I have been to this location 3 times now and the word I can beat use to describe each visit is awkward. The first time was a cut and color. I wanted an al over color and the lady did highlights, saying it would look better. I was ok with the result so I let it go. The second time, I plainly said to cut it the same length all around, then add in a few layers. This lady(different from the last) didn’t understand and handed me the books, telling me to find a picture. Once I got home and washed all the product out of my hair(she kept showing me bottles saying«I use this, it’s very good»), I noticed my hair was an inch longer on one side and there weren’t really any layers after all. I went back after work the next day where yet another lady still didn’t seem to understand what I wanted then proceeded to charge me to fix my hair because I just changed my mind and wanted something different. I don’t know what their smile back guarantee is supposed to cover, but apparently crooked hair isn’t it. I gave it three tries. I won’t be back.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 without an appointment and was seen immediately. I wanted some long layers. Soo Young was my hairstylist– she listened to what I wanted, studied the picture I showed her and then told me what she was going to do before starting my shampoo. She was extremely nice, listened to what I wanted, and gave me a great hair cut. Soo Young even explained what I should do for my dry hair while cutting. Overall the shampoo, cut, and blow dry came out to $ 34 total– but I gave her a great tip!

Help! Kenia no longer works there! Does anyone know where she went?

All hyperbolic superlatives aside, my wife noted as soon as I got in the door that I had gotten«the shittiest haircut ever.» I agreed. I knew I was in trouble as soon as I sat in the chair and the stylist Jamlet started in with the obviously unsure and inexact trimming and snipping. What is usually a straightforward 20 minute men’s haircut took almost hour, and after my two requests to fix the problems I gave up and could not get out of there sooner. I also could not help but notice other stylists passing by after about 20 minutes in, making pained looks and grimacing at my head, mid-cut. I felt like a car accident survivor huddled up on the side of the freeway, wrapped in a grey trauma blanket and talking to EMTs while the traffic passers-by gawked at me. Will not be coming back ever. Would recommend no one else comes here either.
Hair Cuttery in Kingstowne did a reasonable job of fixing the uneven mess on my head.

I had my prom a few nights ago and wanted to get an updo done, so I looked on Pinterest for a style and I scheduled an appointment with the«master stylist». MiMi was doing my hair and she started with the wash. You’d expect like at most salons that the wash would be nice and relaxing right? I wasn’t that lucky. The water was cold, and she was moving extremely fast to the point of her pulling my hair and the entire wash lasted about 2 minutes. Not relaxing ATALL! Then she started blow drying which has got to be the most painful blow out I’ve ever experienced. Once that was done she picked up the curling iron, grabbed my bangs, and used the curling iron the wrong way going against the clip, causing giant creases in my hair which looked awful. After about 3 minutes of her trying to work the curling iron correctly she finally got a curl and by that time the hair she’d been working on was burned. Halfway through the curling she switched to a straightener to try to curl better but that in turn caused more creases and no curls. Once the curling was done Mimi wanted to see the style picture and I set it up for her to see the entire time. Needless to say my style looked absolutely nothing like the picture, was so messy there were random pieces of hair hanging, was so crooked I had to tell her it was all on one side of my head sticking out a few inches when it’s supposed to be nice and centered, and it was so poorly pinned that bobby pins were literally falling out of my hair as I walked out. $ 73 dollars for that? By the time my mom and I got home it had almost all fallen out and she had to completely redo it, and my mom, who has never done an updo like that before, made it look 100000% nicer than what Mimi did and it was secure. She definitely shouldn’t be considered a «master stylist».

I showed Mimi a picture of the haircut I wanted(had close to a foot cut off) and I was super nervous about it. She executed the cut flawlessly despite my dead hair(haven’t had even so much as a trim since February ’12) my at home color job, and my side bang that didn’t really mesh initially with what I wanted. When I get a chance I will post before and after. I will definitely return for trims and general upkeep of the cut throughout the summer. I know they do blow outs, and personally I am only comfortable doing my own; however, since this experience was perfect I may try out a blow out from this location in the future.

I was not a fan of Hair Cuttery because of the price and lack of experience the girls seemed to have when cutting my hair. That all changed when I met Minh(Tue Minh) at the Hair Cuttery on Old Keen Mill. She was fantastic, but now she is here at the Town Center location. So, now I come to Town Center to get a cut. She is great. She is young so when she first cut my hair I was very unsure. I have had one of the master stylists cut my hair and Minh is by far the best cut I get. She is outstanding. I recently brought my son and daughter to get cuts from her as well and my sons Mohawk looks great now(someone botched up his initial Mohawk), and m daughter absolutely loves her hair. Bottom line, as long as Minh is here, this is where I will get my hair cut here. On another note, I have not had any other person at this location cut my hair so I cannot tell you if they do a good job or not.

I’m surprised there are no reviews for this location yet. It’s fairly new on the LL of Springfield Town Center near the soon to be Nordstrom Rack. My husband got his haircut here a few times and service has always been nice and with quality haircut. Men’s haircut and shampoo runs about $ 18, which is a few dollars more than some barbershop but for the convenience it may be worth it. The stylist takes their time, if you’re waiting on someone, grab a coffee or shop around.
