Fueled & Aflame provides it’s students with a safe place to pursue excellence in their dance technique while also learning how to use dance to deepen their relationship with God and impact the lives of those around them. Our programs provide the community with faith-​based recreational dance classes as well as a performing arts program to train up future Fueled & Aflame Dance Company members. We are located inside the Vineyard Church in downtown Springfield, OH. The studio operates with Christian-​based morals and principals. We are not a church and are non-​denominational with our message. Our studio is non-​competitive, however we interact with the community through various outreach projects and performances. All classes are taught in a positive and uplifting environment and feature family-​friendly music selections and movements.

History

Established in 2010.

Fueled & Aflame began as a professional Christian dance company in Southeast Michigan in 2001. The company toured and performed throughout Michigan for 4 years as well as taught master classes and dance workshops. The Company’s Artistic Director, Carla Crowe, moved to Ohio in 2006. After taking a few years off to start a family, Carla felt called to re-​ignite Fueled & Aflame in the form of a dance studio. Today the ministry is active and flourishing once again. Fueled & Aflame Dance Company (a professional dance ministry for trained dancers ages 18 & up) has also begun again and is housed within our studio.

Carla received her B.S. in Dance Performance from Eastern Michigan University. She’s been dancing for over 25 years and has trained under well-​known Christian dance company directors such as Randall Flynn of Dance Ad Deum, Bill Wade of Inlet Dance Theater, Cheryl Cutlip of Project Dance, and Mona Enna of Storling Dance Theate. Carla’s choreography has been used to minister to many lives in the United States and Eastern Europe. In 2002, she founded Fueled & Aflame Dance Company in Southeast Michigan. The company travels frequently performing in city-​wide dance outreach projects and presenting worship dance workshops throughout the Eastern half of the United States. Fueled & Aflame Dance Studio was founded in 2010 and is located in Springfield, OH. The studio offers classes in dance technique and worship dance for all ages. Carla’s heart is to teach dancers how to worship and worshippers how to dance.
