms are spacious and include a refrigerator. Price of room includes continental breakfast, newspaper during the week and wine and cheese at the end of the day. Doesn’t get much better.
